Tbh like, what's more loving (/p) and affectionate than tickles?

It's physical contact and such, ofc. But like. You could, theoretically, do whatever you wanted to that person - hurt them, make them jump, just hug them, etc - and you chose to do something that will make them laugh and smile!

It boosts serotonin and happy chemicals, oxytocin or something too I think. You get a similar reaction being tickled as you do getting hugged or petting a dog. But it also relieves physical stress too; laughing is HELLA healthy for you.

Like, you're going out of your way to make your friend feel better and be healthier in a fun way! It's all the benefits of physical contact and such, but then like there's extra too. Of all the things you could do, you do that, to help them and make them happy!

Idk. I just. Idk, maybe it's super weird. Or I'm super weird.

But I think tickles are honestly such a sweet and caring and affectionate thing, especially between friends. "Just the thought that I can make somebody smile and laugh just by such an innocent act makes me so happy!" (Quote from a friend)

Also, in my opinion, it's a really good coping method/strategy. Like, ok, any coping method/strategy can be unhealthy if you do it too much or take it to extremes or whatever. But like. Tickling is a massively healthy one, and it would be hard to overdo it, especially in a SFW setting.

As long as it's with someone you trust (which honestly can be applied to most thing) it's fantastic for you (if it's something you like, ofc).

The chemicals and such it has your brain make are EXCELLENT for helping with depression. I know people who even find it comforting, just being able to laugh and let go and have a kind of break from the stresses they find themselves focusing on.

Plus, it also helps self esteem! I've heard things along the lines of this from a lot of people who enjoy tickling - "like the fact that people can look at stretch marks, or jelly-like tummies and thighs and instead of thinking about the appearance of them, they instead use them to their advantage and make someone happy, like thats wild to me" - to quote a friend of mine!
