thinking about how weiss wearing her ponytail off-center was a subtle form of rebellion and really she should have cut her hair shorter right before she left atlas in V4 to really kick it off like her rebellion is no longer subtle.

also it would have helped her go unnoticed bc everyone is expecting weiss schnee to have a long ponytail but she's done being that Weiss Schnee, seen standing next to her father in portraits as the perfect heir and what not, she's forging her own path now.

weiss using her hair as a form of self-expression. is this anything.

I want short haired Weiss

My idea with that is kind of like to rebel obviously but also with a hint of a ponytail or her just current hair is too much for her to manage whilst fighting so she decides “to hell with it” and just cuts it all off

It’s a statement against the control her family had on her to show she is capable of making all her own decisions of course and just for easier mobility. I mean winter used to put hers in a bun so.

Also I’d rather have had this over Blake’s short hair cuz Blake’s lacks a long lasting meaning except for funsies while Weiss would have been longer lasting cuz of atlas arc and all that. Since she used to so heavily represent the Schnee family name I’m sure the sight of her with this shorter hair may cause a large amount of surprise to those who think they know her. Also I drew her older outfit from 4-6 cuz I imagined her cutting it off around her “This Life is Mine” sequence cuz I imagined the intensity the song becomes as well as some of the lyrics to have led to the decision of cutting her hair. I’m not great with words and wording things but I hope my idea was understood ok.
