Kian and Rolan watched Rand play Pac-Man for what felt like the millionth time in a row. He had been trying to beat the high-score for 2 months and finally did it. He was in the number 1 spot on the leaderboard and couldn't have done it without his friends' encouragement. After all, it was practically the first time he had 'applied himself' to anything. A few years later, the dingy arcade was torn down in favor of an even dingier hardware store. It was one of the many times he thought Rolan and Kian were right to leave.

William walks into the study while Ashe is writing fanfiction, but Ashe doesn't hear him walk in because they’re locked the fuck in. William just sort of stands there, skimming what's on-screen out of curiosity and waits for Ashe to notice him. The last time he tapped Ashe on the shoulder while they were focused, it startled them so badly that when they pulled their headphones off, it snagged one of their earrings. Ashe notices him after a few moments and IMMEDIATELY minimizes their tab. William apologizes, complimenting their writing, hesitantly offering to proofread for Ashe as an attempt to ease the growing awkwardness in the room. They accept his offer and William is beyond excited to read Ashe’s fanfic. He was always good at spell-checking and writing essays for school.
