diluc skillfully hides the smirk as venti chases after the kiss, eyes meeting the expectant gaze. crimson hues roll before he sighs, though it's clear he's not as bothered as he lets on.

“fine. i guess i'll play nice.” he leans forward and presses his lips to the anemo archon's. he pulls away, then flicks venti's nose gently.

“there. satisfied?” he knows the answer will be no, but he doesn't care.

@noctuafought asked: slides venti a bottle of his favorite wine, then presses a chaste kiss to his cheek. "don't say i never gift you anything on your birthday." his way of saying 'happy birthday'.

                                    A GENTLE laugh escaped the  BARDS  lips as he made                          an attempt to return the kiss.  It's not  like  it was rare to get this                          kind of attention from DILUC, but it didn't stop him from teasing                          him about it.  He  gladly  took  the  bottle  before  giving  him an                           expectant look. 

                                             " You are most generous Master Diluc, but                                                 if  I  may  request  a  real  kiss~.  It  is  my                                                 birthday after all ehe~. "

takes my adhd and shucks it into the trash because I have so many diluc essays to write. anyway essay to do list:

his true feelings regarding kaeya, their falling out, and their distance

his true mentality towards justice

his identity as an archon and what it really puts him through

arms fold over his chest, the redhead pursing his lips as kaeya tries to deflect, but it still doesn't erase his guilt or regrets.

he sighs heavily, head tipping down in a tired bow.

“that’s the thing. yes, you pushed, and i reacted — but that's exactly my issue here. i may be allowed to react in any way my mind sees fit, but i'm still responsible for my own actions. so even if you poked the bear at the worst time, it still isn't an excuse to hurt you the way that i did.” he explains.

he finally looks to kaeya, “you can tell me as many times as you want, it still doesn't change the way i feel. this isn't even mentioning my actions afterwards. i've done nothing but shun you, push you away, and avoid having to deal with you. i know that despite what you say, that this hurts, and i have no excuse for this behavior, no matter which way you try to justify it.”

swirling the wine in his glass, kaeya's gaze remained focused on the red liquid inside it as he listens to diluc. no matter what they both thought, they still prefer to blame themselves over blaming each other, and perhaps that's how they're destined to live life now.

a low sigh leaves his lips as he takes a sip from his drink, his heart sunken at hearing diluc's perspective. this wasn't fair, why does he have to suffer this mindset, when this all happened because of the abyss and his truths? eventually, he gazes up at diluc and just shakes his head.

"why blame yourself for my history? i told you, knowing fully well it was the worst time, and yet i still told you that i am a traitor. master crepus does not want you to be this way, we both know that, yet you... try and hoard all the guilt. you didn't wrong me, you simply listened to your emotions, and sure, i paid the price and got a vision, but it isn't your fault. how many times must i tell you this?"
