I use GPS when driving in heavy fog.. it really sucks when you can't see past the hood of your vehicle. And it's nice to know when you have a signal or stop sign up ahead.. GPS also helps a lot on winding mountain roads any time of the year..so you can tell how much you need to slow down for curves.

i learned that some snow plow trucks in Alaska use heads-up displays that show where the road is under the snow, allowing workers to continue plowing roads in zero visibility, white-out conditions (x)
