The Shapeshifters Are Fascinating From A Character Standpoint.
The shapeshifters are fascinating from a character standpoint.
Perception of Laios:
Everyone has an exaggerated and flattened view of Laios, emphasizing his worst qualities.
They're at least somewhat aware of this fact, and their versions of Laios are completely incompatible.
Laios's perception of others:
He misses the details but has a better understanding of the other party members than they do of him.
His version of Marcille is the most accurate.
It's highly affected by recent events and idealized (the real Marcille is more careless than fake)
He's the only one capable of self-crit on the level to recognize his own flawed perspective
Perception of Marcille:
Nobody understands how her hair works.
Everyone knows it's important
Marcille's perception of others:
No understanding of other people's methods and tools due to hyperfocus on magic
Everyone is slightly exaggerated (Laios, more so, due to contrast with Falin)
Perception of Chilchuck:
Laios is the only one who really understands that Chilchuck is an adult
Chilchuck's perception of others:
Thinks everyone is a reckless idiot
Perceptions of Senshi
Everyone has a pretty good grasp on him as a character, even if some aspects are exaggerated or flattened out
Senshi's perception of others:
A lot more racist than he lets on

Guys I’m going to make a hot take
“If I had time travel I’d kill Hitler” “If I had time travel I’d stop my favourite politician getting assassinated” you’re all thinking way too small. If I had time travel I’d stop Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin from dying on the moon due to Soviet sabotage, kicking off the Great Nuclear War and devastating half of the planet.
Also the unfortunate truth is that you won't get business if you charge what your art is worth, especially if you're getting started and/or don't already have a known social media presence. In the current climate, underselling is basically a prerequisite to get business or to get started.
In response to not getting commissions, it's almost GUARANTEED that any price adjustment will be LOWER not higher.
oh god i’d heard about the “i won’t commission artists who undercharge for their art” post and now it’s making its rounds on my dash.
please understand that this concept does not actually help anyone. the sensible thing to do if an artist is undercharging is to tip them for what you think their work it worth, and be sure to let them know that. even if this doesn’t cause them to actually change their base prices, at least YOU’RE paying for what it’s worth, and THEY’RE getting business instead of nothing.
by essentially boycotting artists who are already unsure of the value of their own work (and are thus underpricing) you’re not sending any positive message. no one is going to up their commission prices when nobody is buying them. the only thing the artist gets out of it is that people don’t want to buy their art for some reason, and people who’s products aren’t selling aren’t going to say “oh i guess it was because i wasn’t charging enough, i’ll pump up the prices!”
if you want to support a commission artist, please do it by actually SUPPORTING THEM WITH COMMISSIONS rather than by choosing to take your business elsewhere because their prices were too low.
