I FINALLY FINISHED THE FIRST CHAPTER

After dozens of hours of planning, editing and daydreaming, the 1st chapter is complete. 6418 words… for the 1st chapter…

I’ve written about 5 complete chapters already, but I’m not fully satisfied with them yet and have changed some of the lore so I’ll have to edit them thoroughly before posting them.

I plan on posting each chapter either 1 or 2 weeks apart, not only to avoid overwhelming readers and lengthen the fic, but also to give me enough time to finish the other chapters and write the ones that haven’t been written yet before the posting date arrives for them.

I hope not to lose my sanity until then so expect the 1st chapter to be posted soon.

I keep accidentally making my characters autistic

I’ll just be writing a scene and suddenky I look back and find a full blown diagnosis, and it keeps happening.

At this point, I’ve just gone along with it, adding every symptom, comorbidity, trait, experience, and trauma related to autism to like the majority of the characters in my writing.

It’s a bit hilarious how obvious it is in hindsight, giving a character something akin to a meltdown and then masking and expecting the character to not come off as autistic.

Although, as an autistic writer who commonly projects my experiences onto my characters, I can’t really help it, it was sure to happen eventually.

I love napping in the afternoon

its so warm and cozy, and the light keeps all the scary monsters away. the comforting ambiance of birds chirping and leaves shaking with the wind is so soothing, it just drifts me off to sleep.

something about the way the hermits try to blend their bases together when they're close by is just really sweet to me. I don't really know how to explain it other than like. it's art. they start out with their empty plots of land and then they shape it and change it and they start growing into each other. the lines blur. it's like they're all given a slab of marble and they carve their own statues but they make the statues hold hands. i dunno.
