I'm probably not the first person to say this, but oh well. Here's what I think about gay st colour theory.

So if el is purple, mike is blue and will is yellow, mileven would just make a slightly bluer purple. Maybe this is like mike taking over el, el being forced to be more like him or not being able to be herself. I'm not saying he does this but if El's storyline is about finding herself and trying to break free from the people that "control"/influence her (Brenner, hopper, mike) then the blue-purple thing could be symbolic of that...? It would also go the other way in saying that mike can't be himself around el too.

But as we all know, with byler they make an entirely new colour. So with mike and will together, they're not stifling one another or anything like that, they make something new and beautiful together.
