in a lot of ways supernatural is the perfect show, whilst having practically impossible events and challenges, it also humanizes sam, dean and every character by showing their flaws, weaknesses, low moments etc. it allows the audience to connect to these characters but also find a form of escapism in a show that they can watch for hours and still get something new each episode, its fanbase is full of a range of people from different nationalities, ages etc and shows this diversity on screen meaning there will always be something for a viewer to relate to
