Friends? Oh, the Sylphs. Lewin watches them silently for a moment. "I'unno," he says. "They don't like when people touch me," he says casually. Osceola had to deal with that at the beginning too, but the Sylph learned to relax as Lewin did.
He's surpressing a yawn. "They'll get used to you." At some point. Lewin could also remove them entirely, but he doesn't want to.
Maybe is an odd answer to give to such a straight forward question. But then again, Lewin is an odd, special child. So, Shiro quietly decides that maybe means yes and begins to idly plan their meal in the back of his mind. Perhaps chicken katsu would be acceptable enough for the displaced, little, American boy...?
"Your friends seem to be upset." He casually observes, trying to make chit-chat while keeping more of an eye on the sylphs than Lewin. "Is there something I can do to help?"
"Great questions!" Lewin grins to the kid, none too worried about the cold he seems to have. "Demon farms were more common back before the Blue Night, but there are still some around. These days they're mostly used for training up lower level demons for simple work, like greenmen to help rebuild a forest after a fire. They can also be trained to be easier to make contracts with but you can't draw contracts for other tamers. You can, however, temporarily give another person control of your own familiars!"
"As for the summoning sigil, I could tell you buuuuuut," he says cheekily, "it'd be more fun to experiment, wouldn't it? It also depends on your familiar and what they might want."

If Dennis think it's a bad time because he's sick, he's forgetting how little Lewin cares about cleanliness. The Arc Knight is just glad the kid seems to have moved past that whole little hospital thing.
"There's never a bad time for questions," he grins as he plops down next to Dennis. "Shoot."
Dennis was more concerned about the Arc Knight's time table and workload, especially since Lewin's lost several days to a random spell. But since he doesn't seem pressed about anything the teen will step into his office without much hesitation. He'll keep some distance though, to avoid spreading this random, legitimate flu virus to Lewin.
"I was wondering about... well, a lot of things." He feigned a laugh and smile while he rubbed at the back of his neck for a moment. "Like-- Rin mentioned one time how there's tamers who work for the Order just to build and draw up contracts with demons, and I was wondering if that was a real thing or not. And also like-- summoning sigils. Does their potency or effectiveness change at all if I make one up with a pen and paper versus just blood? Or does it not really matter? Cause I know the symbols matter, but like, if I have to use blood on a piece of paper to draw a demon in then using nothing but blood would kind of be like a bigger attraction, right?"
He beamed. "Thanks!" And digging in already.
@lewinthelighton said : "Did someone say grilled cheese?"
"I made plenty, Lewin. Here you go." Nix handed him a few grilled cheese and an egg sandwich!
Wow, even before the braces? At least it had been when he was around Osceola, that time is complicated but Lewin knows it was also before he became a real handful. His pondering is interrupted however when there's suddenly arms around his head.
"Argh!" He immediately starts squirming to get his head free but finds Shiro's grip is expertly trained to keep him in place. The scarf only does so little to protect him and ultimately he has to surrender. "I'm grateful! Uncle! Uncle!" Lewin yells for mercy.
"No braces, and no glasses. But you kept bugging me about Osceola too, amazingly." Lewin was pretty young. Probably too young, but it could have been so much worse as well. The phase they had was tricky, but a blessing in itself.
Too bad the same can't be said for his adult-self.
"Of course I was worried!!" Shiro barks as he throws his arm around Lewin, trapping him in a tight, squeezing headlock. "You were just a little kid running around on your own! You should be grateful for everything I did for you this last week!"
