Ravens Valley, from a Storyteller.

I’m not here to teach (or educate) anything to anyone but only as a reminder about the benefits of nature which, has its own limits. Wilderness cleans our air, filters our water and provides home for human as well as for wildlife. So it is crucial for humanity, which is already to blame, to bring radical changes today before it’s entire extinction tomorrow. That is my only intention here folks. As the end of April approaches, this beautiful blizzard of Snowbirds is about to leave our area to the Grand North regions. It still amazes me that for such a small and fragile species most of them choose to go to their winter range origin, in cold temperature, to breed.

Many babies Wolverines have been seen in the Grand Valley this season. They are cute but extremely dangerous and powerful. Any kids or small pets, cats or dogs, shouldn’t be left outside unattended.

There is a strong smell of wild animal surfing around here, I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of them.

Yesterday morning wasn't the right time, neither the right moment to trespass a Coyote territory.

At first sight we've been clearly spotted by this couple of Coyote. Usually they don't care much about humans as long as we're not trespassing their territories in the middle of their breeding season; unfortunately we're just at the beginning of it. Like most wild animals, Coyotes can be easily offended during this time and by any means necessary, will protect their family as well as their hunting territories on which they count on to feed their youngsters. The female seems relatively calm but still cautious of our presence contrary to the male who was agitated, noisy, and didn't seem to be in a mood to socialize with us.

Sure the fact that we suprised them didn't help the situation. So slowly we decided to leave this area going, backwards.

His Leucistic color reflects the softness, the purity, the vitality…

Some people would say Albino but actually it is a Leucistic bird. And for people that are not familiar with this term, Leucism is a genetic condition in which there is a partial loss of pigmentation which causes the white, pale, or patchy coloration of the feathers; but not the eyes.

Our little friend here has arrived Yesterday morning with a flock of about 25 Dark-eyed Junco to have breakfast with us and still here today. I've seen in the past some partial decoloration on a few birds like on Pigeons and others but never a completely decolorated one under my eyes.

((I'm sure there is no need to say that we opened a directory in the computer and took over 50 pictures of it. Right?))

So according to experts Leucism occur at a rough estimate of 1 in 30,000 birds and to see one with a complete decoloration like the "Great White Raven" in Vancouver Island, is "RARE" and you need to be very lucky.

Good day folks!
