Day 04 Martell Week: Song/Lyrics that remind you House Martell
Will this always be just an arrangement We'll find out in time if we don't break it Can mine become yours Combining our dreams Without keeping score Always together, but never bored No choice in the matter but This will never work without each other
Can we become we (can we become we) Start a new line On this family tree Two hearts connected by one beat Your hand in mine and
Something simple and romantic, I chose a song that sounds like something Myriah and Daeron II would think at their wedding. I feel like Dorne would throw everything out the window with decorations for Myriah, Daeron tries but finances are adjusted, and he also wants to please his uncle Baelor.
I think that Myriah's appearance is close to some Dornish stereotypes that people later have, such as being small, smaller than Daeron, a characteristic that she would share with Elia, then with Arianne they would share the curls, which her son Baelor inherited that is why he cut his hair. short
The dance is also an adaptation of the dance from the song's original video.
Baby Rhaenys announcing the week. The song is We Become We

House of the Dragon Hot Take except I don't care what number I'm on because this is a more important post than usual.
I feel like the majority of GOT/HOTD/ASOIAF fans see this post as "common sense" but a lot of you don't act on it so I'm just going to say it anyway. Stop threatening the actors. Stop bullying the actors. Stop threatening people that have different opinions then you (i'm SPECIFICALLY looking at toxic team green and team black stans right now.) I have seen people like Iwan Rheon, Carice van Houten, Jack Gleason, Sophie Turner, Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, Tom Glynn-Carney, and Matt Smith get treated like absolute SHIT because of their characters, their appearance, their gender, and their acting. It is truly disgusting and dehumanizing to go on social media and see people sending death threats to actors and actresses because people don't like their character. I'll give examples on what I mean:
Iwan Rheon - Has been harassed for playing Ramsay.
Jack Gleason - Got sent death threats for playing Joffrey.
Kit Harington - Got sexually harassed in public numerous times and I believe threatened at least once for playing Jon. He also gets made fun of for wanting to be seen as more than a pretty face and body. He also got ridiculed for saying being randomly touched in public and having people practically harassing him about his appearance makes him reasonably upset.
Matt Smith - People bully him for his appearance, harassed him AND his MOTHER on twitter, and people accuse him of supporting abuse towards women because he plays Daemon.
Carice van Houten - Got sent death threats for playing Melisandre.
Sophie Turner - Got bullied off of almost every social media at some point for playing Sansa. She's also the victim of almost every misogynist GOT fan on the internet all for playing Sansa.
Emilia Clarke - Has been sexually harassed in public and gets bullied online for being a "terrible actress" for doing what the script and director tells her because she played Daenerys.
Tom Glynn-Carney - Got rape allegations put against him on twitter because of the episode where Aegon rapes Dyana. They said that because Aegon is a rapist Tom is too.
I have said this time and time again, you guys are fucking EMBARRASSING!! Get a god damn grip on yourselves and instead of acting like morons who can't separate character from actor/actress go outside and breathe in some fresh fucking air.
it's actually insane to me how arya stark gets so often misinterpreted as a character when she's so easy to grasp. she often gets criticized for being a 'not like other girls' type of character when she's just supposed to be a tomboyish girl living in an extremely patriarchal society that refuses to accommodate or accept people like her without trying to fundamentally change them. it's literally just it, a very basic concept, but she always ends up getting treated like she's a female misogynist somehow when that is simply not in the text.
arya never looked down on other women for being feminine; rather, she looked down on herself for not being feminine enough. she doesn't reject traditionally feminine pursuits, she's simply not interested and not good at them when she tries. she's introduced literally trying and failing to sew, then running away almost crying when she gets made fun of for it. she knows she's compared unfavorably to her sister and she resents that, being the 'ugly' one, being constantly mistaken for a boy. later in the series, when she says she's 'not a lady', unlike her sister and mother, it's because she thinks she's beneath the title, not the opposite.
this happens in great part because of how game of thrones adapted her (badly, she literally says 'most girls are stupid' at one point lol), but it bleeds into discussions of the novels as well and it always annoys me. i also think this stems from the urge to defend sansa from the undeserved criticisms her character frequently gets, which makes people more inclined to interpret arya uncharitably in comparison, but that's missing the point. both arya and sansa suffer under the patriarchal society of westeros and pitting them against each other in this context is laughable. the main reason why they could never understand each other when they lived together was precisely that, the pressure they felt to be good proper ladies (with arya 'failing' and sansa 'succeeding' at it) driving them apart
I'm not unaware that I don't like the age difference between Harwin and Rhaenyra, but now putting him on the same level as characters like Jorah, among others, is going too far. Harwin was not a father figure, Harwin was not her husband, Harwin did not have any relationship with her as a child that we know of, except for events and not even exchanged words. He never did anything and we didn't even see anything that he could have control of Rhaenyra What we truly know is that she courted her at 15 like all of Westeros at her time because she was her heir; and that he was her guard and lover when she was married and of legal age in Westeros at 17. If you want to believe Mushroom's words that he was with her at 16, when he can't even agree on how Rhaenyra spent her wedding night, good for you. If the relationship makes you uncomfortable because Harwin was at least 7 years older than perfect, it makes me uncomfortable too. But it is VERY far from being the worst of the couples in this saga for people to be condemning it now.
Grrm was so unserious when made Rhaenyra based on Matilda and Aegon ii on Stephen... Like the only similarity between rhaenyra and Matilda is the fact that both of them were women fighting against men for the throne and that's where their similarity end . Matilda is not vain , coward, cruel, and tyrannical like rhaenyra lmao . Also Stephen (according to historians) is brave, fighting in his war, attractive, charismatic , generous and kind while Aegon on the other hand is brave true however he is just a lazy hedonist . Now I know they are not supposed to be copied and pasted From their historical counterparts , but i feel Grrm should have add more redeeming-compelling qualities to both of Aegon and rhaenyra , especially rhaenyra she is annoying fr. Also grrm did her real dirty when he made aegon her brother lmao like the only reason Matilda was named heir is because her brother died , so it will make since if grrm made aegon rhaenyra's uncle or cousin like being Rhaenys's son or something because him being Rhaenys's legitimate brother made her claim comically weak.
I have been losing my voice yelling over this. Stephen was able to mount a war over Matilda while being her cousin via Henry I's sister (not even brother!). No one, absolutely no one, in 12th Century England (where this storyline was taken from) would have looked 1 (one) second at Rhaenyra (when her brother Aegon was right there) and considered her claim.
Those entire plot points of the lords swearing an oath to Rhaenyra and the king "changing his mind on his death bed" were lifted straight out of The Anarchy as well. That didn't stop other people in real life from naming Stephen as their King, a result of which is that Matilda is not considered Queen within the historiography, only a claimant. Just like Rhaenyra.
For anyone who stubbornly refuses to accept that Rhaenyra's claim is very much disputable and a similar case has already been disputed in history to the detriment of the female claimant. Not to mention that Stephen's claim was a lot weaker than Aegon's is. All of this knowledge is a bloody Wikipedia page away. 🤷♀️
