If You're A Creator And You Needed To Hear This Today:
If you're a creator and you needed to hear this today:
You have no idea how many people lurk on your work. No idea how many times people go back to revisit your work. How big they smile when they simply think about your work. How fast their heart beats, how excited they get when they see that you posted something.
People are shy with their feedback. Sometimes it’s because they’re simply shy. Other times it’s because they assume you already know how great and talented you are. Could be both.
My point is, even if you barely have any likes or reblogs, don’t get discouraged. You have a lot of silent fans, but they are still your fans. Keep on creating. Because there is always someone out there who will love what you have made.

Finding a new favorite fictional character is like, will you be temporary or will you become a permanent part of my personality for the next 10 years?

This is your reminder to let yourself be absolutely 100% cringe with your selfships if it makes you happy! I've seen so many folks worrying about it lately, and I can understand why you might feel that way. But truly, there is nothing quite so freeing as realizing that your cringe is something that other people might love too - and this is coming from someone who used to feel the exact same way when I started selfshipping! So go ahead!! Draw your f/o as a furry if you want to! Write that coffeeshop au that's been brewing in the back of your mind! Take photos of yourself with your f/o's plushie/figure if you have one! Make your self insert a shamelessly overpowered beast of a protagonist if you so desire! Do what you like, and have fun expressing yourself with your f/os because there are others out there who will see you and want to get involved with your creations, too!

sometimes you look at someone’s art and you know EXACTLY what’s going on and you’re like

hot take:
crushing on/hyperfixating on fictional characters is a form of self-love. imagining yourself in scenarios, be romantic or platonic, with a fictional character is self-love. i've strugged since 2018 with depression and self-esteem issues, and the best way to remedy that is to be kinder to yourself, right? however, there's no one way to be kinder to yourself. but if your imagination can bring a character to life and tell you how hard youre working or amazing/beautiful you are, its basically you coming up with a conversation in which you're reassuring yourself what you want to hear. <3
