Truly, I am so happy to see you here! I've been following your comic for a short while on Insta, but I always found it hard to read the text and really appreciate all the details you put in. Welcome!

AHHHHH thank you! Yeah, as I learn more about Tumblr’s features, it does make me wish IG followed suit (especially how Tumblr does hashtags, & lets you include links & pictures in the description box).

I actually have been having more trouble seeing details on Tumblr’s images from my phone myself (iPad it looks fine!) - maybe there’s a setting I’m missing. Could also just be my phone lol.

Hello! I actually find it faster / easier than lined because I don’t have to meticulously draw clean lines, then color within them.

Aw man…I was just talking about this the other day with the mister. Water starters are my fave (big surprise I’m sure lol 🌧️💧), though I don’t know if I can pick ONE all time favorite 😅 I do have a top 3 though: the Squirtle line, the Oshawott line, & the Froakie line 🩵

Scarlet x Violet

Like with Sword x Shield, I decided to share the highlights from Ansy & Ikrit’s Paldean adventure, Scarlet x Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero! If you’d like to see the whole story, please visit my Instagram at parasol_lady_ansy 🌧️

While I did enjoy Scarlet & the DLC’s (going back to Unova in Blueberry Academy was a treat!), I didn’t like Scarlet nearly as much as I like (LOVE!) Sword, so this was a much shorter series, mostly focusing on the Indigo Disk DLC.

Important headcanons for this story: Ansy & Ikrit ended up on parallel timelines when they came to Paldea - Ansy was on the Scarlet timeline (Naranja Academy, Koraidon) while Ikrit was on Violet timeline (Uva Academy, Miraidon). They could still communicate across spacetime via their Rotom phones & Union Circle (spots where the timelines blur & they can meet up).

Being around all these kids really brought up Ansy’s maternal instincts, as she “adopted” Penny & Arven lol (she would still check on how they’re doing).

Professor Sada / Turo similarly fell into the parallel timeline years ago, though each concluded the other “left” following an incident with the Time Machine (the reason the timeline split in the first place). These two timelines converged in the endgame climax, & the Paldea that exists now is a combination of the two. The academies became Uva-Naranja Academy, & everyone has a combination of memories from the two timelines.

水の日おめでとう! Happy Water (Vaporeon) Day! 🌧️💧💦

Very last minute decision lol, like I JUST drew this - I figured I owed it to Rain to make something for her day! 🩵

There are a number of Japanese nature holidays (Greenery Day, Sea Day, Mountain Day, etc). Today, Water Day is a more recent addition, & Vaporeon is the official mascot / ambassador! Along with this Pokedex entry (my favorite!), Vaporeon’s cellular structure is closer to water, & so can melt into water seamlessly (hence why they can learn Acid Armor). They also like to live by beautiful, clean lakesides, & hunt fish PKMN. 🐟 

While I’ve yet to have a in-game version of Rain who has her Hidden Ability, Hydration (heals status conditions in rain), that‘s her canon ability in DxP REWRITE & all her adventures with Ansy - perfect as a team lead for a rain team. 🌧️

ahhh thank you, that actually makes me really happy to hear. 🥲 I actually end up redrawing the twins’ faces a lot because I’m not always confident that they look right. I’m hoping with more practice it’ll come more naturally. 🔼🔽

Ansy PKMN Timeline

When I started posting Diamond x Pearl REWRITE on my instagram, I did quite a bit of set up for new readers, including a full timeline for both Ansy & Ikrit. The mister & I (the players behind these characters) have been playing Pokémon since very beginning (though I had a very long break between Blue & Black), & now we play Pokémon together! 🩵

Ansy was born in Kanto, had a very coming-of-age story in Unova, & considers the latter her home region. It’s where Ikrit & she live to this day when they’re not running around other regions (maybe in Nuvema Town, moving from Undella in favor of a little town still near the ocean but more affordable & quiet). She isn’t the strongest battler, but she’s definitely gotten better since Ikrit started training with her. Strange things seem to happen around her though…

Her design is often inspired by the female PC, though she’s often holding an umbrella as her trainer class is usually Parasol Lady (she likes rain teams, mostly Water PKMN). 🌧️ Exceptions are in Blue (Lass) & Sword (Gardener).

PS: So I got confused with which Legendary you got in BW & BW2, so while I just played Black when I realized that’s the one with Reshiram lol, I just rewrote White 2 - I didn’t realize the Reshiram you help in the game was N’s Reshiram, so I pretended it was Ansy’s Reshiram instead (as my hc is that players more befriend Legendaries than catch them like in the anime). 😅

PPS: the time skip between BW & BW2 is officially 3 years, but since I didn’t really want to jump from 10 (when I played Blue) to 22 (when I played Black), I made it about 9 years.
