There was always a certain shift that happened in Batman whenever he talked to kids that were hurt or scared. He would speak more softly, maybe even kneel down in front of them to personally assure them that they were safe now.

And people will be like ugh I’d appreciate this more if Shannon actually acknowledged what she was writing, but clearly she isn’t writing it like this on purpose/wants us to read this a different way than what makes sense

Can we all just collectively agree that Shannon knows what she’s writing. Like please. She knows what’s happening in her series she knows she is characterizing her characters she knows what she wrote and it is not a surprise to her. She is not as unaware of her own characters as some people seem to think she is

I just saw a tiktok about timkon that fundamentally misunderstands homosexuality and also completely undermines Kon’s autonomy and I have Thoughts.

The take was “the reason we never got timkon is bc kon is a clone of clark, and if kon was gay then they’d be admitting that clark is also at least a bit gay” (paraphrasing). No hate to the creator but genuinely what the flip is this take

FIRST OF ALL, queerness isn’t genetic so write that fucking down.

SECONDLY, Kon is his own person?? Oh em gee, it’s almost like that’s a major fucking theme to his character!! Since he’s still his own person regardless of his relationship with clark, and deserves autonomy!! It’s almost as if we didn’t see a play by play of him learning how to view himself as an independent person!!

TLDR: if kon was gay it would say nothing about clark’s sexuality because they are different fucking characters. Thank you tumblr for teaching me to block people online 🙏
