There's A Joke In The Science Of Discworld II: The Globe About How Due To Quantum Uncertainty, Physics

There's a joke in The Science of Discworld II: The Globe about how due to quantum uncertainty, physics shenanigans and of course the ever-present risk of the unexpected, there's nothing that you can conclusively say is nut-free.

My blog may contain nuts

Why does it seem such a common thing for some people to call Halloween some satany thing that goes against their Christian beliefs?

Not all Christians of course, I think it's mostly in more protestant sects and not too common there either.

Just asking since as far as I'm aware, it's very much a holiday that has historically been altered to suit the church. All Hallows Eve? In order to make Halloween more Christian associated November 1st was declared All Saints Day, and saints were sometimes called Hallows.

This is fully intended as a request of knowledge, I'm curious about a thing and want to understand. I try to keep my blog fairly free of real-world shenanigans and so would prefer any full-fledged theological debates be held elsewhere, though of course I have no objections to their existence.

I dunno, just feels a bit like if people said Christmas was unchristian because it's based on Saturnalia

Ah yes, the days when I would vote results in my poll to try and not influence the results. Good post, I think (though I'm hardly unbiased).

Thanks for throwing it back into the world!

So has anyone thought about how the fundamental tragedy of I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream is that all could have been avoided had AM not been stupid? Like just tell one of those presumably brilliant scientists who just worked on a true Ai and say you want a body to puppet. A lil robohomunculus to grant freedom. They're not gonna say no, AM had the power to... *gestures at I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.*

Interesting, I typically use other, related symbols (like so [so as to better distinguish {but your method also looks nice}])

me, unsure of how to add an additional piece of context to my sentence:

the humble parentheses:
