Oh man this sounds like it would be my jam but I can't read any of it. :( The preview is what looks to be image files in a weird website reader that will not work with my screen reader no matter what I try and the full book is a pdf, which are notoriously uncooperative with screen readers. I feel this and also raise you being weirdly knowledgable about obscure-ish true crime stuff that isn't reported because it's too awful. So every time I read a book and they're like "the villain is bad for stabbing a dude this one time" or "omg he killed this one person's relative and it was a quick, painless death but omg!" I'm just like "you tried sweetie, but chances are high I agree with the ideals of the villain and they've almost certainly killed less people than your protagonist". XD

Being a history nerd makes reading dystopias or crime novels kind of sad tbh. The author is like 'these people are awful!! Sometimes... they... KILL people!!!' And I'm like 'hmm. I've been on a deep dive into the shit that went on in Chile in the 70s and 80s, do you need like... some ideas?'
