I kinda feel like a lot of Snape or Dumbledore hate wouldn't be there if Harry hadn't name his child after them and called them brave. I think that caused many problems because Harry had a lot of people in his life that deserve the same grattitude and never understood his decision to choose them over others.

Well, people in fandom sure try to claim there were better characters for Harry to name his kids after. But imo Albus Severus’ names are perfect. And meaningful on a literary level, which a lot of fandomers ignore. 

Snape and Dumbledore both died fighting Voldemort. And yes, so did Remus, but he has Teddy to carry on his name. Hagrid didn’t die. Regulus was only a distant historical figure to Harry. Fred had five brothers to carry on his name if they chose to. Harry chose men who sacrificed their lives fighting Voldemort and who had no one else to preserve their legacies.

There are reasons why Harry chose those names, reasons that tie directly into the series’ core themes. Rejecting them shows a lack of understanding of Harry as a character and the story as a whole.

Lily Evans was not perfect. She wasn’t the perfect smart sassy pixie dream girl. she was emotional and passionate and vicious. most importantly she was hurt. her sister started to despise her because of something she had no control over. her best friend abandoned her for dark arts when she needed him. she was thrust in to a world that wantted her dead because of her blood. she felt betrayed. the magic that she had dreamed of turned out to be the one thing that took all the things she loved in her childhood away from her.

she became an auror. she was scary. she was unforgiving. the hair red as fire and eyes the colour of an unforgivable curse. sometimes she and james would have fights. James would beg her to calm down. james would accuse her of putting her personal vendetta before friends and family.

but they don’t understand. the death eaters had taken her family. the death eaters had taken her dignity. the death eaters had taken her Severus. and By god she would pay back. at some point even the other aurors would start to be worried. Lily would receive an offical warning and have her auror status stripped down. She was becoming too much of a loose cannon even for them. After Lilys death all those documents would be destroyed. Lily was a saint now.

but when Lily is facing down Voldemort and he asks her to stand aside, for a split second she thinks about it. They are both going to die. she could stand aside and live to fight another day. Live to avenge her family, to continue on her path. But her love for her son is greater than her hate for Voldemort. She will not sacriface her son. Not for anything.
