Witchy Habits To Make 2021 A Magical Year
đŽ Witchy Habits to Make 2021 a Magical Year đŽ

3 Daily Habits
đ§ Meditate and stretch every day, when you wake up or before going to bed, to recenter yourself and look inwards.Â
đ Keep a journal, grimoire or book of shadows and write as often as possible, to remember your thoughts and log your progress.Â
⨠Find something to be grateful for every day, whether itâs a big event or simply watching a bird landing on a tree outside of your window.Â
â
3 Weekly Habits
đ Make a past/present/future Tarot spread on Sundays to reflect on the week that has passed, your current feelings and the week ahead.Â
đ˛ Spend time around nature or observing the sky, at least once a week, to stay connected to the Earth and the Moon.Â
đ Practice Kitchen Magic by making at least one special meal per week, where you pour positive energies and magical intentions. I try to learn a completely new recipe once a week to keep it fun and interesting.
â
3 Monthly Habits
đ Make a list of your goals on the first of each month, and keep it close to your desk to stay on track every day.Â
đ Follow the moon phases to connect to the Moonâs magic and power. Work hard, start projects and be productive when the Moon is waxing ; rest, recover and reflect when the Moon is waning.Â
đ Learn something new about witchcraft, spirituality, or a completely different topic that interests you. Staying curious, even when life gets busy and complicated, is what makes it worth living.Â
â
3 Yearly HabitsÂ
𧚠Fully cleanse your home after each witches sabbats to get a fresh start and throw out old energies.Â
đŻď¸ Switch up and clean your altar at the end of each season, to keep it alive and filled with magical power. Decorate according to the coming season and sabbat.Â
đą Adapt your behavior to the rhythm of nature: spring and summer are high-energy, starting big projects and spending time outside, while fall and winter are about rest, reflection and spending time indoors.Â

I love that the internet saw people comparing women and other alienated groups of people and went, âtheyâre dating,â and, âthey support each other.â Weâre improving as a society.

âAnd kid, youâve got to love yourself. Youâve got to wake up at four in the morning, brew black coffee, and stare at the birds drowning in the darkness of the dawn. Youâve got to sit next to the man at the train station whoâs reading your favorite book and start a conversation. Youâve got to come home after a bad day and burn your skin from a shower. Then youâve got to wash all your sheets until they smell of lemon detergent you bought for four dollars at the local grocery store. Youâve got to stop taking everything so goddam personally. You are not the moon kissing the black sky. Youâve got to compliment someoneâs crooked brows at an art fair and tell them that their eyes remind you of green swimming pools in mid July. Youâve got to stop letting yourself get upset about things that wonât matter in two years. Sleep in on Saturday morning and wake yourself up early on Sunday. Youâve got to stop worrying about what youâre going to tell her when she finds out. Youâve got to stop over thinking why she stopped caring about you over six months ago. Youâve got to stop asking everyone for their opinions. Fuck it. Love yourself, kiddo. Youâve got to love yourself.âÂ
A Deep Room Cleanse

The state of my room is extremely important to me. Itâs a direct reflection of my mental health, so when itâs messy, my energy levels are low and I just feel yucky. Thereâs no way Iâm getting any kind of work done, magical or mundane. When it feels good and clean to be in, itâs a lot easier to deal with my symptoms and be productive. You donât have to do every step every time of course, but each step has helped me so I figured a list like this might help someone.Â
Change the lighting. Use natural sources of light (like pulling back the curtains and letting the sun in) over artificial ones. If you have salt lamps to turn on, those are still very nice. If you need artificial light to keep it from being too dark, try to prioritize light bulbs you like the color of, and ones that donât whistle quietly when theyâre on.
Change the airflow. Open a window, if you can. Often our rooms feel yucky because the air is stale. Get some fresh air moving. If itâs too cold, itâs okay to only keep it open for a few minutes or put on a coat while you work because youâre stubborn like me.
Change the sound. Put on your favorite cleansing music. Let it soak into the room. I tend to go or ambient spa stuff, or playlists that sound built for a rainy day. (Note: the music that helps you cleanse the best may not be the same as what you like the most. The playlist should keep you focused/uplifted while you work and reflect the vibes you want your room to have.)
Change the smell. Take out the trash, maybe refresh the sheets on your bed. Light a scented candle, some incense, heat up some oil, something to make your room smell distinctly different from the mucky-feeling room from before. (If your method of choice is something short like a room spray, I actually like doing it at the very end.)
Actually clean and organize. Nothing junks up the energy of a room more quicker than actual junk. Organize everything as much as you can (this might mean finally gutting your closet, even if you can close the door and hide it.) Wipe down any surfaces that need it, get everything fresh and functional again. Do some laundry while you work. If you have clothes or trinkets that are just collecting dust, extra points for purging them!Â
Cleanse any sacred spaces by themselves. A lot of us have altars or shrines in our rooms. A sacred space can also be just an extra important area of your room, like a reading nook. Make sure to give them extra attention! You donât need to wipe the board energetically (and probably shouldnât), but taking a little extra time to clean surfaces, straighten up, and make sure everything feels okay on them goes a long way.
Cleanse in your regular way. Bust out the herb bundles, the bells, the ribbons, the broom, whatever you usually do to cleanse a space! The room is SUPER primed for it now, most of the negative energy probably already feels removed if not broken down. A good once-over with your favorite cleansing method should finish it off nicely.Â
Refresh any wards or protections. Self explanatory. If you maintain energy borders in your room, now is a good time to check in on them and zhoosh them if needed. Keep the space clean for longer!Â
Practice self-care. Take a shower, a nap, eat some food, whatever you need. Youâve put in a lot of work and you deserve it.Â
