If Lord Astarion Decides To Make Himself A Harem, Lol. Like An Ancient Sultan. Tav Will Be The Chief

If Lord Astarion decides to make himself a harem, lol. Like an ancient Sultan. Tav will be the chief wife. Rather his lovers will control his smooth brains. He would ride a big elephant, among peacocks. And why should Lord Astarion's personality be dictated by Cazador and his worldview, necessarily? Because Tav has that answer out of 5. Tav's opinion. Although there's literally no way to prove that to anyone in the fandom. Either right and everything is good\er\ (Spawn) - or wrong and everything is only bad (Lord) B&W Astarion will be a terrible-terrible father, according to Neil's headcanon, but no one cares or is "heartbroken" - who does "Dadstarion". (because it's a good thing) But if Lord Astarion loves Tav and just rules Baldur's Gate from the shadows with a faithful wife and ally, that's impossible. (because it's bad). He must be terrible. (sooner or later, it's gonna be bad) u delulu and don't get it, your headcanon - ok.

Love is not dictated by equality. Inequality does not mean disrespect. "Degrade yourself by being with him" - thank you, Astarion knows he's not a fairy tale prince, and binds his love to him like an ancient barbarian. It's a phrase that everyone understands differently. But I don't think Astarion would share his bed, castle and life with someone he despises. Otherwise all women were not loved\ not respected by their husbands throughout the ages - they were not equal and could not leave. But men could go and fight in hell for them - Oh, what Lord Astarion literally does for Karlach - goes to hell with her and fixes the engine while he could drink wine by the fireplace in his castle (he refuses to do that in non-romantic relationships, for example, "swapping silk for rags")

Many Doms become Doms to feel better, it's a kind of therapy with someone who trusts you. I wouldn't be surprised if Astarion has this. But in romance this is not revealed. Astarion is very fragile, so it looks harsh.. Fanservice. Even if Dom, ok, literally needs one tender kiss to have balance.

The face Tav - victim a cringe and an February 14th. Ethical miss - February 14 - victim. Or not? Logical miss - Tav approached and chose a wild lion for a kiss, before that sent 7k souls to Meph for lunch. A Doe face?

The miracle of a good DE will help. But with this approach, we have no chance.

There’s something ugly and morbid about how Larian is actively retconning Ascended!Astarion to make him a daddy dom. (Link to what I’m referencing here) Like, nobody has an issue with your Master/Sub kink, but Astarion’s story line dips way too much into topics like lack of consent and sexual abuse for this shit to be acceptable. Astarion’s story is about breaking cycles of abuse, and so for Larian to needlessly sexualize Ascended!Astarion for a subsect of BG3’s fandom is weird. It spits in the face of the character.

What’s grimey is them lying in our faces about their reasons for this. “Oh we made this obvious kink daddy dom material to illustrate that ascended!Astarion isn’t good”. Bro, no the fuck you didnt. Sex sells and Astarion is the most sexualized male character besides Halsin. They did this secure the bag from Ascended!Astarion thirsters. They’re lucky that everybody already knows this is for the Daddy Dom Astarion crowd, because it’s either an obvious kink scene for Ascended!Astarion fans, or they’re just throwing a sexual assault scene at us (because we see how terrified the character looks when this kiss scene happens). Neither is good, but one is more eye roll inducing than the other.

Again, there’s nothing wrong with some daddy dom kink shit. BUT, this is not the character to do with this with. Like nobody would be calling this out if it was character who didn’t have a storyline that delves into sexual abuse, or if it wasn’t between a vampire god king and their established puppet.

Larian was already playing with fire when they went this story route with Astarion. They didn’t have to add the sexual abuse aspect to his story, he coulda just been a vampirespawn puppet who persuades mfs to go to Cazador’s Mansion, there didn’t have to be any sexual abuse involved. I think that Larian went with a cheap “mature and deep” trauma for Astarion but they don’t have the integrity to treat the character with respect.

New kiss thoughts Lord Astarion is himself. It says so in the interview. And Mask-take from Neil that I agree with, he shows his evils honestly and openly. I also wrote that Astarion does tend to have a power dynamic in the romance. His evil romance is given little attention (which I consider Larian's omission), it's all post-ritual, and since Lord Astarion is himself -… He?... Is this pie really that brutal? Then Astarion thought, could he have plotted such edgy things with Tav before? Like, we need a big, huge Lovitar temple in Act 3 to understand and explore this. Since Lord Astarion himself… this could be before the ritual. The scenes with the knees on randoms in the kiss are just too m-m abrupt and fanservicely.

(my Tav's face when Astarion was a red flag from the beginning is exactly like that (no) when he became… oh, when he continued to be)

Is a pacifier better than a blood bag?

Patch 6 has me feeling things. these are just my opinions and random thoughts.

Consort is just Ascended Astarion’s pacifier: an object he uses to feel safe, loved, to comfort him when he needs it. I don’t think Astarion, in his evil route, would likely ever open himself up to anyone again.

He loves Tav, he tells you as much during his Act 2 confession. That he’s fallen for you. A!A will also tell you “You’re the one I want, the one that I love.” (this is different than his “I love you, that’s what you’ve been waiting to hear? that’s what you want?”) And idk i just think it’s interesting he will say that to you.

Also - Astarion tells you that he going to do the ritual so that you’ll both be safe- forever, for good. (He tells you this right after his siblings attack) You can’t tell me that man wasn’t already planning on eternity with Tav at that point. I think it’s very likely he’s already thinking he will make Tav a vampire if he can.

I think it’s interesting how Larian just added to Astarion’s objectification of Tav, and now it’s very obvious WHY Astarion won’t let you go if you break up with him post tadpole.

If Tav leaves him, his ending is essentially the same in the epilogue, so he doesn’t need Tav for protection or help planning or anything like that.

Tav is his pacifier!!!
