For Those Who Live In The US (or Are American Citizens Living Oversees) And Have Any Kind Of Physical
For those who live in the US (or are American citizens living oversees) and have any kind of physical or learning disability that impacts their ability to read standard text, the National Library Service provides free access to books and magazines in both Braille and audio formats. (Access is digital or they will mail you a physical format)
I know audio doesn't work for everyone and some really need the large print format but hopefully this info can help some people. Also check with your local (usually state level) branch of this service, they might have large print books also.
There is an application and you do need to have it signed off by a certifying authority who can confirm your disability but if you don't have a medical professional or social worker who can sign off you can get a librarian to do so.
This seems like a good time to remind folks: if you are upset at the decision re: the Internet Archive's "Open Library," but you don't have a direction to send that energy, maybe consider seeing what you can do to support and defend your local public and/or school library?
If you live in the U.S., there is a good chance that politicians and/or right-wing activists are threatening your local libraries. This may be through new state laws, or through actions by local officials, or even the library boards themselves. Or maybe they are enduring a wave of book challenges by some very enthusiastic and determined bigots.
It's worth checking out what is going on in your area, and if there are any existing groups and organizations working to fight back that you can join or support. (Or maybe even start something yourself!)

the jam I bought was really yummy, I'm planning on buying more. I'm so glad you all succeeded and proud to have been a small part of helping.

laurae, a small Native farmer who built up her farm over the last five years, was served a 90-day eviction notice despite being promised by the landowner that she would be given a purchase agreement and the farm would never be sold to another person. Everything she has is in this farm - she’s put thousands of hours of work into it, built her cabin by hand, and invested every penny she’s made back into it. we are fighting to help her get the money to purchase her land before someone else buys it and kicks her - and us, her tenants who had no access to land without her help - off.
she ships her jams & honey, which you can buy here
you can also donate directly to the gofundme here
I know we’re all hurting right now and the world is fucked. but I love laurae and she’s done so much for all the people in her life. She has nowhere to go, no other options for a home, and no means to start over. she is a veteran, a survivor of multiple cancers, and close to fifty. all she wants is to live out her days on her farm till she hands it off to the next generation of farmers and I don’t want to see that simple thing taken away from her.

A 6 page comic for one of my favourite fics of all time, by the late Nekhen. I love it a lot and I'm re-reading it at the moment and this scene always stood out to me, so I wanted to draw it.
