AUGUSTHSHAJAJAJAJAK!!!!

This is truly one of my, if not my absolute favorite chapters of the series so far. The calming and homely atmosphere present here is a perfect contrast to what the previous chapters contained, and it just feels nice to watch from outside how the main character and Taehyung interact with each other now. Especially after all of the angst and pining happening before. It's very peaceful. Serene. Natural. More so now with the B-word out in the open.

It’s nice to see how things have fallen into place between these two characters. I’m so utterly in love with the way they love each other. There’s also something to filling about this part:

But thanks to Taeyhung’s boundless patience, you’ve taken step by step together, and these days you’ve even been starting to explore the neighbourhood, always hand in hand, expanding your limited knowledge about your ghostly existence together.

That just makes me think that everything is going to be okay for them now, and I love that for them. The way that they have been there for each other during this entire journey and there’s still more for them afterwards once the final words have been read. Part of me isn’t ready to get to that point even though it’s literally one chapter away, but I’m really looking forward to seeing how their journey ends.

Also, I am very, very pleased with how cuddly Taehyung is in the morning, and the fact that they would forgo hotteok for other...sweet and sticky things as you’ve said😉😂(I’ve never tried hotteok before, but I understand their dire wants haha!)

August, thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart for writing a series that has made my heart race from the beginning. MTR has made me think that if I were to be in a relationship, I'd like to have moments like this one. (Cheers to you August for raising my standards. Again.) I’m forever sending you my love even if you have 99.9999999% of it already💕

“Do you think you could live here?”

Taehyung’s voice pulls you out of your drowsy haze and you crack one eye open, letting your gaze drift over the cityscape. 

You’re surrounded by reddish-brown brick houses with wooden shutters, most of them closed to keep out the relentless summer heat. A small canal runs along the street and a handful of boats navigate the water at a lazy pace. The passengers take pictures of the swans, the birds seemingly unbothered by the attention, and you chuckle when a man nearly falls overboard in a bold but foolish attempt to pet one. 

Your legs are dangling from the quay wall, heels tapping softly against the stone. The city is beautiful in a warm and intimate way—so different from what you’re used to calling home.

“Don’t know. Maybe?” You turn towards Taehyung. “What about you?”

November 25th.  A day like any other.

For most people, at least.  For you, it’s the day you’d signed your life away.  A bit dramatic, perhaps, but true nonetheless.  It’s exactly one month from Christmas, the same day your father had brought you into his office and levelled you with that stare of his - firm, unrelenting, the kind of look that left no room for debate.

(“Just take care of it,”  he’d said, dismissive.  

“Why me?”  you’d shot back, exactly the petulant child he always claimed you to be.

He, more than anyone, should have known asking this of you was a recipe for trouble.  But in true fashion, in the maddening way that only fathers could master, he’d brushed you off.  Said something about taking one for the team before his assistant had shepherded you from the room.)

It bothers you even now, a week later, standing beneath the awning of the bus shelter, rolling luggage settled at your feet, down jacket pulled tight around your body.  It’s colder than you’d anticipated and only because you’ve been standing there for far longer than you’d been prepared for, ends of your fingers touched by the cold, tip of your nose suffering the same treatment.
