some reminders for artists

it’s okay if you can’t speedpaint like the people on youtube do

it’s okay if it takes you longer than an hour to finish a piece

it’s okay to take however long you need to finish a piece

it’s okay to never finish a piece (unless someone commissioned u and u got money for it. then u need to pick it up, but communicating with the person you’re working with is always better than not! 9 times out of 10, they’ll be understanding)

it’s okay if you paint on thousands of layers

it’s okay if you paint on one layer

it’s okay if it takes you hours on one part of the picture to get it to look right

it’s okay if you spend more time or less time on certain parts of the piece than on others

it’s okay to take breaks between drawings that last long, long times

Story Idea

A story/movie that pretends it’s a horror story/film, but isn’t really. The main charcater seems like they’re terrified of the monster but they’re really just a clean freak and really squeamish about blood.

Like, this person is totally cool with the monster living in the house and going all murder-happy on others. They’re just horified by the mess and the blood and gore the monster leaves in its wake, and this person is just like: “Could you maybe, I don’t know, NOT leave such a huge mess? I mean, do you have any idea how hard it is to get bloodstains out of shag carpet? And how on earth did you manage to get blood on the ceiling?! How am I supposed to clean that?! Not to mention the fact that you broke down two seperate walls, plus the stained glass window in the entry hall. Do you have any idea how much that will cost to get fixed?

And the monster feels bad about causing this one human so much trouble so it tries to be more careful about not knocking over the expensive décor, and the human designates a room where it can bring its prey to so that the mess it causes when it eats is confined to one room and the human knows not to go in there because of the blood and they get some nice air freshener so that the area near that room doesn’t smell so bad.

And the two of them make the whole living together thing work.

Why You Don't Stay Up 'Till 1:13 Playing Pokemon

It's about 1:13 am, and I had the most random thought. Pokémon has 7 generations. Gen 7 introduced Ultra Beasts, and there are 7 of them. 7 Ultra Beasts for the 7 Deadly Sins. "Sin" is a 3 letter word with an "I" in the middle. You know what else has 3 of something with an eye in the middle? Illuminati. Pokémon is Illuminati Confirmed.

Envy and jealousy can sneak up on people and it can cause some serious damage emotionally and even physically!  Stop comparing yourself to others, because no life is exactly the same - we each have our own obstacles and challenges to accomplish.  So when you start to think the grass is greener on the other side, think about your own goals, nurture and take care of your side of the yard, because the more blessings you count in your life, the more beautiful flowers will flourish!!
