To be completely honest, I feel like Eddie wouldn’t even care at first that he was feeling under the weather?? There would be you: scrambling up to the front door of his trailer and knocking hurriedly, freaking out of your mind because he hadn’t been at school all day and you thought that some Upside Down monster had gotten him. And there would be Eddie Munson: denim jacket arms wrapped around his chest as he opens the door with a bright smile and a ‘hey there babe’, before he immediately sneezes on your head.

He’s just not used to the knowledge that someone actually… cares about him?? And wants to care for him???? He wants to cry his heart feels like its going to burst in pops of electric notes out of his chest at the worried look in your teary eyes. He puts all his energy into worrying about you 24/7, so as soon as you bust past him and start throwing open cupboards to check if he has any damn soup in this place, he tries to pull you back out the door because he’s afraid of you catching whatever the heck he’s picked up.

To be completely upfront I’m going to pretend all of this is happening after the misadventures of you and the Watergate squad after Season 4, and so he’s terrified that he’s caught some kind of musty lung particle virus from the Upside Down and he’s going to turn into a tentacle monster lmao. Which is why, about ten minutes after you go into his home, you bust into his bedroom to find his feet dangling above the floor and him wiggling half-stuck out his window because he’s trying to stop himself from hurting you. Baby boi. Baby. He wouldn’t be able to cope if he ever hurt you in any way.
