People will be like Shannon always tells instead of showing :/

And then Shannon will show something instead of telling it

And people will be like ugh I’d appreciate this more if Shannon actually acknowledged what she was writing, but clearly she isn’t writing it like this on purpose/wants us to read this a different way than what makes sense

Can we all just collectively agree that Shannon knows what she’s writing. Like please. She knows what’s happening in her series she knows she is characterizing her characters she knows what she wrote and it is not a surprise to her. She is not as unaware of her own characters as some people seem to think she is

Sophie, beginning in Neverseen and slowly in increasing amounts begins to pick up Keefe’s way of speaking/his form of snarkiness/his style of humor because she spends a TON of time around him and our speech patterns are influenced by those around us. Also, she got older and more confident, so a lot of her shyness melted away. But she is the girl she’s always been—just a lot more confident and making a lot more of the same style of jokes as one of her closest relationships. That is way more realistic than y’all give it credit for

So there’s this huge dudebro in my class, who, yesterday, sat next to me. And I’m sitting there sweating because like… I’m wearing my shirt with the lesbian flag on it, and he’s the most popular jock in school, and always has this look on his face that say ‘I can and will kill you’. He looks me up and down, stares at me for a minute and then goes, “So. Girls in skirts and long socks, am I right?”

To which I nodded solemnly, both out of agreement, surprise and also a healthy amount of awkward fear. He nodded and went, “You get it.”

I said, “Yep.” He fistbumped me, and on went our lives.
