Hey I hope you don’t mind me asking but do you have any tips on how to draw hands? Hands are a nightmare for me I can’t seem to get them right🥲

Hi hello!

Hands are one of the hardest part of human anatomy and I understand that very well. Now, even though hands are really hard to draw, they're the most expressive human part after the face, so hands are really important.

In this tutorial below, I will try to help you UNDERSTAND hand (meaning the general anatomy, the parts, the shapes and stuff), so that you can DRAW them better. You have to understand them first to draw them.

This is a very brief anatomy lesson on the hand. Now to the practical tips on how to draw hands.

First of all, REFERENCE is very important to drawing. It helps you know which part is wrong or right, which part is shorter, hidden, or covered. Now to understand it more, just look at the closest reference, Your Own Hand!

Rather than searching in the internet for references, usually I literally put my phone camera on selfie mode, put it on the table or rest it on the book, then do the pose that I want!

Here's some of it.

What I'm saying is, just go take a 5 second selfie or heck, just record a 10 second video. Then boom, hand reference.

Remember, this is the result of years and years and years of practice. No amount of tips or tutorial you read or see will make you good at drawing hands, unless you try to practice yourself.

The planet Val’s accent comes from is heavily inspired by the Deep South, more specifically the Louisiana swamp lands and its biggest “city” inspired by the French Quarter of New Orleans

Now she is born on Mandalore but her family does travel to her mother’s home planet, the planet I just described above, but because she’s got more of a bond with her mother, she did actually pick up the language and accent as a result

She doesn’t show it when she speaks normally the longer she had traveled throughout the galaxy, but it will come back very, VERY thick the moment she gets pissed/has a high rush of adrenaline. It gets to the point where no one has any idea what she’s saying despite speaking clear as day Galactic Basic
