I’m just saying

White House backs bipartisan bill that could be used to ban TikTok
nbcnews.com
The White House endorsed the RESTRICT Act, calling it “a systematic framework for addressing technology-based threats to the security and sa

So the media keeps mentioning this bill as a TikTok ban but the actual contents are even more concerning. The bill is called the RESTRICT Act and targets six "enemy" countries from the US. It is very vague and gives the government an excuse to restrict citizens' access to foreign technology competing with US companies.

Why do I imply this is about boosting US tech monopolies and not national security concerns as the government claims?

From the article: "But the bill’s implications go beyond TikTok. It’s designed to let the federal government pre-empt situations in which technology produced in any of the six authoritarian countries named in the bill becomes popular in the U.S."

Unpopular opinion but as a small tittie goth I think we should normalize small tittie goths more often than we do

i'm as tired of finding out crazy information from my distraction outlets as the next person, but this is important.

if you are in the us, please call your representative and tell them you oppose bill s686, the RESTRICT act (linked).

they introduced it and are trying to get it going without public knowledge. it completely infringes on our first amendment rights and goes hand and hand with what happened to net neutrality not long ago. i would recommend taking the time to read it as i have a hard time explaining things, but it basically throws our internet privacy further out the door and puts the government's hands directly into our internet pies. if they don't like something, sucks for us.

the ongoing attempt to ban tiktok probably started this, and if anyone can add a better explanation, please do.

As you may have guessed from my reblogs the US government is planning on an act that will censor anything it finds a “national security threat”. This is bullshit. They just want to control us more and more and more

Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?
