WIP Moodboard, Realms of Loss - The Far Reach

This wonderful mood board was made by @crowandmoonwriting for my WIP!

The Far Reach - a great divide between two warring realms, Avillore and Sarythea, built to keep the encroaching curse of the Lost Lands at bay, ruled over by a council of Lords and Ladies bound by an ancient pact - the last mighty string that holds the land together.

Wow, this has been one heck of a good ride - from ever since I started out this blog at the beginning of this year, to today - and I can't wait to see where it leads me next! I have met many wonderful people here, finding a writeblr community that welcomed and supported my crazy ideas and WIPs since day one, and made many new online friends!

The messaging app (I think it was SMS) on the sparkly flip phone I got when I was four - which was an app I promptly never used because I was too fascinated by that one snake game on the phone. And then WhatsApp some years later and ever since.

Vampires, Elves, and Faeries when it comes to humanoid sentient creatures. For actual magic beasts/animals - phoenixes, dragons, and Krakens!

I'm not sure - maybe Game of Thrones or the Trials of Apollo

Playstation, Xbox, or Nintendo controller layout:

I'm more of a PC gamer myself, but if I had to choose, Playstation all the way! I still have the PS2 I got when I was a kid - and it is still in working order! - and might buy a PS5 someday, though I still prefer playing on my computer.

Best time to get out of bed:

On vacation/weekends, 8 to 9AM (sometimes even 10AM, rsrs) because I'm a night owl that can't function like a normal human being in the mornings. On normal days, 6:30AM / 7:00AM, and I just power through it with the power of sheer will and black tea.

Did you ever have a tamagotchi:

No, but I did like those early online games where you take care of a virtual pet, which is similar. I had a giant collection of the Littlest Pet Shop dolls and Hot Wheels, which I built up over the years like a little gremlin's hoard.

What is the most otherwordly/strange/ethereal (positively or negatively) location in the world of your WIP? Is it somewhere anyone can have access to at some point or is it restricted/unreachable in some way? + What makes that place so unique?

I'm going to talk about the Sun King's Palace in the Clouds here.

It is very much otherworldly in that it has been created initially as a palace on an artificial floating island, made by the Dancer, the King's spouse, who was the most powerful Elemental Dancer in history. It was a show of her mastery, the pinnacle of what can be achieved with human hands.

With time, people's beliefs took hold of it and raised it higher and higher, until it was pushed out of the earthly plane and became another dimension entirely. Nowadays, only those with level of power comparable to a dragon can reach it. Also, they need to have means of flying.

It's said to be a place of incredible beauty, a land of eternal summer, where there's no death or illness. The Sun King and the Dancer live there with their honour guard.
