He hadn't been able to sleep. That small change was all it took. He slowly crept down the corridor, heading towards the kitchen. His heterochromatic eyes shone from the lights coming from within. He peered through the gap in the sliding door. His mother stood next to the stove, boiling water. Then it happened, all too quickly. His mother turned to him, her mutters and mumbles trailing off like raindrops into puddles as the kettle boiled. She turned. Her pupils constricted. She couldn't see her child, who was he? He was his father. The monster that forced her life to a living hell. The piercing whistle of the kettle rang through his ears like a thousand souls, screaming in agony as he backtracked. Something wasn't right. He had to leave. Her hands moved towards the kettle, god reaching out to his deadly weapon. Time stopped. Everything hurt. He felt like he was dying, he was dying. The line between hurt and numb blurs. So much can happen in such a few seconds. Most humans go through trauma but a mere child shouldn't have to. The heavens turn a blind eye to his weeping, the kettle whistling its deathly tune, Satan's anthem. As its contents reached towards the child, a steaming, shining, dagger of water. The 5 year old, Shoto, lies still on the floor, unmoving.

Wrote this the other day, I pretty much just wrote out Shoto’s childhood because i had writers block. Hope you enjoyed :) [All credits to Horikoshi, the characters and story aren’t mine]
