Excuse me while I rant about Haru for a moment:

Haru, arguably, started the entire series when Legoshi ‘met’ her in the first episode as she seemed to be his driving force to solving Tem’s murder (I’m not saying he wouldn’t have tried to look into it without her but his motives seemed to revolve around protecting her).

And! The Shishigumi would have kidnapped her regardless of her knowing Legoshi but I don’t know if Louis would have gone to the Black Market and killed Chief Lion if not for his fight with Legoshi over saving her (I don’t know this for sure but it seemed Louis was very conflicted about the mayor told him and actually saving her) which means it’s possible he would not have met the Shishigumi at all.

So Haru is (possibly) the reason why Legoshi started fighting for justice and why Louis started to actually care about carnivores (as a posed to hating them for their strength) and she just becomes irrelevant after she’s saved? What the heck?!

It’s annoying because Haru clearly wanted to be seen as an equal, not as a small herbivore who needed protection. Reducing her to a side character who only occasionally shows up but is somehow important enough for Legoshi to want to constantly protect her despite them having very limited time together since rescuing her completely undermines Haru as a character and how she actually wanted to be treated.

I’m not saying she should have been the ‘strong female character’ we see in movies lately but did she ever actually want to marry Legoshi? Aside from her working with plants, what else did she want for herself in life? What would she have said and done if she knew about Legoshi trying to capture a criminal for the beastar?

I really hope season 3 gives Haru more than the manga did. She deserves to be her own character and to stay relevant in the plot.

Its just very saddening that people who go "im progressive im an ally!" or are even trans themselves will repeat the lie that trans men aren't murdered, arent raped, and have it the easiest. They say "transphobes ignore trans men" while every week I hear that a trans man was murdered, that a trans man i knew killed himself, and that a trans man friend of my mine was SAed or raped.
