“I think the red roses are better,” you grit out, the words falling through your clamped jaw. 

“It looks tacky having them for literally everything!” Joshua exclaims, running a hand through his hair. “We both know the arch should be a different color, y/n.”

“It’s what the couple wants, Joshua,” you spit. Adjusting your pitch, you do your best to imitate his obnoxiously sweet voice, complete with mouthy hand motions. “‘What the couple says goes.’”

Bringing his hand to his forehead, he lets a long exhale through his nose. “Not when they’re gonna ruin their wedding photos with their stubbornness.”

“It’s their wedding, not yours!” 

“Obviously! What’s your problem, y/n!?” He yanks the chair out in front of him, plopping down and rubbing his eyes with his palms. “We used to be a team.”

You sigh, crossing your arms defensively over your chest. Well…he has a point. You can’t even remember how long it’s been since you and him got along. You used to even go out together after work to a bar or nearby restaurant to wind down from stressful plans and uptight couples. 

Before you were business partners, you were friends, great friends. That’s how this started, anyway. When did it all go wrong?

Jeonghan:

oh jeonghan. he is definitely a sassy boy. he would see you and the person hitting on you interacting, and want to get closer to you. but he would at first have the intention of trying to hear what the other person is saying (hoping for an awful pick up line) so he can make fun of/scoff at them, before proceeding to make your relationship known by the other person.

his eyes don’t move from that person until they are far out of either of your sight lines.

“jealous much?” you’d tease, only to get a scoff from him.

“how can i be jealous of someone who can hardly flirt” he’d retort. he would never admit it, but he was very much in fact jealous of that person.

Joshua:

another person who i think would react in very different ways depending on the situation. for the most part, i think he would play nice as much as he can to avoid conflict.

when he saw you and the other person interacting, he could tell that you couldn’t tell that the person was flirting with you, and not just being extremely nice.

he doesn’t hesitate to make your relationship clear with small but impactful forms of pda. with an arm around your waist (or a back hug if you are standing) , he whispers something that only you can hear, like one of your inside jokes, to make you laugh and further drive the point home that you are in fact taken.

Woozi:

not even gonna lie i imagine this man’s to be so silent but so scary. like even if you aren’t “uncomfortable” he would be so mad seeing that this person wasn’t giving up despite you rejecting them.

you would see him fuming from the other side of the room and send a small smile to him to reassure him that you are okay and not uncomfortable, which causes the tension tugging on his heart to ease up.

bonus points if the person flirting with you turns to see who you’re smiling at- they would see jihoon glaring back at them and immediately be unsettled.

he would feel very accomplished with himself.

DK:

much like joshua, he would be trying to keep the peace between parties, so he would first approach the two of you by placing one of his hands on the small of your back, and shooting a smile to the stranger across from the two of you before greeting them.

but, let’s say it doesn’t go so well…. the other person is far from interested in dokyeom s presence, even with an arm around you. they completely ignore his presence as they keep pursuing you.

it takes more time than the average person to make dk mad, but the second you are uncomfortable it’s over.

dokyeom can feel you tense up, which causes an almost instantaneous shift in his entire demeanor. instead of the usual sunny smile, his face is blank, staring back at the person still trying to talk to you.

“you should back off.” he states, with much more aggression and dominance than either of you expected. but somehow, with a scoff and a roll of their eyes, the person walked away.

dk immediately puts his hand over his chest to calm himself down. “i thought they were gonna beat me up!” he exclaims quietly.

“me too” you chuckled back.

Seungkwan:

have you seen this man when he’s mad or annoyed?????? yeah. imagine being glared at by seungkwan. no thanks.

so you can only imagine how the other person feels when they practically feel holes burning into their skull, before turning and seeing none other than seungkwan glaring them down from across the room.

most of the time, the person leaves before seungkwan ms strides bring him to his spot beside you, but if the person hitting on you is still brave enough to endure short distance glaring from seungkwan, it doesn’t last for very long before they start shifting uncomfortably and eventually excusing themself.

seventeen - they give you a promise ring

seungcheol -

he would want to give you a promise ring when he tells you that he loves you for the first time

so about a month or two into your relationship, he decides to tell you that he loves you

before he tells you, he needs to get a ring

so he went to a jewelry shop and picked out a ring design

then he got both rings engraved

both rings had both of your initials and a heart on the outside

on the inside, yours had "forever" and his had "always"

yes, very sappy, but he thought it would be cute

he wanted to give it to you in a special way

so he brought you to the place where you had your first date

had a whole speech planned, but then scrapped it last minute

you thought it was just a casual date until all of the sudden he pulled out a tiny square box

your mind automatically went to "omg he's going to propose" and then you were like "WAIT HES GOING TO PROPOSE??"

before he could even get a word in, you said, "seungcheol.. don't you think it's too early to propose?"

now that made him almost drop the box "PROPOSE? I'm not proposing! I'm giving you a promise ring!"

your mouth formed an 'o' shape

he opened the box, gently pulled your right hand up to him, and put the promise ring on one of your fingers. then he put his ring on his finger

"not that I don't like the rings, but why'd you get them?" you questioned

"I wanted to get something as a symbol of our love"

you malfunctioned again "LOVE??"

he nodded nonchalantly "yeah, love. I love you"

you folded right there "I love you too"

"and don't worry, I won't propose.. yet"

he decided to get you a promise ring after noticing your eyes lighting up when you saw couples in shows giving each other promise rings

he wanted to make you happy, so got you both custom made rings

they both had the date you started dating on them

jeonghan was debating on when to give you your ring

maybe he could give them to you on your anniversary? no, he already had something else planned then

so he finally decided to give it to you on your birthday

he had wished you happy birthday when you first woke up, but then just acted like it was a normal day

until it was dinner time and he told you that he had reservations for you at this one fancy restaurant

halfway through dinner, he sneakily pulled out the box the rings were in

"love, I have something for you"

you looked up from your food to see him pulling out a ring from a box

"I got us promise rings. I hope you like it"

you gently grabbed the ring. "like it? I love it!! thank you. you know you didn't have to do this, right?"

he smiled at you, "I know, but I thought it would make you happy. which I why I got them"

he leaned in closer to you and motioned for you to move closer

"do you think if I get down on one knee and act like I'm proposing, they'll give us free food?"

others don't view promise rings as a big deal. him on the other hand? thinks it's huge

flowers? check. music? check. food? check. park that he rented out? check

josh would have everything planned out..

then realize he hasn't even got the rings

so now he's panicking

would rush around trying to get the perfect rings for you

picks out a ring style and then gets a heart engraved on both

randomly takes you on a date one late night

you were really confused since it was out of nowhere

when you arrived at the park, joshua was really adamant that you guys should go to this one part of the park where there's a tiny pond and trees around it

you agreed, but you were still confused because like ??

anyways when you got to that section, you saw fairy lights hanging from the trees, a bouquet of flowers laying against one of the trees, a picnic blanket and basket on the ground, and a speaker on the blanket

safe to say that you were speechless

he led you over to the blanket and sat down with you

he pulled out a little box from his pocket and pulled out one of the rings

he then handed you that ring and watched as you put it on

"it's a promise ring. I wanted to get you something related to our relationship that you could wear"

so then you start tearing up because it was just all so sweet

..but then joshua starting panicking again

"why are you crying?? did I say something wrong? do you not like the ring design? I can get us new ones"

you shook your head and told him that he didn't do anything wrong and that it was just so sweet of him to do this (and that you LOVED the ring design)

he would act nonchalant about it but on the inside, he would be freaking out

he would be thinking about what to get you for your anniversary

then the thought of getting you a promise ring would pop in his head

so he picked out a ring that he liked

he didn't get any engravings since he thought you would like it the way it was originally

jun had multiple ideas of ways to give it to you

but then he just decided to give it to you one random night

you were just laying down on your bed, scrolling on your phone

when jun walked in with a tiny bag and he handed it to you

he sat beside you on the bed and watched as you pulled out the box that had the ring

you opened it and stared at it in shock

jun held up his hand and said "it's a promise ring. I already have mine on"

you slipped the ring on your finger and admired it

"this was so sweet, thank you" you said as you hugged him

"I'm so glad you like it"

he would get the promise rings very impulsively

like he would just be scrolling on Twitter or something and then see an ad for promise rings

"y/n would like this!" he would say to himself as he's already clicking on the ad

soonyoung got the rings ordered within five minutes

before the rings arrived, he would go out and buy you a tiger plushie

because tigers plushies are a must !!

when the rings actually arrived, he laid them on the bed with the plushie

he immediately brought you to your room when you got home so you could see his gift

you probably wouldn't even notice the rings at first

you would just pick the plushie up and thank him

"what about the rings" he would ask with a frown on his face

"the WHAT" you replied

he would point to the rings which you only noticed when he pointed them out

"I didn't even see those! they're so pretty. are they promise rings?"

he nodded and said "one of them is mine and the other is yours!"

you would hand him his and put yours on

then you had a long cuddle session afterwards

he's the type to silently watch your reactions to things like that happen in shows and to couples that you see in public

so I feel like maybe one time he saw you admiring this couple that you two saw in a cafe

they were giving each other promise rings as a sign of their love

wonwoo figured that it would be a good idea to get you a promise ring

he would subtlety ask you like what your favourite ring designs are and such things like that

would order a ring with the designs that you like and an engraving with the date you started dating

would probably hide the rings in a drawer

then give it to you at the most random moment

probably when you're cuddling on the couch, watching tv

he'd just say "oh hey, I have a gift for you" and he'd get up and get it

hands it to you as you're like ??

has a small smile on his face as you open it

"I figured you'd want your own promise ring"

you quickly slide the ring on and attack him with a hug

he was caught off guard and almost fell off the couch

which caused you both to burst into laughter

there were two specific ones that he couldn't choose between

so he just ordered both

when you got there, you saw a bag sitting on the small couch

"what's that" you asked, nodding your head towards it

he looked up and said "oh it's a gift for you, open it"

obviously you opened it

you literally had hearts in your eyes while looking at him

so he went and asked one of the workers if they could hold the ring for him until he came back to buy it

they said yes, so he made a mental note to come back in a few days to get it

at home, chan kept wanting to tell you that he was going to get a promise ring for you

about a day after he got the ring, he would give it to you

"y/n! could you come here a minute? I have something to give to you!" he called to you from the living room

when you arrived, you told him, your hands behind your back, "I actually have something for you too"

you both agreed to show each other what you had on a count of three

"1.. 2.. 3..!"

you sat there, staring at each other in shock

turns out you both got promise rings

so you gave chan his and he gave you yours
