Genuinely do not understand Americans who say they aren’t going to vote or the vote doesn’t matter. You’re on the clown site, babey, and you just got the chance to have a black woman, however morally questionable you find her, wipe the floor with the most overconfident, below-mediocrity white man you ever did see. The comedy! The drama! The pizzazz! Where’s the commitment to the bit!? The dedication to the show going on!? The “god forbid women do anything” tenacity you all so love!? You’re in the circus now and I swear, I better see you all getting into this clown car because the world is watching and we’re waiting for the best show of our lives!

For the first time in forever I'm actually feeling hopeful about the state of US politics. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz may not be as radical as some progressives are demanding asking, but for American politicians they are an absolute breath of fresh air.

With how the Republican party has been trying to recreate Nazi Germany, it's such a relief that we have Democratic candidates who are outspoken supporters of LGBTQ rights, women's rights, civil rights, etc. It also definitely helps that they're not completely tonguing Israel's boot.

If you're an American citizen and over 18, you have no excuse to not vote this November.

Hi unsolicited opinion from a British person incoming. If you live in the US and you don’t vote for Kamala you’re fucking stupid and basically the entire rest of the world will want to give you a slap for passing up the opportunity to bring in one of the least dogshit front-running leftist politicians in recent history just because you don’t agree with absolutely every single little tiny thing she believes.

Here in the UK we would give almost fucking ANYTHING to have a politician who openly shows care for their country’s people even an eighth as much as Kamala does. Do NOT fuck this up.

I really did not mean to become A Politics Blog, but I am so hype about the Democratic Party getting their shit together for one (1) shining moment right when we needed it and Kamala Harris throwing punches right out the gate. My personal hope is for Vice President Running Mate Former Astronaut Mark Kelly, although I like everyone on the shortlist unto themselves. He feels like The Moment, I’m manifesting it for us. I’m on a lot of pain meds and they’re interacting in unexpected ways and I might be a tiny bit manic. GET EXCITED.

normally i wouldn’t make a post like this, but i hope at least some people will see it:

"By contrast, Donald J. Trump has indicated that he would allow Israel to use greater force in Gaza, arguing that Israeli forces have "got to finish what they started, and they've got to finish it fast." Mr. Trump also supports taking a more aggressive stance against Iran, and his re-election might allow Mr. Netanyahu to conduct more strikes on Iran and its proxy militias like Hezbollah, as well as the Houthis in Yemen."

from this NYT article

"Though Harris has been careful not to contradict President Biden, she has often pushed the envelope of the administration's messaging on the Israel-Gaza conflict. She has at times advocated forcefully, and ahead of other administration officials, for limiting civilian casualties and addressing the humanitarian crisis in the enclave. "I think she will be more inclined to find other ways to put pressure on Israel if the situation in Gaza does not dramatically improve," said Ivo Daalder, who served as NATO ambassador during the Obama administration and is well connected with Biden aides."
"During the meeting, Harris is expected to tell Netanyahu that "it is time for the war to end in a way where Israel is secure, all hostages are released, the suffering of Palestinian civilians in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can enjoy their right to dignity, freedom, and self-determination," the aide said."
"As vice president, Harris hasn't had an opportunity to define her own brand of foreign policy, though some observers say she might ultimately align herself more closely with the progressive elements of the Democratic Party and might be more inclined to make U.S. support for Israel more conditional on its conduct in Gaza and the West Bank. Harris drew attention during a March speech in Selma, Ala., when she assailed what she described as inhumane conditions in the enclave, and urged Israel to do more to expedite aid to Gaza. She talked in graphic terms about how Palestinians in Gaza were eating animal feed and leaves to stay alive. "Our common humanity compels us to act," she said."
"Jim Zogby, the founder of the Arab American Institute, who has criticized Biden's response to the war, said he spoke with Harris by phone in October and believed she has demonstrated "far greater empathy" for Palestinians than Biden and other White House aides."

from this WSJ article

just so everyone has the information.
