Steve learning that platonic love can be just as strong and important as romantic love through Robin, but mostly bc he catches himself echoing things he did with Nancy, mostly his really clingy moments.

And Steve knows he's not in love with Robin, not like that, so it'd confuse him for a while. But he loves Robin so much, more than he could ever imagine loving a sister, she's his other half and if he gets a little too excited about her... well, what's the harm? Robin deserves to be loved like that, so Steve will.

I like to think Steve (like me. I'm projecting) has problems with deciphering romantic love between platonic love Because I would wax poetic about this boy and when we got together I just realized “oh shit. I don't. Like him..” Like he DOES have romantic love and he DOES have platonic love he just doesn't know how to tell which is which I'm still trying to figure out if I have romantic love that's real life and not stories and I like to think Steve went through that too Or definitely Robin before s3 when she was figuring out her sexuality
