today was a really weird day for me. waking up to the news that Russia has invented Ukraine had me thinking about this conflict all day. i live in Romania so thinking there is a war developing just across the border feels scary and unreal. I've seen Americans and western Europeans talking about how this conflict might affect their lives, but even I feel a bit selfish complaining about this while it is already affecting so many Ukrainians.

i was talking with my friends earlier today how my graat grandmother didn't get to take her final exams because WW1 started when she was supposed to. this year i am finishing highschool and I'm supposed to take my final exams. the thought that history might repeat itself and i might not be able to take my final exams as scheduled, just like my great grandma 106 years before me is giving me shivers. i really hope that will not be the case.

i hope that everyone that is affected by this situation is staying strong. we will get through this!
