How do you feel about writing techniques like metaphors, alliteration etc? Do you use any?

Hmm, I probably use them now and then, but I tend to write in a pretty straightforward manner. I'm going to say a tentative "rarely." I feel fine about them, though I think they can be cheesy if done wrongly, but I mean, pretty much anything can be.
