Sasha (Glaceon) isn’t trained like Rain is to notice / respond to Ansy’s moments where she disassociates or gets lost in a memory or feeling, but he’s picked up on it over the few years Ansy & Ikrit’s been together. I’d imagine he can be sensitive to her feelings like his trainer, too. ❄️

I’d also like to add with my “casual hobbyist” understanding of meteorology on why violent storms like hurricanes are notoriously difficult to forecast, because YES, conditions are in constant flux.

If there’s a vast nimbostratus promising to pour down rain all day, that’s pretty easy to forecast. You can even observe it from the ground - if the skies go gray with the sun half visible through the clouds (altocumulus), it’s likely going to rain soon.

Meanwhile, if it’s a more vertical cumulonimbus brought on by surface heat that rages for a few hours before being spent, that’s harder to track. Hurricanes may be big, but they’re constantly rotating with the heat, then slows / weakens when it makes landfall.

The more you know, guys & yes, certain folks would like to privatize/dismantle NOAA, meaning natural disasters like hurricanes will be a lot harder for regular folk to prepare for, let alone follow. 🌧️

This is especially frustrating because the only reason we know the wind speed is because NOAA's Hurricane Hunters literally fly into the hurricane and collect vital data. They fly in and out of the storm over and over in 8 hour shifts.

This brave team flies two identical Lockheed P3s called Kermit and Miss Piggy.

You can see the dangling ornaments in the videos to determine which plane they are in.

And when I say they fly into the hurricane, I mean they fly *into* the hurricane.

Here they are in the eye of Milton.

And here they are in the eye of Irma.

As you may notice, this flight was in Kermit.

So the next time you see live data about a hurricane's wind speed and pressure, just remember how that was collected and don't be a giant turd about it.

And please vote because conservatives want to kill NOAA.

Made some more of these trainer encounters for my commission sheet I’m working on! I had the fun idea to offer “Single Battle” & “Double Battle” drawings either line-art or full-color, with 1-6 Pokémon per drawing (1-3 each for Doubles, just like in the game!)

For the “Single Battle” example, I drew more “me-Ansy” than “comic-Ansy” (lol) with the plush team you’ve been seeing in those slice of life posts I’d do (still waiting on the last 2 members, hopefully for Christmas!). Really looking forward to it getting cool enough for me to wear my cozy cloudy sweater more~ ☁️

For the “Double Battle” I drew Ansy & Ikrit as a “Kimono Couple”! Kimono / Furisode Girl is a trainer class who wear traditional Japanese clothes & use Eeveelutions, perfect for our Eevee family lol. Reminds me of the Sakura Matsuri (Cherry Blossom Festival)! 🌸 I need that kimono

I’m hoping to have the completed sheet done soon. Again, I won’t be able to do too many at a time (the Double Battle definitely ate up a lot of my time / energy lollllll), but yeah! Should be fun!

I don’t understand how the Froslass was given to Ansy? The comic showed the pokemon delivered the letter but not joining her?

(I was saving this one to doodle a little something, but looks like I’m too busy 😅)

Yukina followed her down the mountain, & as they were sorting out their next steps, she handed Ansy her old Hisuian Poké Ball she kept in her kimono sleeve this whole time with the letter. 🌨️

I saw someone do this for their Flareon, so of course I HAD to make it for my Rain!! 878 🩵

This was at a riverside park in the springtime; there was a paved slope that lets you access the waterside, & a path along the river leading into a forest. Granted, it was a little overflowing due to the spring rains we got - I remember seeing a sitting spot just turn into an island as the water flooded the forest lol 🌳🌧️💧

I do like taking photos with my plushes, but I may make more of these in the future, too - it was fun ^_^
