So cute.... 😗
who am I to doubt her rly
Yeah. My great-grandma took care of me and my brother when my mom would be working. She unfortunately died when I was seven, and I miss her. But I still have some good memories of her.

Can I just say that my opinion on tourism in Hawai'i is extremely low. Like for reals, it is. I DESPISE AND AM DISGUSTED by the tourism there.
Now, because I live in Arizona, I understand that there will be alot of you guys saying that I don't have any right to say what I'm about to say. But I believe that I do. My grandfather from my Dad's side is Japanese-Hawaiian (I will try to ask him a bit more on our Hawaiian side of the family when I see him.) and while I don't know how much blood I have from that side other than Japanese, I hold a lot of pride in my ancestors and their homes.
A majority of the tourists treat us with such disrespect. They gawk at us like we are from another world entirely. Like, remember that deleted scene from Lilo and Stitch where those tourists thought that our girl Lilo couldn't speak English, and one of them said "Oh look! A real native!" And that one dude actually snapped a picture of her? Yeah, that happens in real life.
Getting off topic here for a second, I have had incidents were I would get stopped at bus stops or by random strangers at work and had been demanded that I perform a hula or the haka. And I would just stare at these weirdos like "The hell?" Before immediately walking away. For one, hulas and the haka are considered sacred dances. We don't perform them just for the entertainment for others. Second of all, if not performed correctly, that can upset and disresepct our gods and goddesses. (Plus I never took any classes as a child, so...yeah.)
Anyways! Speaking of which, our dance and culture IS NOT something for tourists (and people in general) to turn into Halloween costumes! It is absolutely INFURIATING to me when I would see people dressed up in our traditional clothing and be all "Look! I'm one of those kooky dancers from Lilo and Stich!" It makes me want to buy a coconut and throw them at their heads. -_-
Also, we aren't all that obsessed with Elvis. That's a pretty big stereotype. Yes, he did film movies on the island, but that doesn't mean we are all crazy about him.
To make a long post short, I think tourism can go burn in hell.
