Pterry's signature humour is still developing in the first two Discworld books, so this pun at the end of Light Fantastic ambushed me like a non-guild thief in a Morporkian alley and had me suppressing a very big laugh in a very crowded restaurant.

i'm so glad nobody really tries to do a "modern take" on the grim reaper because can you imagine how lame it would be if your time of death was recorded on an apple watch or something instead of an hourglass

Where the Crawdads Sing - I understand why people like this book but it wasn't to my taste. read the thing cover to cover out of sheer stubborness
