House of Leaves is odd (even frustrating, at times.) But the story is compelling and pulls you in. Unreliable narrator, humour at unexpected places, mystery, loose ends, with just the right amount of spooky.. It’s an autumn read through and through.

ربما تحصل على مُبتغاك في مرحلةٍ مُتأخّرةٍ جدًا، لكن من خلال هذا التأخُّر، تكون قد قطعت صِلتك بأفكارك اليائسة، وتدرَّبت على الصبر حتى صار جزءًا مُتأصِّلًا من صفاتك، واكتسبتَ نفْسًا قوية اعتادت على مَشقّة الاحتياج، فإنّ ثمرة التأخُّر؛ أن تفرح بنفسك القوية أكثر من حصولك على مبتغاك
