Sweet Little Lies - Lando Norris X Reader

Lando Norris x albon!sister

Requested? Yes/No: Heyyy  I just wanted to, say that your stories are absolutely amazing and I really enjoy reading Them. It would be nice if you could write an Lando Norris x reader maybe Alex albons sister story I would really appreciate it. Best regards💕

Summary: Your brother Alex plans a trip away just before the Italian Grand Prix and invites a few drivers, including Lando Norris.

Warnings: Fluff, cocky Lando, a smidge of angst, classic one-bed trope

Word Count: 5K

Alex was beyond stressed and needed a break from the track and thankfully for him there was a two-week gap between now and the next race, a gap he wanted to make the most of. He’d asked around a few drivers including George Russell and Lando Norris all of which agreed to join him. He’d booked a large cabin for you all in Sweden, a nice place where you could all relax without the world bothering you.

You and Alex were joined at the hip so there was no question that you wouldn’t be joining him. The pair of you had a three and half year age gap, you being the youngest which made act like your security guard whenever the two of you were with one another. Alex was someone who didn’t like conflict and chose to avoid it wherever possible but that differed when it came to you. Alex may have seemed as if he’d never throw a punch but he did break your old bully’s nose, and he pushed the girl who stole your favourite book down the stairs, oh and not to mention the time he shoved Gasly into a door when he tried to take you on a date.

You were currently sitting in the back of the car, Alex driving whilst Lily was by his side. Looking out the window all you could see was blankets of white covering every tree branch and every inch of ground as far as the eye could see. This place was beautiful, it was no wonder why Alex wanted everyone else to join you all.

“Alex this place is stunning.” Lily smiled, looking over at him before glancing back at you with a smile.

“See I told you I knew what I was doing, I didn’t need an assistant to plan anything,” Alex announced, referencing yours and his conversion from a few days prior where you knew he’d forget something when planning the entire trip.

“Give it a few minutes and we’ll find something Alex missed.” You smiled back at the two of them as he parked the car. George, Lando, Carmen and a few other of your close friends trailed behind you guys in their own cars. Alex parked up before bracing himself for the icy air. He opened the door for Lily whilst you got out on your own before grabbing your bags and heading to the door. Lily had already opened it, waiting for the rest of you to join her.

“It’s even prettier in here…” Lily spoke as he held the door open for you and Alex who was attempting to carry her bags as well as his into the cabin. Your eyes fell onto the others who were now parked and climbing out of their cars. You locked eyes with Lando Norris, only for a second before you turned your back on him and walked inside.

Norris was a cocky little shit. Without the eyes of Alex around, he was a flirt and always wanted to get you alone with him. Whenever he needed to get past you he’d always hold your hips and pull you closer to him before letting his eyes linger on you as he moved past you. If you ever went out with Alex after a race he’d always buy you a drink or two but always away from the eyes of your brother.

“Alex did well.” You smiled at your brother who’d now made his way inside the house with the remaining bags.

“I told you but you never believe me!” He whined yet his expression turned to a warm one when the rest of your friends made their way inside. He embraced George and Lando into hugs before welcoming the rest of your friends giving Lando the chance to talk to you.

“You look cold.” He smirked down at you.

“Well believe it or not it is snowing outside.” You gave him a curious glance. “I know you aren’t the smartest on the grid but I thought you’d know that.”

“Oh I’m aware, just thought you’d be smart and wrap up warm.”

“I have!” You gestured to your jumper.

“And yet you still look cold.” He teased. “Don’t worry I bought plenty of hoodies.”

“Hate to break it to you Lando but my brother might kill you if he catches me wearing a McLaren hoodie with your name and number on it.”

“You never know.” He shrugged. “You look better in McLaren colour than you do in Williams.”

“How would you know?”

“Oh, shit…” The sudden tone of Alex grabbed everyone’s attention including yours and Landos, ripping the pair of you away from your conversation. “You know you said I’d forget something?” He currently held the fridge door open as he looked back at you. “Forgot to buy food as I decided to book a self-catering cabin…”

“Well that’s fine, we passed a shop when we came here it’s not a long drive,” Lando replied. “I don’t mind driving back out to get things.” He looked over at you before he spoke again. “If someone wants to join me that is.”

Alex wasn’t paying much attention to the way Lando looked at you and made a suggestion before he really thought it through. “Take y/n with you, She knows what we all like and what we don’t.” He looked between you both as you gave Lando a side-eye.

“That’s fine by me.” Lando took his keys out of his pocket. “Ready?”

“Let me grab my coat.” You knew if you left the shopping to Lando the lot of you would be eating crackers and crisps for the entirety of your stay. Lando headed out of the door with you by his side, opening the car door he allowed you to climb in before taking his seat. “Do me a favour Norris,” You spoke as he started the car up. “Don’t kill us by driving like an idiot.”

“I drive for a living.” He slowly pulled out of the cabin driveway. “I think we’ll be fine.”

“You drive like an idiot for a living.” You sent him a look as he picked up speed.

“Yeah but I’m alive, aren’t I?”

“For now.”

“Look if we crash Alex would kill us.”

“No, he’ll kill you.” You smirked over at him earning a smile from Lando.

“You may have a point there.”

The pair of you drove in silence to the shop you’d past a while ago. Snow had started to fall as you two grabbed the bags from the boot and headed inside to grab what you needed. Lando grabbed one of the carts and followed closely behind you. Leading him through the store you started to pile all the necessities inside.

“Has Alex always been protective of you?” Lando suddenly asked, breaking the silence the two of you had caused.

“He’s my older brother of course he is.” You turned back to look at him. “Why’d you ask?”

Lando shrugged before he replied. “He just seemed more laid back in the cabin.”

“He’s just more relaxed now he’s here. He’s had a stressful few months hence the getaway.” You grabbed a loaf of bread and placed it in the cart. “When he’s with Lily he’s more relaxed, think that’s one of the reasons why Mum and Dad love her so much, same for me really. When Alex is with her he seems to forget I exist and actually lets me do normal things.”

“You know you’re allowed to be your own person, right?”

“Tell that to Alex.” You sent him another look. “I like that he’s protective. It makes me feel safe, especially in the garages but sometimes I just want to do things without his constant worrying or his watching eyes.”

“And have you told him that?”

“No, would make him cry.” You turned back to look at Lando once again. “Since when did this turn into a therapy session?”

“It’s more of a conversation starter.” He replied. “You’re a nice girl y/n, why wouldn’t I want to start a conversation with you?”

“Don’t let Alex hear you say that -”

“You think he scares me?”

“Clearly not as you find every waking second as an excuse to talk to me.”

“And yet you seem to reply every single time.”

“My parents taught me manners, Lando.”

“So did mine.” He smirked over at you. “Hence why I’m always nice to you.”

“That isn’t true.” A small smile tugged on your lips at the memory. “Remember when you got on the podium and you decided I was the perfect target to be attacked with champagne?”

“If I remember rightly you were laughing at the whole ordeal.”

“Couldn’t kill you in front of the press, could I?” Lando’s smile grew as you met his gaze again. “If that’s what you do when you get on a podium I hate to think what you’d do if you actually won a race.”

“Well that’s something you’ve got to wait for but I’m sure you’ll be here to see it. I swear you live on the track.”

“Of course I do.” You gave him a confused gaze. “Why wouldn’t I?”

“You and Alex are clearly close”

“He stood up for me when I needed him the most. Ever since I was born Alex was protective and wanted nothing but the best for me.” You and Lando started to head towards the tills. “I can’t thank him enough for that.”

“That’s sweet.” He gave you a warm look. “It seems like all you do is be around him though, can never seem to get you alone -”

“And why the sudden interest?”

“Certainly not a sudden interest.” He fired back. “Think you’ve known for a while that I’ve got a soft spot for the little Albon.”

“Little Albon?” You snapped your head around to look at him. “You aren’t exactly tall or old yourself.” Your brows arched as you spoke.

“Oh, I know.” He smirked.

“Alex would kill you if he heard you speaking like this you know.”

“I’m not scared of him.”

“That’s what Gasly said and he still ended up in a door.”

“All Gasly wants is a cheap fuck -”

“Are you calling me cheap Norris?” Your words made his eyes widen in regret.

“I didn’t mean it like that!”

You couldn’t help but laugh at his words. Lando would always try and start up conversations with you. He’d do his best to flirt, mainly by slating other drivers who clearly had an eye for you however much like right now he’d always happened to make a comment and land himself into hot water. That was one thing you did like about Lando, in a matter of seconds he’d go from acting incredibly cocky to begging for your forgiveness.

“Calm down Norris, I know you didn’t mean it like that.” You winked before paying for the food and heading back to your cabin.

The night went on and you could continually feel the gaze of Lando Norris on you. You didn’t mind it really, Lando was an attractive guy and anyone would be flattered having someone like him take an interest in them. Slowly everyone started to filter out of the front room and headed off to bed after the long journey. You too headed off to one of the spare rooms only to find your friend Ben making himself comfortable.

“Ben?” You called out to the blonde boy. “Aren’t you sharing with Sharon? You know… your girlfriend?”

“Sorry y/n but she kicked me out and there’s no way I can sleep on that sofa with my shitty back.” He replied. “I may have made a joke about not wanting to marry her and now she doesn’t want me in the same room as her.”

“Fantastic.” You muttered, grabbing your bag before heading back to the front room knowing Lando would have taken the last room and you’d rather him not catch on that you were on your own. Besides if Alex caught you walking in there you and Lando would find yourselves sleeping in the snow.

Throwing yourself onto the sofa you propped yourself up to fix your gaze on the TV hoping it would bore you enough that you could fall asleep and forget the cold air that grazed your skin. After some time you felt your eyelids growing heavy and the familiar feeling of sleep started to take over your body when a sudden shadow made your heart jump. Sitting up with a sudden shot of panic through your veins you were met with the wide eyes of Lando Norris.

“Fucking hell Lando you scared the shit out of me!” You glared at the boy who stood shirtless before you with a smirk. “What are you even doing in here?”

“I just came in to grab a drink.” He shrugged, casually striding to sit on the sofa you were laying on. “Could ask the same about you…”

You huffed before replying. “Ben’s girlfriend kicked him out of their bed because he made a stupid comment so he took my room and as you can probably guess there are no rooms left.”

“So you thought you’d get frostbite and sleep in here?”

“That was the plan…”

“Idiot…” He spoke with a smirk as he stood up and moved to pick you up. The British boy carried you in his arms bridal style as he walked to his room. “Christ you are cold…” His large hands squeezed your thighs slightly.

“What are you doing?” You whispered. “Alex will kill us if he sees us!” Lando kicked the door open before setting you down on the edge of his bed. He planted his hands beside your sides, leaning down so his face was just inches from yours, his beautiful eyes pouring into yours.

“When are you going to stop worrying about what your brother thinks?” His voice was smooth as you felt his hot breath against your lips. “You need to start living your own life rather than spending it in his shadow -”

“I don’t spend my life in his shadow -”

“Yeah?” He raised his hand and moved your hair from your face before he tucked it behind your ear. “Then why are you so reluctant to spend time with me?”

“Always the centre of attention Norris.” Your brows arched.

Lando let out a small laugh before he spoke. “Someone’s got to be.”

He straightened himself up, looking down at you with the smirk still bright on his face before he took a few steps back to turn the main light off, his face only lit via the small lamp light next to his bed. You couldn’t help but let your eyes flicker down to his chest and torso. You could never lie to yourself that Lando wasn’t attractive, he was stunning. He picked up on your staring immediately, if it was even possible his smirk grew wider. “Enjoying the view?” He moved over to his bags which were only half unpacked, pulling out a hoodie for you, one with his name clearly printed on the front and back.

“Not much else to look at.” You gave him a look as he handed you the hoodie.

“Put it on, you’ll be warmer.”

Your eyes narrowed at his proposition but as much as you wanted to refuse it you knew you couldn’t, it was freezing. Lando climbed into bed, watching you get dressed in his clothes. “Think you should stop staring Lando.”

“It looks good on you.” You glanced in the mirror as he spoke.

“It does.” You spun on your heel to face him again before walking towards his bed. Lando held his arms out, clearly wanting you to fall into them but you ignored him as you got in the opposite side.

“You’ll be cold on your own.” Lando reached over to the lamp, plunging the two of you into darkness.

“I have your hoodie I’ll be fine.”

“You know to actually stay warm we’re supposed to be naked and excanage body heat.”

“I’m not that desperate.” You pulled the duvet around your body as you spoke which earnt you a whine from Lando.

“You’re hogging the duvet.”

“No, I’m not.”

“Yes, you are!” Lando suddenly pulled the duvet from you, the force making you suddenly fall back further into the bed and closer to the Brit. “See!”

You didn’t say anything as you tried to regain what you’d lost and settle down for the night. Your mind drifts off to what Alex would say if he found out whose bed you were sleeping in but Lando did have a point, you needed to stop thinking about what Alex would think or if he would disagree with your actions. You were your own person who deserved to do what she pleased.

“What’s on your mind?” He broke the silence. You turned around meeting his eyes in the dark room, your action taking him by surprise for a second.

“You’re right.”

“About what?” He arched his brows at your words.

“Alex.” Huffing you continued. “I do think of him every single time I do something, if he’ll approve or if it’ll affect him. I never put myself first.”

“Then you should learn to.” His tone was soft. “You’ll enjoy life a lot more.”

“Who says I don’t enjoy it already?”

He laughed, getting closer to you as he spoke. “I never said you didn’t enjoy it as it is, I’m just saying there’s a lot more you’ll be able to enjoy when you put yourself first. I’m not saying you disregard his feelings -”

“I get what you’re saying, Lando.” Smiling you shut your eyes, the wave of tiredness taking over you. “Thank you.”

“See y/n,” He settled, following your actions. “I do have some sense.”

“Shame you don’t use it.”

The next morning you opened your eyes to feel the strong grip of Lando around your waist. In the night the pair of you had managed to find your way into one another arms and clearly stayed like that throughout the night. Your head was buried in the crook of his neck and your right thigh was hooked over his waist. You tried to move slightly, hoping to leave before he woke up and realised what position the two of you were in but his grip on your waist suddenly tightened, not allowing you to leave.

“Not trying to run away after I kept you warm all night, are you?” He looked down at you, his floppy brown hair laying in front of his eyes.

Reaching your hand up you pushed your fingers through his hair before replying. “If anyone sees -”

Lando quickly pushed himself up and threw you down onto the bed underneath him. Propping himself up with his hands by the sides of your head he pouted. “What happened to the y/n I spoke to last night? The one that wanted to do things for herself?”

“Lando they’ll kill you and ruin the trip if they catch us -”

“You think I’m afraid of what Alex has to say to me?”

“I’m his sister -”

“I know but I don’t care.” His head fell further towards yours. “I really don’t y/n… he can hate me for what I’m about to do but I know you won’t.”

“What are you -”

Lando cut you off by planting his lips onto yours, his body lowering onto yours as he deepened the kiss. His hand cupped your jaw as he nipped down on your bottom lip. For a second you hesitated but that didn’t make Lando back down, he knew you wanted this as much as he did. You kissed him back, your hands tangling in his hair and pulling him closer to you. The pair of you continued to deepen the act until you eventually pulled apart, gazing at one another with heavy breaths. The pair of you didn’t need to utter a word to know this had to be kept a secret, something Lando agreed with surprisingly.

Alex didn’t know, until now.

“Be careful today.” You were sat in Lando’s driver's room, watching as he got ready for his race.

Today was the Singapore Grand Prix and you’d managed to sneak off to see Lando, lying to Alex but thankfully Lily was around so hopefully, you’d get away with it. You and Lando had been dating for four months now and you knew you had to tell Alex soon. It was something you wanted to never think about when you were with Lando, never wanting your brother to tear the two of you apart. You’d tried to push that thought at the back of your mind as Lando spoke.

“You know I will be.” He leaned forward to place a kiss on your lips. He looked down at you as he pulled away, frowning at your gaze. “What’s wrong?”

“We need to tell him.”

“We will… look Alex loves me.” Lando’s cocky smile spread onto his lips. “And he loves you so basically if you put that together he’ll love the idea of us being together.”

“Or he’ll hate it -”

“So negative y/n…” He leant down again, this time he kissed you for longer, his hand cupping your jaw as he pulled you closer to him. His knees kicked your legs apart so his body could touch yours. You moaned at his actions which just made Lando smirk into the kiss as he deepened it, never wanting the moment to end.

Whilst you and Lando were having your moment Alex was making a discovery whilst he got ready for the race. He and Lily were also in his driver’s room but not doing the same as you and Lando.

“She’s been getting that drink for a while…” Alex trailed off, looking at Lily as he zipped up his suit. “Maybe I should get someone to go and find her -”

“She’s an adult Alex,” Lily replied. “She probably just ended up bumping into someone. She knows a lot of people here, maybe Max’s mum saw her, or maybe Daniel’s nephew, he’d always liked her -”

“She has a drink in her bag.” Alex huffed. “She always carries water.” He stalked over to your bag which was sitting beside his helmet. Snatching the small black backpack he unzipped it and pulled out a bottle of water and held it towards Lily. “See!”

“She might’ve not wanted water, just text her Alex -” Lily tried to reason with him. Lily and you adored one another and she knew how protective Alex could be. Throughout their relationship, she’d tried to get him to ease off his big brother duties, even for just a second but Alex never faltered.

“I’m going to go find her, I’ve got time…” Alex slowly stopped his words as he opened your bag wider to throw the water inside. His eyes widened at the sight before him, setting the water down he reached his hand inside, his actions catching Lily’s attention.

“What?” Her gaze narrowed as her boyfriend pulled out a small polaroid. He spun it around so she could see what he was looking at. The photo showed Lando kissing your cheek as you wore one of his hoodies, a small hickey making an appearance on your neck, something you’d clearly covered up when Alex was around. Lily watched as Alex set the bag aside and without a word he spun on his heel and headed outside to the McLaren driver's room, still holding the photo in his hand. “Alex -”

“Don’t Lily,” Alex spoke, not looking at her as he stormed off.

“Alex please just think about what you’re doing -”

“That’s my sister!” He spun around to face her, holding the photo out. “And that’s my friend kissing her…” His face was full of hurt as he stepped away again. Lily knew she’d defend you but she also knew how Alex must have felt knowing his own sister lied to him.

Your hand was now in Lando’s hair, the kiss deepening with every second when the door suddenly opened and an angry Alex stepped into the room. Lando quickly jumped back, snapping his head around to meet his friend’s eye. Lily was close behind him, her eyes meeting yours with a regrettable look, knowing what was about to happen.

“Do you two want to explain or are you going to continue to lie?” Alex now shifted his gaze to look between the two of you rather than focusing just on Lando.

“Alex, mate please calm down -” Lando spoke.

“Don’t tell me to calm down! You’re my friend and you’ve been dating my sister behind my back!”

“It’s not like we wanted to.” Your hand found Lando’s as you joined in. “I was scared how you’d react -”

“And you think I’d react better if you just lied to me?”

“Mate don’t take it out on her. I was the one that made her lie, I was afraid to tell you, not her. y/n wanted to tell you after a month but I said no, I was scared. I hid everything from you.” Your eyes jumped to Lando as he spoke. His words weren’t true, it was the opposite. He was prepared to tell Alex but you were the one who’d been afraid to tell your brother. “I love her and the last thing I ever wanted to do was to break you two apart but I can’t help my feelings.”

Alex took a deep breath before looking at you. “Can we talk? Just you and me?”

You nodded, squeezing Lando’s hand as a silent way to let him know that everything would be okay. He added the pressure back before he and Lily left the room. “I’ll be right outside if you need me.” He called to you before shutting the door, leaving you and your brother alone.

For a moment you were both silent. He threw the photo on the table you were still sitting on before running a hand through his hair. “When did it all start?”

“The day we went away at the beginning of the season. Ben took the last room and well… Lando didn’t want me to freeze on the sofa.”

Alex nodded before asking another question. “So like four months now, right?”

“Yes…”

“And what Lando said was true?”

You hesitated for a second on this question. Lando had lied to Alex about the reasons why the two of you had kept it quiet for so long and you knew if you told Alex that Lando had lied to him again then he’d never forgive you. “Yes…”

“And do you love him?”

“Of course I do Alex. At first, I thought he was a cocky little shit and he still is that but there’s more to him than that. He surprises me with gifts, he makes me feel safe, he plans all the dates we go on, he just makes me feel comfortable when we’re together and I love him, Alex. I can’t help who I fall for and I know you’d rather see me with anyone else but him -”

“I don’t hate him you know…” He cut you off. “I just wish it wasn’t him…” Alex made his way towards you as you jumped off the table. “Why didn’t you tell me y/n, we trust one another, don’t we?”

“Of course we do Alex. We’ve been close ever since we were kids but Lando was the one who was scared and I love him so I respected his wishes. I know you’d do the same for Lily.”

He knew you were right, he would do the same for Lily and if you loved Lando like he loved Lily he knew he could warm up to the thought of you two being together, it would just take time. He also knew he could never stay mad at you for very long. Even that one time when you were kids and you accidentally set his favourite toy car on fire, he didn’t stay mad for long. Without uttering a word Alex pulled you into a hug, although this wouldn’t be over instantly he wanted to put your mind at ease.

Alex stepped back, a small smile on his lips as he looked at you. “Lando!” Alex called out. The brunette quickly opened the door, poking his head around the door before he shuffled inside. He awkwardly looked over to you and then back to Alex, hoping to see the two of you make up. Alex walked towards the door, his eyes fixed on Lando. “Now you know I’m not the type to cause any fights or conflict for that matter but if you happen to make my sister cry or just upset her in any way I’ll make sure McLaren replaces you next.” Shoving Lando slightly he left the room, leaving you and Lando alone.

“Why did you lie?” You spoke to your boyfriend, knowing Alex would have left with Lily.

“Why?” Lando asked as he strode towards you, a smile on his lips as his hands snaked around your waist, pulling you into his chest. “Because I know how much Alex means to you and the last thing I ever wanted to do was to break the two of you apart. I love you and if I have to lie to make sure you and Alex don’t argue then that’s what I’ll do, it’s what you do when you’re in love.”

You leant up and took his lips into yours. Your hand were resting on his chest as you lightly tugged on his race suit, pulling you closer to him before pulling back to speak. “Thank you.”

“Anything for you y/n, even if Alex hates me for a while…”

“I can live with that, he’ll get over it.”

“He’s going to have to.” Lando mirrored the gleaming smile on your face as he kissed you again.

It may have taken time for Alex to forgive the two of you for keeping your secret from him but seeing his sister happy, even if it was with Lando Norris, made it all worth it.

Thick-skinned - Neymar Jr X Reader

Neymar Jr x female!reader

Requested? Yes/No: Hey 😊One with Neymar where you've been together for a long time, but his family doesn't like you since you're not from Brazil and you know how much he loves his family, so you think he's going to leave you. It's at a family dinner and his sister, whom he loves very much, starts saying that he should get with her friend instead and seeing you so uncomfortable finally makes him snap. Also, if reader has a very good relationship with Davi Lucca since she has been in his life since he was a toddler.

Warnings: Angst, fluff, swearing

Word Count: 3K

Neymar and you had been dating for years now, the pair of you were joined at the hip at all times. You attended every single game wearing his name on the back of your shirt, whether he was playing for PSG or Brazil, you were always there for him. He did the same for you, he would always celebrate your achievements at work and he always made sure you never stressed over anything. The man was head over heels in love but his family never felt the same towards you.

Unlike Neymar, you weren’t from Brazil so your lives growing up were very different and that was something his family disapproved of. They didn’t believe you understood their culture and what Neymar really meant to them, they saw you as an alien that never could come to terms with the way his family worked. The way his family acted towards you killed you but you always suppressed your sadness when he was around. When he would head off to training you’d let it all out before putting on a brave face when he walked through the door, never wanting to cause an argument with him and his family as you knew how much he adored them. His family was his world but to him, you were also family and even he was slowly getting sick of the comments from them.

Where you could avoid his family, you did. As mean as it sounded you didn’t care, it was not only for your sake but for his but you couldn’t avoid it today. Neymar was travelling back to Brazil for training before he and the squad flew out to Qatar for the World Cup. Normally you’d make a lie and tell him you couldn’t fly out because of work but you’d be there for the games but this time he asked you to be with him. For him, you put everything aside, putting a brave face on you flew out to Brazil.

“y/n!” A booming voice grabbed your attention. Davi Lucca was running over to you with open arms. You’d known him since he was a toddler and he was the only one who never gave you any grief well, him and his Mum.

“Hello, little man!” You smiled down at the boy, holding your arms out as he crashed into them, hugging you tight. “You’re getting big.” You pulled back, looking at the boy who resembled your boyfriend in some ways.

“How are you, buddy?” Neymar joined the two of you, smiling at your interaction with his son.

“Good.” He smiled looking between you two before he fixed his gaze on you. He quickly grabbed your hand and dragged you to the garden. “Look at what I can do now!” He turned back to you. “I did what you said, I practised every single day!”

You knew what he was talking about. When you last visited him Neymar was showing him keepy uppy’s and attempted to teach him how to do them but very quickly the young boy got discouraged. There would always be pressure on him, his Dad was one of the greatest footballers of all time and no matter what path in life he chose, everyone would compare him to Neymar.

Pulling him aside you gave him some words of encouragement, similar to those you’d give his Dad when he needed them the most. That afternoon you watched him constantly practising his skills, never giving up even when the sun went down.

Grabbing a ball he started to kick the ball in the air, never letting it touch the floor with a beaming smile on his face as he noticed your expression. You didn’t realise Neymar was watching you from the doorway to the garden, his heartwarming with pride as he watched the two of you.

“Excited for the World Cup?” A sudden female voice grabbed his attention, his sister. He didn’t look back, his eyes glued to the sight before him.

“Of course.” He replied. “You’ll all be there, and y/n.”

“I thought only family were able to go…”

Neymar whipped his head around to meet her gaze, a frown on his lips before he spoke. “She is family, we’ve been dating for years -”

“And she still isn’t part of this family. You haven’t even put a ring on her finger.”

“I’m not rushing.” He looked back at you. “I already have a ring I just need the right time.”

“Do you remember my friend Maria?”

“Who?” His brows furrowed as his sister changed the subject.

“Maria? Dark hair, green eyes, beautiful girl, could be a model.”

“Right…”

“I was thinking about bringing her to the games, she’s always wanted to come and support her country.” She made sure to emphasise the words ‘her country’. “Is y/n going to watch her country?”

“Why does that matter? Besides I don’t have endless tickets, the other lads have a family too.”

“That’s fine… me, Mum, Dad, David Lucca and the rest of the kids, a few of your mates and we’re fine.”

“y/n will be there.”

“It’s not even her country why should she take up a seat?” She huffed. “Maria met you a while ago, she’s single and Mum loves her -”

Whilst she continued her words Neymar was clueless to the idea that you could hear every single word being spoken between him and his sister. You did your best to ignore it but the lack of defensive words coming from your boyfriend was hurting you. You knew he’d never want to cause any unnecessary drama between the two but whilst she continued to bring up another woman he never said no, he just longed the conversation out, allowing her to talk down about you more and more.

“That’s nice…” He brushed her off.

“And she’s got your name on the back of her shirt, she thinks you’ll win it this time, bring the cup home for everyone.”

“That’s the plan.”

“I’ll tell her to pack her bags, it’ll be so nice to see the two of you together again, she hasn’t forgotten the last time the two of you -” Her words were cut off by you barging past the siblings and heading to the door.

“Excuse me…” You didn’t look at either of them as you kept walking but Neymar could tell there were tears in your eyes.

“Meu amor…” He called after you, his hand catching your wrist but you pulled away from his grasp and headed to the front door. Not hesitating you threw the door open and stormed out, not caring if you didn’t really know where to go or if you knew anyone, you just needed to get away from them and him for a while.

You’d given up a lot for him, nearly your entire life if you thought about it long and hard enough. You packed up everything and followed him around Europe for his football career, leaving behind your friends and family for him. Everything you planned to do with your life was put on hold, all for him and sure you wouldn’t change it for the world, you loved him more than anything in the world but you wished he would take a step back and see how much you really had given up for him.

As you walked your mind started to recognise where you were. Neymar had taken you along these streets during the start of your relationship. There was a small clearing on the hill at the end of the street which looked over a large city. It was a place out of the way and despite the rush of Brazil it was calm and made the world seem at a standstill. Having nowhere else to go you headed towards the bank before planting yourself down to take in the view, contemplating if you’d ever go back.

Meanwhile, Neymar had snapped. He never thought he’d have the guts to do so. He’d stood up to his Dad a few times but even then the rest of his family joined in and he ended up backing down but he knew this time he wouldn’t even if now was the time he needed his family more than ever.

“Why would you say that?” His eyes burned at his sister’s. “Do you all get some sick enjoyment from making the woman I love cry?”

“Oh come on you know she’ll never fit in -”

“Why not?” He challenged. “Because she’s from a different part of the world? Is that why you think she’ll never ‘fit in?’.”

“You two are just so different.” His father had now joined the conversation. “She’s distracted you -”

“Distracted me? She’s the only one who turns up to every single one of my games, she was there throughout my injury, every single time I had the smallest graze or cut she was the one who patched me up and made sure I was okay before a game. She encouraged me to do better in this sport.”

“So did I.” His father stepped forward, looking hurt at his son's words. “I helped you, I made you get to where you are now -”

“No you didn’t!” Neymar’s temper grew. “You only wanted me to succeed so you had a status, you act like I’m a child, always trying to control me and my money.”

“Don’t speak to him like that!” His sister joined the conversation again, her eyes widened at her brother's words. “You know we all only ever wanted the best for you -”

“If that was true you wouldn’t treat y/n the way you do. You can see she makes me happy and even if she isn’t your ideal girl for me then that’s fine but I'm the only one who can make that decision for myself and for the last few years it’s been the best decision of my life. She makes me a better man than I was and if you can’t see that then don’t bother coming to Qatar to support me. If you can’t accept her as a family then I don’t want your support.”

His family stood in silence at his words, stunned he would have such an outburst and stick with it. Even though he was stunned at his own words, as much as he hated causing a divide with his family he knew he had to speak up when it came to you. He couldn’t go a lifetime pretending he didn’t know you were crying when he went to training or seeing how uncomfortable you got when his family gave you a sly glance.

“About time.” The sudden silence was broken by the voice of his mother who stood watching the scene unfold from a distance.

“What?” Neymar asked, his face scrunching at her words.

“About time you stood up for her, I raised you better but you know what they say, better late than never.”

When you first met his Mum she too was a little reserved when it came to you, her mind wondering if you were really there because you loved him or if you wanted him for his money and fame but when his injury almost left him paralysed struck she knew you really did love him. You dropped everything to be by his side that day, never leaving him even when family begged you to come home. You were a mess but you didn’t care, only leaving when you knew he was safe. His Mum watched as you cared for him, watched as you lost yourself with worry and just from that she knew you would be his for a long time.

She kept her opinions at bay when she saw how everyone else acted towards you. She just waited silently for her son to jump to your defence, wondering how far everyone would push him until he eventually cracked and today was that day.

“It’s getting dark, go and find her before she throws what you had away.”

Despite her words being harsh he gave her a thankful smile and a nod, he didn’t need to utter a word for her to know how much that meant to him. Silence filled the air as Neymar stepped away from his family and headed out of the door, his eyes already scanning his neighbourhood, hoping to catch a glint or a hint as to where you were. He had an idea but he worried you would’ve forgotten all the memories the two of you made in this place.

Your tears had dried from the tears you’d shed, your eyes no longer glossy as you looked out onto the city below you. Your breathing was finally calm as the cool air hit your skin. Everything was finally peaceful when a smooth voice caught your attention.

“Meu amor, aqui estás tu…” My love, there you are… Neymar’s eyes lit up with relief as he fell to his knees beside you. “I was worried…”

It hurt to see him this upset but you kept your gaze fixed on the skyline. “I’m fine…”

“No, you’re not.” He sat beside you. “y/n I’m so sorry -”

“Why don’t you ever defend me? I get that your family means the world to you but I thought I did too. For years I stayed silent and let them make snide comments, I let them judge me for just simply dating their son and not once in the years we’ve been together did you ever defend me.” You tore your eyes away from the city and looked into his. “I can’t keep pretending like everything between me and your family is fine, I don’t want to bottle up my tears and wait until you go to training to let them out. I gave up everything for you and I know you never asked me to but I wanted to and I just want you to understand how much I gave up us.”

He didn’t say anything for a second, taking a deep breath before speaking. “I can’t say sorry enough. I was just worried that if I spoke and made a scene they would walk out on me and so would you. I never want you to leave my side, the thought of being alone without you kills me y/n. It’s not an excuse, I know it’s not. I should have defended you a long time ago and I didn’t and for that I am sorry.”

“Do you mean it?”

“Of course, I mean it y/n, why would I lie to you? Before I came here I snapped, I don’t regret it… my mum was annoyed though -”

“She still hates me?”

“Quite the opposite.” He smiled. “She was annoyed at me,”

“For what?”

“For not snapping earlier.” You mirrored his smile at his words, your head falling to his shoulder. “I’m really sorry y/n, I know no amount of words will make it up to you but actions do.” He mumbled into your hair as he planted a kiss on your head. “I promise I won’t ever let them say a negative word about you ever again. I’ve made it clear that if they can’t respect you then they won’t be coming to Qatar with us… or any of my games for that matter. I’ll only return home to see Davi Lucca and my Mum.”

“I don’t want to tear you apart -”

“You won’t, they’ve done that themselves.”

You lifted your head off his shoulder, your eyes meeting once again. Neymar cupped your jaw, pulling you closer to him his lips connected with yours. The sudden feeling of distress left you both as you embraced. His hands snuck around your waist, pulling you into his lap. Giggling at his actions you deepened the kiss, allowing your tongue to swipe across his lips as he pulled you against his chest. The two of you continued to make out before eventually pulling back, Neymar moved your hair out of your face as he smiled.

“Do you remember when I first brought you here?” He asked.

“I do, it’s where you asked me to be your girlfriend… and we shared our first kiss here.”

“You remember…” His smile widened.

“Why wouldn’t I?” Your hand ran through his hair, mirroring his expression. “Best day of my life -”

“Not the day I bought you all those flowers and left all the rose petals on the floor?”

“I wouldn’t have that if we didn’t spend our time here.” You counteracted his words.

“I don’t deserve you.” He smirked.

“Oh, I know.” You leant back in to kiss him.

Although you knew things would take time to mend what happened with his family but you knew he’d be there for you more when it came to their sly digs, even if it was just the odd comment.

Sleepless Nights - Lewis Hamilton x reader

Sleepless Nights - Lewis Hamilton X Reader

Lewis Hamilton x female!reader

Summary: Your next-door neighbour is constantly keeping you awake so one day you decide to confront him.

Warnings: Smut, no mention of protection so wrap up before you tap it, fluff, swearing

Word Count: 5.8K

Another sleepless night you were caused by your next-door neighbour. What on earth was he doing in there? For the past week, he’d constantly keep you awake although you didn’t have to worry about him for most of the month. His job clearly allowed him to travel well, you knew it did. You lived next to Lewis Hamilton, to most girls, it would be a dream come true but no one ever dreams to think of how loud he was during the night.

At first, you thought he was bringing over a new girl every night but you never heard any moans or saw anyone leave when you left for work the following day. It was strange but you were growing tired of it and tonight was the night you’d confront him.

The constant banging sound erupted at the usual time of one in the morning. Huffing you threw on a hoodie and attempted to open the door when your cat grabbed your attention. Looking over to your bed you saw Toto, your black cat perched on the sheets, his green eyes squinting at the sudden bright light in the room.

“Sorry buddy but I’m not having him keep us up all night.” Heading out of your bedroom you quickly walked through your apartment before opening your front door. You hit your fists on his front door rather forcefully. The sudden noise in his flat stopped and you heard footsteps growing louder as the door unlocked.

He was shirtless and covered with sweat. His braids hung low in front of his face as he took a deep breath. His eyes met yours, a smirk tugging on his lips to see his neighbour standing before him. “Can I help you?” He asked, still gasping for a breath.

“Yeah, can you maybe stop whatever you’re doing or whoever you’re doing, I’m trying to sleep?”

Lewis let out a low laugh, looking down at the floor before meeting your eyes again. “Whoever I’m doing?” The laugh grew. “I can assure you I’m doing no one…” A smirk returned to his lips. “Unless you’d like me to -”

“I’d rather you just be quiet at night.”

“Do you know what I do for a living y/n?” He cocked his head to the side.

“I’m very much aware.”

“Then you know I have to train for that.”

“Not at one in the morning you don’t.”

“I can’t sleep.”

“Then go for a run outside where I can’t hear you.” Rolling your eyes at him you spoke again. “I’m sure Sir Lewis Hamilton is capable to go for a run by himself.”

“I don’t want to leave Roscoe.”

“He’s a dog -” Just as you spoke the English Bulldog came plodding towards the door, his heavy breaths matching his dad's.

Roscoe stepped towards you, leaving Lewis’s flat to get closer. Unbeknown to you he was picking up on something. He looked to his left and that’s when he met the eyes of Toto. You had completely forgotten to shut the door and Toto had clearly come to see what was going on. Roscoe barked causing Toto’s ears to flatten and he hissed at the dog.

Roscoe lept forward at the cat causing Toto to flee down the hallway. Roscoe followed, chasing after the animal as you watched in horror. “Toto!” You called for your cat before turning to Lewis. “Go and get your fucking dog!”

“Roscoe!” Lewis called, quickly leaving his apartment to run after the two animals. You promptly followed suit, running after the animals. Toto was much faster than Roscoe. He sprinted down to the other side of the hallway within seconds whilst Roscoe tried to catch up. Lewis was also faster than his own dog and managed to grab the animal whilst Toto ran up into your arms, sinking his claws into your hoodie, never wanting you to let go of him.

“Christ not only can’t you stay quiet but you can’t control your dog -”

“Your cat is called Toto?” Lewis asked, ignoring your previous statement. “Like my boss?”

“He’s actually named after Toto from The Wizard of Oz.” You replied.

“You know he was a dog in that film right?”

“Yes, I know he was!” You held your cat tighter. “Are you okay honey?” You looked down at the cat, looking over him to make sure he wasn’t hurt.

Lewis scanned his dog for any marks caused by Toto. “I think he scratched Roscoe…”

“He deserved it! Chasing my poor boy around like that, he was terffied.”

“Maybe you should have locked your door then.” Lewis huffed, keeping Roscoe by his side.

“Maybe you should have a dog with better recall and maybe if you didn’t keep me up all night we wouldn’t be having this discussion right now.” Tightening your grip on Toto you pushed past the man and walked back to your door. “Keep it down Hamilton.” You sent him one last glare before slamming your door shut, leaving him and Roscoe in the hallway together.

The days went on and you were yet to hear any sound from Lewis. The only sound you ever heard was him locking his door and telling Roscoe he was going to see Angela. Luckily for you, he was racing in France on the weekend so you knew you would at least get a few peaceful nights' sleep and so would Toto before he returned. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until your shower turned stone cold and never showed a hint of turning warm again.

You didn’t have time to worry about it as you had to leave for a friend's birthday. Saying goodbye to Toto you headed out the door and headed to the restaurant.

“So how’s the neighbour?” Your friend asked as you sat opposite her as you ordered starters.

“Still a dick.”

“He’s doing well at the moment.” Your other friend, who sat beside you had her eyes glued on a tv screen hidden towards the bar. Your eyes fluttered towards the screen, watching the cars speed around the track. She had a point, Lewis was doing well. You knew he’d had a rough time on the track recently, not that the two of you talked a lot but it wasn’t hard to see when he was known by the world.

“Maybe if he wins he’ll shut up when he’s home.” You replied, turning back to the menu.

“It can’t be that bad.”

“You try living beside him.”

One friend let out a small laugh, her eyes glowing at the thought. “Wouldn’t mind it.” Without looking in her direction you rolled your eyes, trying not to turn your attention back to the screen or encourage their behaviour towards Lewis.

It was so secret that he was good-looking and evidently had women dropping to their knees for him but Lewis clearly never took any interest, only caring about his career. That was something you and him could both agree on although you seemed to be able to balance both social life and work life, Lewis on the other hand only seemed to focus on work life, maybe that’s why he was so uptight.

“He’s pretty uptight you know.” You suddenly spoke up. “So obsessed with work -”

“That’s exactly what you’re like.” One of the girls spoke. “Always focusing on your career.”

“But I know how to relax, he doesn’t.”

“Keep telling yourself that.”

The night went on and you eventually made your way home. There was still no sign of Lewis which was a blessing for you but there was also no sign of hot water again, something which was not so much of a blessing.

“Fuck sake!” You nearly yelled as you slammed the bathroom door behind you. Toto gave you a look from his seat on your bed. “Sorry boy.” A sign of defeat fell from your lips as you fell beside the cat, letting your hands dance in his fur, earning a low purr from the animal. Your anger turned to a light smile as you watched his reaction, his eyes closed as you scratched his chin however the moment was ruined by a sudden knock at the door.

Furrowing your brows you left Toto on your bed and made your way to the front of your apartment to open the door. Standing before you was Lewis Hamilton. He leant on the frame of the door, his lips tugging into a smile when he saw your expression.

“What do you want?”

His eyes scanned your body, taking in the outfit you had on. “Had a good night?”

“It was a friend's birthday, didn’t think you’d be home this early. You were racing today…”

“You watched it then?”

“Don’t have to watch it to know that you were driving.”

“Good answer.” His smile turned to a smirk. “I just came over to ask you to keep the noise down -”

“Bold coming from you.”

“I’m just saying y/n, practice what you preach. What were you shouting about anyway?”

“My water.” You took a deep breath. “I haven’t had hot water in a few days and I really need a shower, I was told it would be fixed by this evening but that didn’t happen.”

“You can use mine.” He was quick to generate an answer. “Consider it a favour for keeping you up these past few nights.”

You pondered on the thought. It wasn’t like you couldn’t trust him but you knew he wouldn’t let you forget it. Lewis could tell you were thinking about it. “If you would feel more comfortable with me leaving whilst you shower I have no problem with that, I can wait outside if you want -”

“No.” You cut him off. “It’ll be fine, it’s your own place I’m not going to throw you out because you let me shower.”

“Up to you.” He stepped back from your door. “Just knock when you’re ready and I’ll let you in.” The smirk turned into a grin as he stepped back, disappearing into his own house and allowing you to get ready.

You couldn’t lie to yourself that you were thankful for his offer. The feeling of warm water running down your skin felt nicer than cold blades trying to cut it. Reluctant to turn the shower off you indulged in the feeling of the water one last time before stepping out and cutting the water off. Not wanting to take too long and knowing he probably wanted to sleep after his day you threw on a hoodie and shorts, ringing your hair out of the water and putting it up so it didn’t make your clothes wet you walked out of his bathroom and into his front room where he was sat with Roscoe.

“Thank you.” Your words caught his attention.

“You’re welcome.” His eyes fell to your hair. “You know I have a hair dryer you can use -”

“Thank you but I have my own, I don’t want to stay longer than I need to. You were in France only a few hours ago…” You paused for a second. “Why did you fly back so soon? Everyone else is still out there -”

“I like being at home, I know I travel for work and that’s a part of the job but being at home with Roscoe, family and friends is a better feeling than being drunk.”

You gave him a light smile. “That’s one thing we can agree on.”

“Finally.” He laughed. “You know you’re welcome to sit rather than stand in my doorway.”

“As I said, I don’t want to intrude for long.”

“I slept on the plane and the way here, I’m fine.” He turned to Roscoe who was sleeping on his lap, snoring away as he twitched in his sleep. “It’s him that you’ll have to worry about.”

“He’s sweet.” You smiled at the snoring animal. “How long have you had him?”

“Since he was a puppy, he had a sister too.” Lewis pointed to one of the photos hanging on the wall. “Coco but she passed away.”

A small frown appeared on your face at his words. “Sorry to hear that…”

“What about you?” He quickly turned to you. “When did you get Toto?”

“As a kid, I always wanted a cat and I begged my parents for one and they said no but my nan always said I should have been able to have one. She passed away three years ago and in her will, she left me some money specifically for a cat. I went to a rescue and they had a mother and her three kittens. Two kittens were adopted but the mum and her last baby weren’t so I took them both in. Unfortunately, Toto’s mum passed last year after a few health conditions but I still have him.”

Lewis smiled warmly at your story. “That’s cute, why the name?”

“My nan's favourite film was The Wizard of Oz so it seemed fitting.” You met his gaze. “Even if he is a cat.”

Lewis smiled again as he smoothed Roscoe's fur. “You live on your own?” He kept the conversation going.

“I do.” Your eyes looked around the room. “Evidently you do too.”

“My brother comes to stay and so does my assistant Angela. A few friends here and there but other than that it’s just Roscoe and me.”

“Does he come to all your races?”

“Most, if I know it’ll be too hot or too much on him he stays goes to a dog carer, he enjoys it.”

“Bet you miss him.”

“Of course I do.” He looked down at the dog. “I wish I could take him everywhere with me but it’s not possible. You ever taken Toto out?”

“Took him on a walk once and he tried to bite a child -”

Lewis had to hold back his laughter at your words. “How?” His smile grew as you started talking again.

“So I’d seen people walk their cats so I tried it with Toto. I took him to the park in the square, I sat down and looked away for one second and that’s when a child came up next to him and tried to grab his tail and well Toto didn’t like that. It’s my fault really but then again parents should teach their kids to not run up to a stranger's animal, even if it is a cat.”

He shook his head as he smiled. “Taking it you never took him out again?”

“Only for the vets.”

The pair of you spent the rest of the night just talking about your lives until you could feel your hair starting to dry. You never wanted to overstay your welcome after he’d been so kind to you despite what had happened the other night. When you left a smile was glued to your face, and your heart warmed at the conversation that had taken place. If Toto could speak he’d definitely judge you with more than his eyes.

—

The next day someone turned up to fix your water and you later found out it was Lewis who spoke to the building owner about getting it fixed since they didn’t listen to you although since that night you hadn’t seen Lewis much. You’d heard him exercising during the day rather than night meaning he’d clearly taken your complaint on board.

Everything was quiet in your house until a loud bang on your door made both you and Toto jump. The knocking was frequent and rather frantic. “Give me a second!” You called out to the person behind the door. Taking Toto off your lap you placed him on the sofa before answering the door. “Lewis?” Your brows arched at the man. He looked like he’d just had a panic attack, his hands shaking as he held onto Roscoe’s lead. “Are you okay?”

“Please can you do me a massive favour?”

“What is it?”

“Please can you look after Roscoe for the weekend whilst I’m away? He can’t go with me this weekend and the person who normally looks after him had to cancel suddenly. I haven’t got time to take him to my parents, I have to fly in -”

“I’ll take him.” You held your hand out to take his lead. “It’s the least I can do.” A reassuring smile was displayed on your lips. Lewis could have broken down with gratefulness at your words. He quickly gave you the lead and a bag of his things.

“I’ve written what he needs, how his food works, his walks, everything… I’ve also written my number in there… please text me -”

“I will.” You cut him off, holding the lead and bag. “Don’t make yourself late Lewis.” He smiled at your words. “Good luck this weekend.”

“Thank you!” He pulled you into his chest, quickly hugging you before pulling back and kneeling down to pet Roscoe. “I love you, buddy, be good.” He met your eyes again. “Thank you y/n, he’ll behave I promise.”

“It won’t be me you need to worry about, it’ll be Toto.”

“Poor cat, I’m sorry Toto!” Lewis called out as he started to leave, thanking you until he could no longer see you.

Roscoe walked into your flat like he owned the place, he was just like his Dad. He began sniffing around, making himself familiar with everything until his eyes caught sight of Toto. Toto looked down at the dog, immediately his ears went back and he hissed at the dog, not forgetting what had taken place a few nights ago.

“Toto…” You warned the cat who arched his back at the dog. Despite the cat's warnings, Roscoe advanced toward him, sniffing the air near him. “Give him a chance.” Toto looked at you as if you were insane. “This will be a long weekend…”

The first night was the worst, you felt so guilty towards Toto. You were his safe space and now you’d welcomed in an animal who stressed him out beyond compare but the second night was a little better. You were sat on your bed, a cup of tea in your hand as you kept your eyes glued to your television screen. Roscoe was sitting beside you, whining as he saw Lewis on the screen. “Aww, buddy.” You pulled the dog in towards you, his head now resting on your lap.

Toto was sitting on your bookshelf, his eyes narrowing at the dog and your actions. He clearly wasn’t interested in the qualifying. You kept the TV to watch the interviews after, keeping an eye out for Lewis. As time went on Toto inched closer to the bed, clearly missing your attention and getting jealous of the dog before him. Roscoe was laying on your left side so Toto made his way to your right, nuzzling his head into your side.

Smiling you moved your arm so he could follow suit with Roscoe's actions and lay his head on your lap. Your heart burst at the sight of the two of them slowly falling asleep on you. Grabbing your phone you took a photo and sent it to Lewis. You knew it would be the first thing he’d see when he finished his interviews and after his rough qualifying session, you knew it would make him smile.

Like every night Lewis would facetime you to talk and see Roscoe and tonight was no different. The only thing that was different was that Roscoe was asleep and evidently didn’t want to talk to his Dad.

“How’s he been? Not too hard for Toto is it?” Lewis was in bed, smiling at you through the phone.

“He’s warming up to him.” You flipped the camera to show him the two animals now sleeping beside one another without you as a barrier. “Finally.”

“Bit like us,” Lewis replied. “You hated me -”

“That isn’t true.” You turned the camera back to face yourself. “I thought you were annoying but I never hated you, Hamilton.”

“Even when I kept you up?”

“Only annoyed me.”

“Or when Roscoe ran after Toto?”

“Well I was closer to hating you then but you let me use your shower and I forgot about it, I think Toto did too.”

“What are you doing next week?” Lewis suddenly asked.

“Waiting for you to get back, why?”

“Just wondering.” He lied. “I’ll be back after the race and I’ll come to get him straight away.”

“No need to rush Lewis, he’s fine here.”

He smiled again, his eyes taking in your appearance. It reminded him of when you finished in the shower at his. You had the same content look on your face, he could look at it all day without getting bored. “Will you watch the race tomorrow?”

“Of course, I will, good luck, you seemed stressed today -”

“When aren’t I in that car?” He smiled despite his feelings. “It’ll be fine, thank you though.” A smile crept on his lips as he spoke again. “Guess I’ll just have to follow the yellow brick road to victory.”

Throwing your head back onto the pillow you let out a laugh but Lewis couldn’t help but want you to throw your head back in a different light. Ever since that day you and he had sat and spoken to the early hours of the morning when you used his shower he’d taken a different liking to you. The pair of you were similar yet so different in every way, he loved it.

“Smooth Hamilton.” Your eyes met his through the phone. “I hope it guides you to luck.”

“So do I y/l/n.”

“You better sleep.”

“You may have a point, for once.” He teased. “I will see you when I’m home tomorrow. Goodnight Roscoe and Toto!” He called for his dog and your cat. “Goodnight y/n.” His voice turned soft when he spoke to you.

“Be safe tomorrow.”

“I will, I promise.”

With that, the two of you ended the phone call. You would miss talking to him every night, hence why part of you didn’t want him to fly out that night. Maybe it was a good thing that Lewis kept you up that night, after all, he might not have been so inclined to invite you to shower at his when your water went cold and if that had never happened then maybe you would have never taken Roscoe in for the weekend.

Lewis had finished on the podium that weekend meaning he came back in a better mood than he left in. When he returned he’d told you he and a few friends were heading to a local club to celebrate his achievement after a rough run this year. Lewis asked if you wanted to go with him so here you were getting ready for the night ahead.

Holding up two dresses you turned to Toto. “Which one?” You looked at him as if you expected him to talk and give you an answer. The cat meowed as you held a black dress against your skin, clearly picking that as his answer. “The colour of his race suit… smart boy.” Wearing a matching lingerie set underneath you fixed your hair and waited for him.

You weren’t waiting long for Lewis. His eyes grew wide when you opened the door. He could have sworn his heart stopped just at the mere sight of you. “You look…” His eyes scanned your body, words stuck in his throat. “Good… I mean beautiful…”

“Thank you.” A warm smile grew on your lips as you stepped towards him, closing the door behind you as you called back out to Toto. “You don’t look half bad yourself.”

“I might not win every race but I can dress well.” He held his arm for you to take as he let out a small laugh.

“Very true Hamilton, you know I didn’t think you were much of a drinker.”

“I’m not but I do make exceptions.” He smiled. “Could say the same about you, when I went into your flat I never saw any alcohol.”

“Just because you don't see something doesn’t mean it’s not there.” You hit back, arching your brows with a smirk as the two of you left yours and his building.

“Smart y/n…”

“But you have a point, to an extent. I enjoy a drink occasionally but never push myself to the point of throwing up in the toilet… well that’s not to say I don’t.”

“I’ll hold your hair back.” He smirked. A small laugh fell from your lips as you walked towards the club.

Needless to say, Lewis would hold your hair back and not in the way you thought he would that night.

You stayed close to him throughout the night, not wanting to stray too far. Lewis kept his gaze on you as you danced alongside his friends. He watched as his friend's fingers ghosted on your waist. His jaw clenched as his eyes fell on the sight of you both, he couldn’t help but feel jealous at the sight. In his mind, he’d worked for your affection whereas they hadn’t. You and he had gone from shouting at one another to spending endless hours on the phone with one another, just simply enjoying one another's company.

You could feel someone staring at you from afar. Your eyes met his with a smirk, Lewis held his drink to his lips, his fingers beckoning you to come and sit beside him. Without hesitating you walked over to the bar, ignoring him at first you ordered a drink before sitting beside him.

“Having fun?” He asked, his tone bland.

“I am.” You smiled. “Are you?”

“Hmm…”

“For someone who just got on the podium, you sound rather annoyed.” You looked away briefly, thanking the bartender for your drink before looking back at him. You held the glass to your lips, taking a sip. Lewis’ eyes watched your every move before speaking.

“What are you drinking?”

“Vodka Red Bull -”

“Really?” An unimpressed expression spread across his face at the mention of a rival team.

“Have you ever tried it?”

“No.”

“Then don’t knock it until you’ve tried it.” Holding the drink out to him you gave him a reassuring look. “Come on, try it.”

He looked down at the drink and back to you. Holding his hand out to take the drink he leaned forward. Your eyes met his as he leaned in. You thought he was going to take your drink but instead, he leaned closer in, attaching his lips to yours. His right hand cupped your jaw, pulling you as close as he could whilst sitting on the stools.

His tongue darted across your bottom lip as he deepened the kiss, wanting to be as close as he could to you. You kissed him back after a while, his actions took you off guard but you weren’t complaining. You moaned slightly as he pulled away, smirking as he took in your flustered state.

“You’re right… it does taste good.” He moved your hair from your face before letting his hand fall into yours. “Come on…”

You didn’t hesitate. You followed him without a second thought. Lewis dragged you back to his flat, unlocking the door faster than he could have ever imagined. He pushed you inside and directed you to his room. Lewis nudged you onto the bed, letting you fall on top of the sheets. You propped yourself up to watch him remove his shirt.

The man was carved by the gods themselves. His tattoos stood proudly on his skin as he stalked forward. “Someone likes what she sees.”

“Just a bit…”

His hand trailed up your thigh as he lowered down to meet your lips again. His hand ran up underneath your dress, hiking it higher as he pushed you further into the mattress. “So pretty…” He muttered against your lips as he kissed you deeper. Your dress was bunched up at your waist, allowing him to graze his fingers across your underwear.

He pulled away from your lips, his face falling to your thighs. He started to press light kisses on your thighs, teasing you with every move. “Lewis…” You moaned, bucking your hips as he continued to kiss you closer to where you needed him the most.

“Yes, love?”

“Please…”

“Please what?” His voice alone teased you.

“Please stop teasing me…” You hesitated on the next word. “Sir…”

“Fuck…” He moaned against your skin. “Say it again.” He demanded.

“Stop teasing me Sir.” Lewis used his teeth to slowly pull your underwear down your legs. Getting bored of his teasing you pulled the rest of your dress over you, leaving you in just your bra. His eyes caught sight of this and a smirk spread across his face.

“Such a cute set pretty girl…” He let his tongue explore you. “Someone couldn’t wait.” He moaned against your clit as he started to work.

“Fuck Lewis…” You threw your head back and moaned as felt his hand trail up to your bra, tugging on the black material. Lewis used his free hand to tease you, even more, he grabbed your thigh, making you jump before he slowly entered his fingers inside of you. Gasping at the sudden cold sensation of his rings you arched your back at his advancements.

“God you taste better than any drink…” His tongue played with your clit whikst his fingers continued to fuck you. He moaned on your clit, drawing you closer to your high. “So good for me…”

He withdrew his fingers and his mouth, climbing back onto his bed. He ducked his head down once again, your lips hungrily kissing one another. Lewis tugged at your bra one last time, the force itself ripping the material from your chest. “Lewis!” You pulled back.

He smirked, pulling his wallet out of his back pocket. Lewis opened it and took out a card, he placed it in your mouth before speaking. “The pin is 5, 3, 9, 0.” He took your boobs into his hands, tugging on the skin before moving his mouth down to your nipples. “Buy yourself a few sets it.” Lewis tugged your nipple with his teeth, smirking as you bucked your hips into his at the sensation. You let your hands fall down his chest, tracing every inch of his skin.

As much as he wanted to tease you he couldn’t hold back for much longer. He wanted to be inside you and make you cum around him. He quickly slid his jeans off before kicking your legs open with his knees. He took his card from your mouth and placed it on his bedside table. “Don’t forget that.” The look on his face told you that he wasn't joking.

Sliding his boxers off he lined himself up before looking back at you. “Are you sure about this?”

“If you stop now Hamilton I will fly to your next race and fuck Verstappen in front of you.”

Lewis slammed himself inside of you, pushing himself in deep as he nipped at your neck. “He won’t make you feel as good as I do.” He grunted in your skin, pulling himself out and slamming himself back inside.

“Fuck…” Your head fell into the sheets whilst your hands went to his back, dragging your nails across his skin, creating new marks alongside his tattoos. “You feel so good.” You moaned louder as Lewis kept up the pace, thrusting back in so your hips met.

“Such a good girl for me…” He fucked you harder. His hand went to your face, his thumb swiping along your bottom lip as he watched your face turn into pure bliss. “You’re perfect.” He leaned down and took your lips into his again, silencing your moans against his own. His teeth tugged on your bottom lip as he slowly pulled out. His hands went to your waist, flipping you over onto your stomach. Lewis pulled you up onto all fours before pushing himself back inside of you.

He grabbed your hair, pulling your face up as he started to fuck you again. He held his grip on you as he spoke. “God, you look so pretty like this, moaning around me like a good girl.”

“Lewis…”

“That’s it, moan, moan my name so the entire complex knows who fucks you this good.” For a second you kept quiet which made Lewis thrust harder, earning a loud moan to fall from your lips. “I know you can be loud so tell me y/n, who fucks you this good?” Lewis pulled on your hair harder, pulling you up into his chest. His lips ghosted your neck as his hand moved to play with your clit.

“You do Lewis…”

“Who? I can’t hear you, sweetheart…”

“You Lewis… you make me feel this good…”

“Yeah?” He taunted. “And are you gonna cum around me?” His actions sped up which only caused you to moan even louder. “You sound like you’re going to…”

“You seem like you’re going to.” You managed to moan back.

Lewis let out a dark laugh. “Finally found your words?”

“Shut up Hamilton and make me cum.”

“You know if I didn’t want to cum inside you right now I would have teased you until the sun came up and I’d have you begging for me to let you cum.” He played with your clit faster, the sensation taking you to the edge. “But I feel like being nice right now…”

His thrusts had slowly started to fall, a sign that he was close. Lewis held you up as best he could as he continued his actions. “Lewis… I’m gonna cum…”

“Good girl, cum for me y/n.” It didn’t take long for you to be sent over the edge. You let your head fall onto his neck as you came around his dick. The feeling caused Lewis to cum inside of you. His head fell against yours as he came.

You fell forward against the sheets, Lewis propped himself up, trying his best not to follow suit. He took a breath and stood up, plodding towards his bathroom and grabbing a damp cloth. Kissing your forehead he cleaned you up as best he could before grabbing you one of his shirts and two clean pairs of boxers. He helped you put the shirt on before slipping the boxers onto your frame and followed suit on himself with his own pair. He switched the light off and trailed back to bed. Lewis wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into his chest once again.

Both yours and his breathing slowed down, matching one another as you both fell into sleep. You felt safe alongside him, a feeling that felt as if no one could ever come close to you. It was perfect.

Maybe Lewis working out at one in the morning wasn’t so bad.

Charles Leclerc x verstappen!reader

Requested? Yes/No - hello 🫀Could I request one that reader is Max Verstappen sister and is dating Charles. She isn’t a driver but is always in the pits for them. She suffers from asthma and in one career she has a really bad attack thats ends with her fainting and in the hospital because she couldn’t breath. Maybe it could be because her inhaler is empty and she didn’t have the time to get more.Would love to see how her brother,  boyfriend, dad, friends (the drivers) reacts to the news

Thank youuu 🫂💕

Warnings: Fluff, angst, swearing, mentions of accidents, Jos Verstappen if that counts…

Word Count: 6.2K

Max was as overprotective as they come so when it came to light that you were dating his childhood rival and rival on the track he wasn’t exactly pleased. You were having a family dinner at your Mum’s when she asked you to quickly grab her a fork, obliging you left the table and also your phone by your seat. You were sitting beside Max who saw your phone screen light up as you left. Glancing over he saw a certain someone had sent you a text.

Char <3: Enjoy spending time with your family mon amour, I’ll call you when you’re home x

Max quickly snatched your phone from its spot just as you walked back into the dining room to catch him. His face was flooded with anger at the text he’d just read, something you picked up on the second you walked back into the room. Your brows furrowed as you spoke.

“What?” His eyes met yours at the sudden sound of your voice. “Why do you have my phone?”

“Why is Leclerc texting you?” He asked in a bitter tone.

“Sorry?” You tried playing dumb but Max could always see through your lies.

“Don’t lie to me!” He spat, holding your phone up. “Why the fuck is he calling you ‘love’? Are you two -”

“Max now is not the time.” Your Mum cut him off, staring at the two of you. “y/n just sit down, come on let’s just eat. It’s rare I get the three of you here for dinner at the same time.”

Victoria gave you a look, she knew. When you were younger Max went to stay with your Dad so he could pursue his Formula 1 career whereas Victoria stayed with your Mum. You were the odd one out. Max and you were always close, since the day you were born he’d always looked after you, he did the same with Victoria but he was just that little bit more protective of you but he had a reason to be. Being only seven you ended up staying with your Mum until you turned eighteen when you were finally reunited with Max for good.

Max quickly learnt a few drivers had taken a liking to you, especially Charles and Pierre. You’d met Charles before when he and Max would kart together. As a kid Max hated Charles, always complaining that Charles kept trying to push him off the track but as the two grew older they learnt to put their bitterness aside. You knew deep down that Max and Charles still had that rivalry, especially as they were now competing to be World Champions.

Moving in with Max meant going to every single one of his races, which also meant seeing Charles every single week. Normally he would always be accompanied by Pierre Gasly, a man who would flirt with anyone that took a breath whereas Charles was more subtle. It started out with small talk and then he’d show up to the post-race celebrations, get you away from Max so you could have a conversation that wasn’t just ‘hey, how are you?’. Conversations at the club turned into sneaking around with one another in hotels and the rest is history.

Max was yet to know about you and Charles. The pair of you had kept your secret from him for eight months. It hurt to keep it away from him, he was your older brother and the one person in the family that you could actually tell everything to well, everything but this. You knew if Max found out he’d lose his shit and you knew he wasn’t the cleanest driver on the grid at times. Part of you worried that if he found out he’d pull off a stupid stunt on the track and land the two of them in the hospital so you kept it from him.

“I’m not sitting here and eating fucking potatoes when my sister clearly has something going on with Charles Leclerc!” Max screamed, standing up and shooting you a glare. “What is going on between you and Leclerc?”

“Max please just calm down -” Your Mum spoke.

“Calm down? She’s been lying to my face!” He took a deep breath. “How long?”

You didn’t want an argument but you knew it would come eventually. “Eight months -”

“Eight fucking months?” His words were bitter. “Eight fucking months and you didn’t think to tell me?”

“You’d lose your shit if you knew! You can be such an idiot on that track and I don’t want you pulling some pathetic stunt that gets both of you killed!” You spat back.

“It’s not me you have to worry about crashing, that prat can’t even finish a race!”

“Don’t you dare start insulting him, not when he’s only ever spoken good things about you in the media unlike some of those drivers on the grid!”

“Yeah now I know why! He only done it to please you!” He ran his hand through his hair. “I can’t believe my own sister would go around with the man who’s considered my rival, you might as well be dating Lewis Hamilton!”

“Max that’s enough!” Your Mum snapped. “Both of you!”

“So is that where you’ve been going when you tell me you’re going to y/b/f’s house for the weekend? You’ve been with him? All those nights you stayed out late and asked me not to wait up, you were with him, weren’t you?”

“Of course I was Max!” Tears and panic were filling your body at the sight of Max’s rage.

“Why him y/n?” His voice now turned to pain. “Anyone but a shitty driver on the grid.” He slumped back down in his chair as you spun on your heel and left the room, feeling yourself getting short of breath you pushed your mother's bedroom door open and sat on the edge of your bed, trying to calm your breathing but nothing would work. Reaching for your inhaler you were able to steady yourself, calming yourself to the point of not feeling short of breath.

“He’s such a dickhead.” The voice of your sister caught your attention. She gave you a warm smile as she sat beside you, noticing your inhaler in your hand. “You need to take it easy, stress makes your breathing worse and you know that.”

“Rather hard when your brother starts screaming at you like that.” You leaned your head on her shoulder, closing your eyes as she wrapped her arm around you.

“I know but you know Max, can’t control his emotions to save his life… thank god he was never born a woman, imagine if he had a period every month.” You smiled at her words, letting out a light laugh. “Don’t worry about him, Charles is a decent guy. Mum likes him and Dad has always said he’s a good driver which automatically means he respects him. It’s just Max you’ll have to work on.”

“And what do you think of him?” You looked up at her.

She shrugged with a small smirk on her face. “You think you could set me up with Pierre now you and Charles are together?”

You laughed at her words before speaking. “I think Max would kill us.”

“Maybe so but I don’t think Mum would let him.”

Victoria continued to calm you down, meanwhile, your Mum was giving Max a lecture, almost like he was a child.

“Did you need to do that?” She set the food aside and gave Max a glare.

“I don’t want her around him -”

“Max she’s twenty-one, not a child. She can make her own decisions.”

“I’ve seen how some of these drivers act, I don’t trust them.”

“Does Charles act like that?”

Max pondered on the thought. “No…”

“Then why are you so uptight about all of this?”

“Because he might be like that.”

“Then that’s her lesson to learn. I’ve met him far too many times and even I can tell you that he’s not like that. He clearly cares about her and he was raised to be a polite and smart lad. You know that.”

“I still don’t like it.”

“Doesn’t give you the right to yell at her like that. She’s clearly happy with him, don’t you want that for her?”

“Of course I do.” Max gave her a sad expression. “But I want her to be safe.”

“Max,” Your Mum took his hand into hers, smiling at him as she spoke. “I know you care for her especially as she was always there for you at your races and when I and your father split it was hard on you both but you know deep down she isn’t going anywhere. He won’t take her away from this family, she’s still your baby sister.”

Max knew she was right but it was still hard for him. He missed being around his family and all he wanted was for all of you to be as close to one another as possible but that would never happen. People move on, Victoria already had and that pained him knowing everyone was slowly growing apart. With your parents split he never got to have what most children did, he never got to have dinner with the family every night, he never got to go on family days out or even just stay inside and watch a film with one another. It was something so small but something he so desperately longed for.

When it was clear that Max wanted to be a racing driver he never got a day off. He always had to train and that meant leaving you, his Mum and Victoria. So when you made the decision to move in with him he was over the moon. His Mum visited more and you were by his side. He had his family back, maybe not how he wanted but it was enough for him but the thought of you moving away to be with Charles meant he wouldn’t see you, Victoria or his Mum as often. His head just swarmed itself with the memories of being left with his Dad at eleven, no Mum or sisters by his side.

Max didn’t sat anything else, he only nodded, knowing his Mum was right he got up and made his way towards her bedroom. Softly knocking on the door he waited for you or Victoria to give him the all-clear to enter. His heart ached at the sight of you clutching your inhaler, a clear sign he’d set your asthma off.

“Can I speak to y/n?” He directed his question to Victoria.

“If you don’t plan on screaming at her then I don’t see a problem with it.”

“I’m not.”

Victoria looked down at you, waiting for the nod of approval from you. A silent signal that you were happy to speak to Max. She lifted herself from the bed, glaring at her older brother before leaving the two of you to talk.

Max shuffled into the room, a glum expression on his face as he sat beside you. “Did you need to use it?” He pointed to the inhaler. You only nodded, making a surge of guilt fly through him. “I’m sorry I just… I just don’t want this family to fall apart -”

“And you think Charles Leclerc is going to make us fall apart?” You arched your brows at him.

“No, but it’ll play a part. You know all I ever want to do when I have free time is just relax with you, Mum and Victoria.”

“And Charles and I dating is going to suddenly stop that?”

He huffed in frustration as he tried to get his words out. “No, but it means I won’t see you as much anymore. It means it’ll be harder to get everyone round for dinner as you’ll always be out with him, Victoria is always travelling -”

“Max I’m not going to just get up and walk out of your life. Do you not think I feel the same way too? I never got to see you and Dad as much as I wanted to as a kid and now I see the pair of you pretty much every day. Yes if Charles and I move in together I won’t see you every day but I’ll still be at every single race. I’ll still be living in the same area as you. It’s not like he’s going to lock me away from ever seeing you again.”

“Are you happy with him?” Max suddenly looked down at you, changing the subject slightly.

“I am, Max.”

“And do you love him?”

“I do.”

“Does he love you?”

“He says he does, every single day so I bloody hope it’s true.” Max broke a small smile at your words, following Victoria's actions he wrapped his arm around you, pulling you into his side.

“Then I’ll allow it. Can’t promise I won’t start a fight or let the two of you hold hands around me but I’ll allow it.”

“Oh glad I’ve got the permission of my brother.” You smirked at him before breaking into a smile.

“Just wait till Dad finds out.”

“I plan to never tell him, he doesn’t need to know.”

“Yeah, good luck.” Max laughed knowing that if he reacted like that then Jos would hit the roof.

That all happened a few months ago. Jos did find out but thankfully Max was there to ease everything. He didn’t lose his shit as much as you had expected him to but that didn’t mean he liked the idea of his daughter dating a Formula 1 driver, especially one who drove for a rival team but Charles had managed to survive a dinner with your family which meant things were destined to last.

“I wish we could stay like this forever.” Charles hummed as his hand smoothed down your hair. You were laying on his chest as the sun from the outside world made your hotel room glow like gold. Today was the day of the French Grand Prix, a race Charles was hopeful about.

“Me too.” You replied, your hand tracing his chest before looking up at him. “How are you feeling about today?”

“Confident.” He replied, a small smile on his face. “I think I can win it today if I get a good start and we can actually get our strategy right then I can put some distance between us and Red Bull.” He looked down at you, his smile turning to a smirk. “Or you could tell Max to lay off me just this once.”

Laughing at his reply you let your head fall onto his chest before replying. “Not sure if that would work, he already isn’t your biggest fan.”

Charles moved his hand and used it to move your face to look at him again. “So? His sister is.” He leant down and took your lips into his. He’d never get bored of the feeling of having you in his arms with your lips on his. He let his tongue slide across your bottom lip as he spare hand went to your waist, pulling you onto his lap so you were now straddling him as the kiss deepened. He tugged on your bottom lip, loving the way you softly moaned at the sensation.

You pulled away from the kiss slightly as you felt his hands begin to trail up your thighs. “You have a race to get to.”

“We’ve got some time-”

“Hardly any.” You muttered against his lips.

“We've had less before and we made it work… besides…” He brushed your hair out of your face. “It’ll be my good luck charm.”

“I thought I was that.”

“You are, I just might need a little extra luck looking at the state of our strategy.” Laughing against his lips you melted into his touch as he leant up and flipped the two of you over. He ducked his head down and began to kiss your neck. Your eyes glanced over to the clock beside the bed.

He was right, you had time.

You watched as Charles took his helmet into his hands, looking down and smiling at the photo of you and him tucked inside the padding before meeting your soft y/e/c eyes. “You always look so worried when I’m about to get into the car.” He pouted at your expression. He always hated seeing you like this. The thought of having your brother and boyfriend taking part in one of the most dangerous sports in the world which was responsible for so many deaths caused your anxiety to spiral. Something Charles unfortunately knew all too well.

“Just be safe please.”

Charles walked towards you, setting his helmet aside he wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into his chest. “You know I will.” He pecked your lips. “I will always come back, I can promise you that.” His eyes scanned your face, he would never get bored of seeing how your eyes would look up at him with such love.

“You better.”

“I will.” This time the kiss felt different, it always did before a race. It was always a silent promise that he would come back to you, no matter what happened out there. “I’ll meet you at the garage when the race is over.”

You nodded, the two of you sharing one last kiss before he stepped away and put his helmet on. “Good luck Char.” You leant up to kiss the top of his helmet before you turned away to join your family at the Red Bull garage.

“y/n!” You turned back to the man dressed in red. Charles was jogging up to you, slipping his helmet off before pressing his lips onto yours once again. He cupped your jaw as he deepend the kiss, he smiled against your lips as he pulled back, missing the sweetness of your lips. “I love you.”

“I love you too.” You smiled back as you kissed him again, swiping your tongue on his bottom lip, teasing him after the antics of the morning. Charles wanted more but he couldn’t. Not yet anyway. The pair of you pulled back eventually. Charles blew you one last kiss as you left him. “Please be careful!”

“I will mon amour!” He called back, his head turning to see you walk away.

“You know,” A Spanish accent filled the air. “I can’t decide if you two make me want to be sick or if you two are just cute together,” Carlos smirked at Charles who was clearly smitten with the Verstappen girl.

“You sound like her brother.” He replied, glancing over his shoulder one last time only to see that you’d already gone to find your brother. No matter how long or how much you loved Charles you made one promise to yourself and that was to watch the race from the Red Bull garage. Max was still your brother and the one person who’d be there if things ever fell apart.

“Afternoon y/n.” Christain Horner welcomed you as you made your way through the groups of mechanics to find your family.

“Hello, Christian.” You smiled back at the man.

“Did you ask your boyfriend to have a shit start so we could get some pace on him?”

“Think you might struggle this time around, he seems pretty confident and Ferrari seem to have a set plan for this race.”

“Can always rely on you for insider information.” Max’s voice snatched your attention. He opened his arms for a hug, an action you quickly obliged with. “Wonder what he’d think if he found out you were telling us all their secrets!” He joked as the two of you shared a hug.

“What can I say? I clearly have a favourite.” You went along with his words although Max knew as much as you loved him and always showed your brother endless support that you would much rather see Charles win a World Championship than him.

“You should do, he’s your brother.” Jos quickly joined the conversation, pulling you away from your brother for a hug.

“Hello to you too Dad.” You hugged him back before Max spoke again.

“How’s he feeling? Confident?”

“As always.” You replied. “And you?”

“Easy win.” He winked before breaking into a small laugh. “It’ll be a challenge as always but if we get a good start, do our pitstops in a smart way then I can’t see why we can’t be on the podium.”

“I can’t see why you can’t finish in P1 today.” Your Dad joined in, making you and Max share a quick look.

As much as Jos cared for you and your sister he always seemed to have a different attitude towards Max. As you got older you began to understand he was living his dream through him. Jos wasn’t good enough for Formula 1 but Max was. He’d already won a Championship and was set to win many more in his career. The treatment your Dad gave to Max was beyond unfair but Max hadn’t known anything else. The pair of you would often talk about it but Max refused to ever admit that Jos was in the wrong, he just thought that was how a Dad was supposed to be.

“You’ve got Charles for competition so maybe aim for P2.” You quickly spoke, trying to brush off the harsh words of your father.

“Don’t think I can do it?” Max pretended to look offended. “My own sister turning against me for Charles Leclerc!” He placed his hand on his chest. “Maybe you should go watch the race with Ferarri.”

“Oh shut up.” You shoved him slightly as Max made his way to the car. “Be safe.”

“I’ll try.” He smiled as he grabbed his helmet, waving at you one last time as you and Jos joined Victoria to watch the race unfold.

Charles had started well. You had to try your best not to celebrate in front of the Red Bull mechanics and your family but your joy didn’t last. In the eighteenth lap just after Red Bull had completed an incredible pit stop your heart sank. The camera suddenly cut to someone in the wall and then your boyfriend's name was mentioned. You saw his number proudly against the car, you didn’t need a commentator to confirm your fears.

Charles didn’t move for a few seconds and in a fit of fear you threw your headphones off as you felt your heart race and your breathing increase which meant you missed his radio confirming that he was in fact okay. Your eyes fell onto the screen again and Charles was still not moving, the camera cut away, a sign that was never good in Formula 1.

Victoria picked up on your distress immediately. Growing up alongside you she always knew when an asthma attack was on the rise. Stress and panic always grew when you watched races, you knew you should stay away from the sport when your nerves were on the rise but you couldn’t do that to Max and Charles.

“y/n…” Victoria grabbed your forearm, pulling you away from the small crowd of people watching the race. “It's okay, he’s okay…”

“He didn’t move -”

“He’s probably in shock, he’ll be okay. It wasn’t a bad crash -”

“It doesn’t need to be.” Your voice was failing you as your chest started to ache. Victoria grabbed your bag from around your shoulder, sensing you needed your inhaler she pulled it out of your bag, handed it to you and directed your hand to mouth but when you pressed the silver button nothing happened. Hers and your eyes widened at the lack of sound indicating that the device had worked. “Shit… I forgot…”

Before every single race, Charles always asked you to check your inhaler and make sure it wasn’t running low. He couldn’t even begin to think of what would happen if something went wrong when he wasn’t around. He knew how important it was, especially if either you or Max got hurt or into a collision. He also always kept a spare on him just in case you needed it and you had left it behind. The only problem was Charles was climbing out of his crashed car with no inhaler on him.

Victoria knew she had to think fast or you would end up in serious trouble. She screamed for Jos who wasn’t paying much attention, too focused on the race until he saw his youngest daughter clutching her chest as she sunk to the floor. Forgetting that Max was now on his way to winning another race he called for help, alerting a steward of what was taking place. Within seconds the ambulance team was in the Red Bull garage attending to you.

Meanwhile, Charles was on the side of the track, screaming in frustration at his mistake. With his head in his hands, he sobbed his heart out. Through teary eyes, he looked down at his helmet and saw the photo of the two of you. He knew you’d be waiting for him when he got back, waiting to take the pain away and that was all he needed right now.

If only he knew.

“Mr Leclerc you need to go to the medical tent.” One of the safety managers called over to him as he stormed back to the garages. Anger was still running through his veins at what had happened.

“Fuck off I’m fine.” He took a deep breath as he walked into the garage.

“You may feel fine but you need to be checked over, it’s an FIA rule, please -”

Charles scanned the garage yet couldn’t find you. Despite always watching the races in the Red Bull garage you would always leave the second anything happened to him on the track. You would always be waiting at the Ferarri garage for him or you’d meet him at the medical tent if the team had been told that he was sent there. “Where’s y/n?” He ignored the man's pleas.

“She isn’t here.” A mechanic spoke. “Hasn’t turned up.”

Charles scrunched his face up in confusion. “She isn’t in my room?”

“We would have seen or heard her.” Another mechanic spoke. She hasn’t come here. Maybe she’s still at Red Bull.”

“But she always comes here.”

“Maybe she saw you get out and decided to stay and watch her brother win.” The mechanic turned his gaze to the television mounted on the wall. Charles followed his gaze to see Max Verstappen leading the race but it still didn’t make sense. You’d seen him crash a fair few times and saw him get out of the car safely yet you always came here, even if Max was winning.

Charles didn’t say anything as he left the Ferrari garage and headed down to the Red Bull garage. Your relationship was public so he knew if cameras were following him closely it wouldn't spark rumours that he was attempting to sign with Red Bull to escape Ferrari.

“Is y/n here?” He announced to no one in particular. A few mechanics and friends of Max and Checo looked around at one another, unsure whether they should tell Charles what had just happened. The brunette picked up on their uncertainty almost instantly. “What?”

Checo’s wife took her headphones off and gestured for Charles to follow her. He quickly followed the woman, his concern growing. Making sure the pair of them were away from prying ears she spoke. “She saw you crash and the panic got to her -”

“Has she just gone back to the hotel?” Charles quickly asked.

“She had an asthma attack and her inhaler was out. She’d forgotten to change it and they had to call the ambulance team. We’ve been told she’s all okay, she’s at the medical tent -” Charles didn’t need to hear the rest. He quickly turned on his heel and sprinted out of the garage and towards the medical tent, not caring that he probably shouldn’t have been running considering he’d just crashed into a wall.

“Is Charles okay?” You asked, propped up in bed whilst the medic team checked your heart rate. You were put on a ventilator, something you were used to after growing up with asthma. Victoria and Jos were by your side through the whole thing. Thankfully you started to breathe on your own after a while, the medics were running their last checks to make sure you didn’t need to be sent to a specialist.

“He got out of the car just fine. He was walking around after.” Your Dad held your hand as he sat beside the bed, his eyes glancing back and forth between you and the race.

“He’s okay y/n.” Victoria chimed in.

“He should have joined you in here for his own checks but I’ve been told he’s refused a medical check-up.” The paramedic tending to you reassured you. “That means he must be fine.”

You gave the woman a small smile, resting your head back and letting out a steady breath. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome, Miss Verstappen.” She stepped back. “You’ll be fine but maybe this is a lesson to always carry an inhaler that works.”

“Charles always has one on him just in case.”

“No good when he’s in a wall.” Your Dad replied.

“Maybe we should start carrying a spare just in case,” Victoria spoke.

“Or maybe I should remember to get mine replaced.” You chimed in.

“That too but if Charles can carry one for you then I think we could too, just in case.”

Almost like he was summoned by the sound of his own name Charles darted into the room, still in his race suit his eyes fell on you. Suddenly all the anger and hurt from crashing out of the race disappeared and the only thing he could think of was you. “Ma belle fille…” Charles hurried himself over to you. Jos moved from your side allowing Charles to sit beside you. He took your hands into his, pressing small kisses into your skin. “What happened?”

“I fainted but I’m okay.” You ran your thumbs over the top of his hand. “It was just an asthma attack.”

“Love it’s not ‘just an asthma attack.” His eyes met yours. “It’s serious, you could have landed yourself in a lot of trouble, we were lucky you only landed yourself in here.”

“I know.” You looked down, slightly ashamed that you had caused all of this just because you forgot to get your inhaler replaced.

“Hey,” Charles moved his hand to tilt your head back up to face him before he planted a short yet meaningful kiss on your lips. “I’m just glad you’re okay, you nearly made me faint when I got back to the garage and saw you weren’t there.” He smiled.

“We’ll give you two some space.” Victoria pulled Jos out of the room. “I won’t tell Max what happened, I’ll let him bask in the glory first.” She winked before leaving the room with your Dad who looked displeased to leave you alone with Charles despite the two of you living together.

“Are you okay?” You turned the conversation back to him.

“Hmm…” He hummed back. “It was all my fault, I’m never going to be a World Champion if I can’t keep the lead of a race without fucking it all up.”

“One mistake doesn’t define your career Char.” Squeezing his hand you gave him a reassuring smile.

“Thank you.” He returned the smile. “It just feels as if I’m not set to win a Championship.”

“Why? Because you crashed the odd time? The world knows it’s not your fault, fans blame the team and they’re right in doing so. They ruined so many of your and Carlos’ races, races the pair of you could have easily won and gained more points than Max. The season isn’t over yet and if things don’t go to plan this season then you always have next season.”

He got up and leaned over to kiss the top of your head before placing a small light kiss on your lips before returning to his seat. “Thank you. I don’t deserve you.” He kissed your hand again, looking up at you with his eyes full of love. “I don’t even want to go out there and talk to the press.” He huffed, leaning his head on the bed as he changed the subject.

“You don’t have to.” Your hands started to play with his hair. “You can just stay here.”

“Oh, I plan on it.” He shut his eyes, taking a deep breath as he melted into your touch, finally feeling calm. “Although I’ll have to speak to them eventually.”

“I’m sure you can weave around it besides, just tell them what you told me.”

“Not sure that’s going to work on everyone, most fans don’t think I deserve to even be considered as a title contender.”

“Since when did you care about what others think?” You raised your brows at the man. “Char, you drive Formula 1 cars for a living and they spend their money to see you drive those cars, you really care about what some low-life fan who can’t even drive a normal car thinks?”

Charles raised his head from the bed and looked at you with a smile. “Such a way with words Verstappen.”

“I do try Leclerc.” You both leaned forward to one another when a sudden bang of a door opened.

Max was standing in the doorway alongside Daniel and Lando. When Daniel and Max were teammates you grew close to the Australian who would spend most of his time showing you his playlists on his phone and telling you the stories of his life. Daniel had been on adventures you only read about in books, you could listen to him all day. Lando and you grew close due to Max treating the boy like a younger brother. The two of you were also close in age which was an added bonus when it came to conversation. As Lando once said ‘sometimes these old men don’t understand us’.

“Fucking hell y/n are you okay?” Max shoved Charles out of his chair, not caring that Charles could have been hurt as he’d been involved in a crash. “What happened? What did they give you?”

“I’m fine Max.” You smiled at your brother. “It was my fault, I had an asthma attack but my inhaler was empty. I fainted but I’m okay -”

“You don’t sound it,” Daniel spoke up, making his way to the bed, not caring that Charles was now sitting on the floor after being pushed by his old teammate. “Here.” Daniel handed you one of his hoodies, making sure you were comfortable as you lay in bed.

“You know I have hoodies if you want them,” Charles announced from the floor, his face already fed up with Daniel's antics.

“I’ve got a few too,” Lando spoke, a smirk on his face. All three drivers received a glare from Max, a silent warning that if they continued he’d deal with them on the track. “But I’m sure you’re fine.” Lando quickly said, clearly scared of Max.

“Thank you, Lando.” You tried to suppress your laughter as you spoke again. “And you too Daniel.”

The Aussie helped you put the hoodie on, making sure you were warm and comfortable before laying back down. Whilst Daniel made sure you were comfortable Lando grabbed you a drink and left it on the side for when you were ready.

“Thought you would have gotten her all this Leclerc,” Max suggested, knowing his words would annoy him.

“I was too busy making out with her Verstappen.” Charles knew his words would annoy your brother.

“What did you say?” Max stood up, his actions quickly causing Charles to scramble to his feet.

“I’m just saying…” Charles smirked. “She tastes good -”

“That’s my sister you dickhead!” Max lunged at Charles but he missed, allowing Charles to sprint to Daniel, holding him and using him as a human shield but Max couldn’t care less. Lando used his brain and moved out of the way towards you, watching the whole scene unfold with a smile on his lips.

“It was a joke!” Charles screamed, trying to defend himself as he made a run for the door.

“Well…” Daniel looked over at you. “Least you don’t have to worry about your boyfriend being injured… from the car at least…”
