Hi Sig 👋🏼, uh, any tips on drawing yoshi ? I would like to start drawing him eventually, and you're the expert ✨️

Well besides practicing and using as much official artwork, models, sprites, and sometimes even fanart as references to help you get a better understanding on how to draw Yoshi, there are two tips I can give.

One tip is relating to Yoshi's body shape. I remember someone at one point had drew a croissant and a banana as a way to differeinte the body proportions between modern yoshi and classic yoshi lol

As someone who likes to explore and do random experiments on the Yoshi designs, I would often use any kinds of shapes or objects to give a Yoshi an unique body shape from their standard classic and modern designs. For examples, here are the other foods I've sketched out to make some non-standard looking Yoshis as seen below

The other tip I have is relating to Yoshi's head. His face is round and full of circles if that makes sense. I think after sketching out a circle for the head first, it's best to add another circle (the nose) to overlap it since Yoshi's nose pretty much covers his whole face lol After that, you add two small ovals there for eyes and then add yet another (although a bit smaller) circle for the cheek.

Now this is where you draw over the sketch to make the character look a bit more recognizable. I think what's great about this particular sketch is that it can work for both Modern Yoshi and Classic Yoshi's heads, albeit with a few changes. Pretty neat!

I dunno if there are other tips that I have about drawing Yoshi, but I hope these two tips help! ;D
