Proship basically means "ship and let ship" aka it's an anti-harassment take to let people ship whatever they wanna ship. The "pro" part of "proship" means "in favor of," similar to how the word "pro" is used in regards to pros and cons. ( I'm mentioning that since some people think the "pro" stands for "problematic," which it does not. )

Some people often confuse "proship" for "darkship," which is a term for ships that are considered problematic/dark in nature. This includes abusive ships, incest ships, pedophilic ships, etc.

Sometimes you can also find people saying proshippers and/or darkshippers support pedophilia, incest, etc, but this isn't true ( in most cases. You can find bad apples in all communities ofc. ) Though many proshippers are into darkfic stuff and/or support paraphiles, we most often than not do not support abuse in any form when it comes to real life.

You don't have to ship anything problematic to be proship, or ship anything at all for that matter. You just have to believe in anti-harassment and that people have a right to ship whatever they want to, even if it goes against your own personal morals/likes. Squicks ( aka things you personally find gross and don't want to see/interact with ) are normal and many proshippers have them.

Proship often goes hand-in-hand with other stances as well such as pro-kink and anti-censorship, but again, it isn't really necessary to believe in those things to be considered/identify as proship.

Hope this definition is good enough. If I missed anything then other people are welcome to add anything in the tags/reblogs/comments. And also sorry for the ramble. They're many misconceptions about what proship is online, so I wanted to cover most of those misconceptions.

Honestly? Both could technically fit. Cresselia's colorscheme kinda fits Xipe, ( basically the god Sunday follows, ) and he's all about good/happy dreams, too. But considering Sunday's less than ethical methods? Darkrai also fits.

If we're talking lore reasons for Sunday to have/catch either of them as a partner Pokemon, I'd say Sunday would be trying to lure out- and catch Cresselia, using Darkrai to do so by causing nightmares or something. Either way, he'd probably be trying to use either- or both Pokemon to fulfill his plans, and probably has more sleep-related Pokemon if I'd have to give him a full team.

So yeah, Darkrai would probably be the one he ends up with ( at first, at the very least. ) Especially since in canon Sunday's plans ( so far ) have sort of been ruined, so if we translate that over to this, it'd likely mean his plan to catch Cresselia failed.

Considering what his sister is like, in this hypothetical Pokemon x HSR universe, she'd likely be the one to end up with Cresselia, actually.

Anyway, I'll shut up now lol. I just thought it'd be interesting to share my silly little thoughts on if/why he'd have Darkrai as a Pokemon.
