Stucky And What If...
Stucky and What If...
What did I tell ya’ll? WHAT DID I FUCKING TELL YA’LL?!?!? Like three posts ago I literally talked about how if the MCU had gender swapped one of our boys then Stucky would be canon. And what does marvel go and do in What If? They make Steve to Peggy as Bucky was to Steve in the MCU and called it romantic.
Look, I am starving for some quality queer rep in marvel but its almost funny how hard they try to show that Steve and Bucky are not gay for each other only to make them even gayer. Every. Damn. Time.

Yes! All of this! I hate when people paint Steve as Americas golden boy cuz he’s not.
Also I have to add that (at least in some comics and the MCU) he lives on the Brooklyn waterfront which was extraordinarily queer especially between 1920-1945. So not only did he grow up around anti-fascists, left wing politics, trade unions, socialists and more he also grew up around a lot of queer and gender non conforming people.
Steve Rogers Isn't Just Any Hero
so over on tv tropes one of the articles talks about how modern approaches to writing steve rogers are politically correct revisionist history bc people write steve now as being super accepting of all races and sexualities and genders etc.
which
is not an argument i particularly understand bc it assumes all people in the past by default held the prejudices associated with their time period
and anyway like you do know the whole point to steve rogers becoming captain america is that he’s an exceptionally decent human being which is what makes him a great super soldier
Bucky discrepancies

Ok, this is so not important but Bucky’s Smithsonian exhibit has two different birth years??? The first sentence says “Born in 1916″ at at the end it says “1917-1914″??? So when was he born? Was this on purpose? Is it just a prop fluke?
I tend to think his birthday is in 1917 because that would only make him one year older than Steve (who was born in 1918). Anyways this is so not important but whatever.

Bucky Barnes got drafted into WWII. He spends all day at the conscription office trying to argue his way out. At the end of the day he goes home to Steve and tells him he enlisted. How do you tell your best guy who just wants to join the war that you wouldn't be going if you didn't have to?

The Ten Rings

Ok so this is something that has bothered me for a while. The first screen cap is from Iron Man 1, the ransom video the Ten Rings sent to Obadiah Stane (it is also seen at least twice more in IM1). The Second screen cap is from Iron Man 3, the Mandarin’s symbol in his broadcast.
The Mandarin and the Ten Rings have the same symbol.
I have no idea what this means. Was Aldrich Killian somehow behind the the Ten Rings as well? How did Tony not notice this? I’m sure he had JARVIS looking into everything concerning the Mandarin. Was it lazy script writing? Was it on purpose? Will this somehow tie into Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings? Will I ever get an answer? Who knows? Certainly not me!
