hello! I just wanted to say I Adore your art style- you always make Andy’s hair so light and flowy! And you draw expressions so well! It’s genuinely really nice and fun to look at! And you just put in so much detail in every single panel I’m stunned! (I would be more specific but I don’t. Want to turn this into an essay lol-) and the backstory leading up to this is really cool! I just can’t wait to see where you take this! (But also like- take your time! All amazing things are worth waiting for and breaks are important! Safety first!)

The nice thing about drawing a lineless style is that I don’t have to worry about making clean lineart & coloring in those lines - that saves me a LOT of time. I do take days off, & have work or just daily life to give me mental breaks from the comic (though I often get story ideas as I go about my day lol) Also, to be completely transparent, I gave myself a generous head start lol, allowing me to work at a more relaxed pace. 🩵🌧️ (lol, yeah, if it weren’t for my friends there, I might’ve just moved here - IG < Tumblr)

Sometimes I log into my save on Sword just to camp out with my rainy babies 8u8 I wish all modern Pokémon games had camping - they tried to do something similar with picnics in Scarlet, but it’s just not as fun for me. 🏕️🌧️

PS: I was chatting with someone about the eventual Unova remakes (though I actually think getting another sequel to make a Black / White trilogy would be very cool, too!), & daydreamed what if they decided to put in something like camping! Obviously, I’d be JAZZED✨ I feel like pizza would be a great camp food, too. It’s a staple food of NY, & it’s very customizable - you can even put Pinap berries on it if you want lol 🍕🍍

DxP Ask - Mizumi & Time Travel

NOTE: this has minor spoilers about one of the main characters of DxP REWRITE if you haven’t read up to the most recent comic - if you’re caught up (or don’t care lol), go on ahead!

Something I’ve been wondering about Mizumi: I understand that she’s Ansy’s ancestor, but she was also from the future and brought to Hisui by Arceus, right? From when is she? Was she born in the same era as Ansy (making it a paradox), or was she from an earlier time regardless?

Mizumi was a modern girl from Sinnoh - just a normal 15-year-old girl who went to a certain school in Jubilife City until a fateful trip up Mt. Coronet, where she got isekai’ed to Hisui about 150 years in the past. Legends Arceus happens, & eventually she restarts her family line to become Ansy’s great-great-grandmother.

She was born when Ansy was about 19 & living in Unova (while the rest of her family lived either in Kanto, Unova, & Alola). Meanwhile, Ansy’s paternal side of the family is living in Kalos around the time of Legends Arceus (already planning for Legends ZA lol) before they immigrated to Unova. All to say that no one in Ansy’s family apart from Mizumi & her family live/lived in Sinnoh.

So yeah - not a grandfather paradox (none of that), but still paradoxical as Ansy was technically born before her ancestor was.

However, two rules of time travel that exist in at least Ansy’s tiny corner of the Pokéverse are this: self-repairing timeline & multiverse theory. I imagine one of Dialga’s roles as the deity of time is sorting through time paradoxes: seeing which ones are “canon” with Arceus, correcting the flow of time to accommodate it, & for the ones that aren’t, create another spacetime together with Palkia for it (like we saw in Scarlet x Violet, & a few of the games themselves)

As I’d recently added to Ansy’s profile page, apart from me just wanting to play as Ansy’s maternal ancestor, it actually does seem to be the canon that isekai’ed Rei / Akari IS Lucas / Dawn’s ancestor. My biggest evidence for this is if you have a completed save in Legends Arceus (aka you befriended Arceus), & then start a save in BDSP, you’ll find the Azure Flute in your room at the very beginning of the game, like it’s a family heirloom that’s made it’s way down to you.

In the SxV Epilogue leading into DxP REWRITE, Mizumi passed the Azure Flute down to Ansy in a slightly different way lol, but same principle.

One last little note to wrap this all up: as of the events of Paldea (the first time either of them really encountered space-time travel), Ansy & Ikrit have shared notes about the rules that exist for them. Ikrit, being a student of Professor Cozmo & astrophysics, goes more in depth while Ansy can follow well enough when numbers aren’t involved lol.

So far their notes include: AU’s (multiverse theory), self-repairing timelines, converging timelines (& memory correction), & what I’m just gonna call “uninterrupted time” because I can’t find an official name of this theory / principle anywhere lol (time moves in either points of the timeline at the same pace since the time traveler left the present - Mizumi spent 2 years in Hisui, 2 years have gone by in the present, same for Ingo’s 7 years).

Real quick before the next DxP REWRITE update - I realized I never shared this one here! Larry, as I’ve said in that last post about hairlines lol, is my all-time favorite Elite 4 member. I was surprised to see him at his second job, but I was NOT surprised by his type switch - as an owner of many cloudy clothes myself, I immediately zeroed in on his cloudy tie (even if he wears a gray one in his Gym). ☁️

I felt bad for him at the Elite 4, as I noticed he had a team of these really flashy Flying types (including his own Altaria!), the exact opposite of his preference: simple, ordinary, & neutral. I have a feeling that his boss made him change it up. His Gym ace, Staraptor gave Ansy some trouble, but by the time she & Ikrit reached the Elite 4, she & Skye were more ready for his simple yet effective battling style!

PS: as a small tie-in to DxP, my headcanon is that Larry is originally from Sinnoh - Staraptor ace, is based on the stereotypical Japanese saLARRYman who loves onigiri, etc. 🍙 Maybe 25 years ago he got a League job offer in Paldea, where he went on to double shift as an Elite 4 member, too.

“Head” Canon (lol)

Just me sharing what I think is under our train twin’s hats, & making a case that I don’t think Ingo is quite as bald as the internet thinks he is, even if I style it differently (he just had a bad haircut in Legends Arceus, & had let it grow out again over 2 years lol).

Maybe it’s being in my mid-30’s, I thought it funny how the internet fixated on Ingo’s receding hairline, but say nothing about Larry’s (my all-time favorite Elite 4 member himself who also has a high hairline). Then I thought about why, & came to this conclusion. Also gave me an excuse to draw the everyday businessman again lol. ☁️
