GLASS

Agent Kartheiser stays where she is. She leans on the rail that runs the length of the glass-walled corridor and stares out over the city. As I walk away, I’m sure I hear her sigh.

TEETH

Vee pulls a chair over and sits opposite me. “You look fucked, baby girl.” “Rough night. Sweet haul though. Got some bonus cargo.” “How come?” She hooks the top off a beer bottle with her teeth for herself and throws me an energy drink from the mini fridge under her desk.

RED

When I walk past the uniforms, one of them shouts something at me about what am I doing after work and his friend laughs like puke hitting the floor. I’m not getting into any fights on Taf’s time, so I tune out his bullshit and meet a stocky, red-faced woman at the exit.

SKY

So we sit side by side, staring at the cell array on the table, saying nothing and trying to solve the unsolvable problem as the sky outside darkens and the glow of streetlights turns the windows a cold green-blue.

*This world is one of the few fantasy worlds I would not like to visit, mainly because it is constantly struggling with a very lethal plague that I would be terrified of encountering in real life and is generally a very dangerous place to live (bigotry, wars, hatred, dark magic, etc). It's very cool for the story, and I love, love, love it, but hell nah I would not like to live there at all lmao.

I'll go with Masen Mavven (Of Starlight and Beasts), Quinn Aurellen (The Last Wrath), Cassiopeia Tithus (Supernova Initiative), Aiden Idrellios (Song of Thorns), Thaddeus Lockhill (Enchanted Illusions) and Alexey Morikov (Mutant Inquiries)

🧶 - Do they do any arts, crafts, or creative hobbies?

Masen Mavven - Masen is a bard! And a very good one at that. His songs are known far and wide, and his talent with the lute is undeniable. He also knows magic and can enchant people with his songs, which he uses in order to steal from the crowd without being noticed.

Quinn Aurellen - Being a high-profile courtesan to the noble court of the Morosyn Empire, Quinn often does not have time to pursue his artistic hobbies, but nevertheless he is a very talented painter and likes to spend his free time drawing nature and mystical creatures. He is also quite good at drawing and wanted to pursue a career as an artist before becoming a prisoner of war.

Cassiopeia Tithus - Cassie is good at making street art - which she used to do as a pre-teen as an act of rebellion against the Junction but also to make her home moon just a bit more beautiful. She is also a very creative inventor capable of creating almost any kind of robot imaginable along with other gadgets.

Alexey Morikov - Living in a cyberpunk dystopia, Alexey likes to find beauty in unexpected places - a habit that keeps him from feeling depressed. Due to this, Alexey has a passion for photography and always has a camera near him. He also like gardening (only flowers) and baking.

Thaddeus Lockhill - Thaddeus does journalling, which he uses to figure out his plans against the villains and also relax. He also knows how to dance the waltz and ballroom dances quite well, but he only does so if he needs to blend in on a masquerade or something.

Glass (Supernova Initiative)

The strange liquid swirled within the glass syringe with a menacing silver glow. Jack frowned. "What the hell is that?"

"Oh, this little thing? An advanced tracking system of my own creation. To ensure you and your crew complete your mission properly so that you can't slip between my fingers again - all of you will get one of these" The Director gestured to his assistant, who picked up the syringe and moved to stand beside Jack, who glared daggers "Injected into your bloodstream."

Teeth (Song of Thorns)

The sound of gnashing teeth echoed throughout the cavern, the creature's thundering footsteps somewhere above causing pieces of gravel to plummet from the rocky ceiling. Roselyn swallowed a whimper holding onto Renn's hand as they turned to the strange Lantern Keeper. "Okay, how do we get out of here?"

The other girl cocked her head to the side, gesturing somewhere further into the mountains. "It'll be fine, I know a way, but we'll have to be quick and very quiet. C'mon." She started to walk but stopped in her tracks holding out a hand as if expecting a handshake. "Name's Cyriel by the way. Though I think your vampiric friend here knew that."

Red (Song of Thorns)

As, giant mahogany doors of the castle hall swung open, a clacking of boots on the stone floor echoed fiercely. His guest had arrived. The king placed the gold-trimmed goblet on the table, carelessly, a drop of deep red wine staining the precious cloth upon it. He smirked. "Ah, yes, the famed Ghoulsbane. I see you found your way to my palace promptly. Good. I hope you enjoy your accommodations."

The young man shook his head, absentmindedly running a hand across his crossbow, studying the metal gears. "I won't be staying. You said you had a job for me?" Despite addressing the head of state, he doesn't bother with any honorifics.

This causes a hushed murmur to echo amidst the royalty scattered across the hall, until the the King leans forward on the table, silencing his peers with a single gesture of his hand. He didn't look away from the hunter as he spoke once more, his voice venomous as a serpent's tongue. "Yes, I do. Hunting down a certain thief of dhampir blood - one Renn Atrius of a rather considerable disrepute. I'll pay you accordingly, as your talents in dealing with such beasts speak for themselves. I assume you'll make short work of this... nuisance."

"Consider it done," Elveryn answered with a curt nod, twirling a silver arrow between his fingers, before nocking it to the crossbow.

King Larkin smirks, sitting back down on his gilded chair, the chalice of wine upon his hand once more. "Excellent answer, lad."

Sky (Supernova Initiative)

In her room on the spaceship, Cassie lay splayed out on the floor like a small starfish, a fluffy blanket between her and the cold metal of the room as she looked up at the murky, almost starless sky above. It was oddly familiar, the sight, reminiscent of the grimy moons they once called home a few years ago - and not in a comforting way.

The room's door opened with an almost hermetic whoosh of air, and she didn't need to look to recognize the familiar footsteps that followed. "Something on your mind?" Jack asked, sitting down on the floor beside her, leaning against the wall, and handing her a vanilla smoothie.

Cassie shrugs, taking the smoothie in one hand while battling with a stubborn strand of her own hair that insisted on falling into her eyes. "Eh, not really. Just thinking - this place stirs up memories, don't it?"

"I find it's best not to dwell on it." Jack agrees, gently pushing her hair away from her face. He smiles "But really, we'll be outta here soon enough. Artemis says he knows someone that'll fish the ship in no time."

"I hope he knows what he's doing this time" Cassiopeia chuckles.

"He always does - I think. In a weird, gremlin way, he kinda always has a backup plan for most scenarios."

I think I'll go with Kane Mylestrom from Song of Thorns - I haven't talked much about him here yet and since I love writing this glorious emotionally unstable bastard of a character, I think it's about time you guys met him lmao!

(Character Description: Kane Mylestrom is a cocky young knight known as the Dragon of the Golden City for his many victories and pristine reputation in the elusive Order of Storms. However, the MCs soon find out that there is more to him than just an arrogant warrior, and that he may be more similar to them than his reputation would have them believe.)

"My duty is to my oath - you will not give me orders."

(Laughs merrily) "The road was long and night is young, my friends, I intend to drink away my sorrows and indulge in pleasurable company!"

"Finally, a challenger! Sparring with that hapless rabble back at the Keep was getting stale. Oh, this will be fun."

"Being brave does not equal never feeling fear. I often go into most of my battles afraid but fight because I know it's the right thing to do. It doesn't mean that fear goes away easily. Now, c'mon, Lyra, your governess must be looking for you."

"Now, I was hired to kill you - doesn't mean I have to do it quickly. Not after what you've done."
