MEDICINE | Nezu Chuukichi
Prologue
Main Masterlist | Gakuen Babysitter masterlist | Medicine masterlist |

The afternoon breeze hit a black-haired male letting his eyes show from their hiding before the bangs closed it again.
"Tomoya I better get going, it's almost my shift," Chuukichi says to his like a golden retriever friend.
Yagi nods waving bye to his friends with girls clinging to his arms and crowding him, "Have fun Chuukichi!" Chuukichi nods at him and he walked away from the school ground.
He needed money for his family, he comes from a poor family and these special circumstances led him to work multiple part-time jobs which the chairwoman allows him. Students aren't supposed to have a part-time job since the school doesn't allow it but Nezu Chuukichi is given permission.
As he walked past the kids' playground, he saw a kid under a tree with teary eyes looking up.
"Nee-chan be careful!" She yelled to the tree.
"Don't worry I'm an expert when it comes to climbing a tree!"
Chuukichi furrowed his eyebrows when the kid talked to someone when he look up to the tree his eyes widen at the sight of a girl with the same uniform as his climbing the tree.
"O-Oi!" He shouts.
"Here kitty kitty kitty, come here" She ignored Chuukichi shouting, she's standing on a big branch and slowly coming closer to the cat that is stuck on the tree.
The cat hisses when she reached her hand to the cat, before she can touch the cat, the cat swipes its paw on her hand creating a scratch with blood starting to come out from it.
"Ouch, hey that hurt y'know I'm trying to help you here," the girl said taking another step toward the cat.
"Mikey, nee-chan is trying to help you! Don't hurt her!" The kid yelled once again.
"Ah, I got it!" The girl yell when she grabbed the cat by the back of its neck.
"Yay!"
Snap!
The branch she was standing on suddenly snaps causing her to fall with the cat in her arms, as she falls small branches hit her on the face.
Then she creates a loud thump when she lands on her back, "Ouch."
The little girl and Chuukichi ran towards her "Nee-chan are you okay?" She asked, the girl gave an OK sign👌 she sat up from her previous position and gave her the cat, "Here's your cat."
"Mikey, don't run off like that" The little girl scolds her cat making it meows. She then bowed to the h/c teen. "Thank you for saving Mikey nee-chan," She waved bye and leave her and Chuukichi.
"Hey you're wearing the same uniform as mine, you're from Morinomiya academy?" She asked Chuukichi who nods.
"Yes."
"Have I seen you before?"
"I guess, I'm from the advanced class, Nezu Chuukichi," Chuukichi said to her making her grin at him.
"Hey, I'm from the advanced class too! I'm L/n Y/n, nice to meet you." She stands up taking her bag from under the tree.
"Hey," Chuukichi says looking at her.
"Hm, what is it?"
"Hey, you're bleeding." Chuukichi points to her face and knees, blood oozing out from her knees, cheeks, and nose.
"Huh? What, oh yeah" She simply replied looking at the blood, she pull out her handkerchief and press it to her nose.
"You should treat it before it's infected," Y/n nods at his words.
"Well, I better get going, see ya Nezu!" She waved and ran in the other direction while saying it hurt.
"I better get going too, my shift is about to start."

It had been one year, five months, and six days since the day Bob’s world had completely crumbled beneath him. He wished he didn’t know how much time had passed since the worst day of his life, but he knew that it had been one year, five months, and six days since the aviator lost his fiancé, Y/F/N Y/L/N.
She too was a naval aviator and had been flying as the wingman to his front seater on what should have been an easy mission. However they got caught in a particularly nasty dog fight with some unforeseen bandits and it seemed no end was in sight.
Bob heard Y/N panic over the comms stating that she was out of flares and ammo, which caused his anxiety to grow. The fighter jet that was on her tail was relentless and extremely skilled. Y/N was one of the best pilots the Navy had and she couldn’t shake them. They had lost sight of her jet when he heard the explosion and someone over the comms stated that she had been shot down.
The rest of that day was a blur. He vaguely remembers getting back to the carrier and pleading for search and rescue to go out and find her, after that he had a panic attack and woke up in the infirmary the next day.
Search and rescue was launched the next day, but there had been no sign of Y/N. They couldn’t even find her chute to signify that she had ejected in time and walked away to find help. It was that day that she was presumed dead by the Navy.
Bob, while devastated, had a really hard time believing it at first. She was such an experienced pilot, there was no way she didn’t eject in time. Even at her funeral, he was in complete denial. Everyone else chalked it up to the grieving process but Bob said he had a gut feeling.
After three months, he finally let himself believe that she was really gone. The pain was raw and it felt like he had just lost her all over again. It’s like a tidal wave had crashed into him and knocked him into a state of depression.
He’d visit her gravesite every day he was stationed at their home base and talk to her about how much he missed her. He’d talk to her about their wedding plans and how he had to cancel their venue, call the caterers and the florist. He would tell her about the nightmares he had, reliving the worst moment of his life over and over again, calling it his own personal hell.
The nightmares were the worst part. It was always the same dream, starting off with a happy memory of theirs. He would relish in seeing her again, happy to be holding her in his arms only for her to be ripped away again and suddenly he’s awake, screaming her name.
He kept in contact with her family as much as he could, though it hurt to do so. They were grieving just as much as he was, so they weren’t always the best source of comfort. When he did, Y/N’s mom would always talk about how much the girl loved him. He knew she was right, but it hurt to hear it over and over again because it was past tense. Yet he had to continue to love her even though she was gone, and that just wasn’t fair.
About nine months after losing her, the nightmares weren’t as frequent but still happening now and again. The pain was still there, but it was a dull ache that he didn’t think would ever go away fully. He was starting to come to grips with having to live his life without her. Some days were still hard but he was starting to get back on his feet.
It was about a year after her death that a friend of his urged him to start dating again. He was very hesitant to try. Nobody could replace Y/N and the thought of dating anyone else made him feel disloyal. He knew that wasn’t the case and she’d want him to be happy, but he couldn’t help but feel guilty at the thought.
As much as he refused in the beginning, a week later Bob was set up on a blind date with a girl named Emma. She was beautiful and sweet, but a bit more quiet and reserved than Y/N. However they went to dinner and talked for quite some time. It was the first time that he didn’t think about Y/N every second, which surprised him.
After their date, he dropped her off at home like the gentleman he was and by the time he got home, he thought of Y/N. At first guilt overcame him but he could just picture her getting mad at him. “You deserve happiness, Bob! So go out there and live your life.”
So he did. After a few dates with Emma, he realized that moving on would never tarnish the memories he had with Y/N. The time he had spent with her (who he now referred to as his angel) was something he would always cherish. But since time was moving on, he needed to as well.
He still visits his angel’s grave every chance he gets because he does miss her (which he realizes will never fade) but this time he tells her stories of meeting Emma, and how she was helping him feel something again (though he also admits the dull ache is still there at times). He also starts to relive their memories, from the moment they met to their awkward first date, or remembering how it felt falling in love.
His contact with Y/N’s family has dwindled down, not by any choice of his own. They were happy to hear he was doing better and moving on, but after telling them, he was afraid he had torn open old wounds or upset them. He didn’t want to push them to keep in contact if they weren’t comfortable talking to him any longer.
Bob and Emma have now been dating for five months and he just got the call that he’ll be going back to Top Gun to train for a new mission. The two had been taking it slow, but he was a bit sad to be leaving her. He wasn’t sure if it was because he was starting to love her, or if he loved the fact that she helped him feel something other than grief. Either way, he doesn’t want to leave that comfort he’s started to gain.
————————————————————————
When Y/N’s jet was hit, she was able to eject but had been knocked unconscious upon hitting the ground. The chute had not worked the first few times she pulled on the tab, so the landing had been rough.
It had been about four weeks before Y/N woke up in a hospital bed with no recollection of who she was or what she had done to end up there. Doctors and nurses tried to explain that she had been found unconscious in the middle of the woods by some hikers passing by. She had been wearing a tattered flight suit attached to a torn parachute. This only confused her further because she could not remember a time that she had ever been flying.
There had been some other injuries that required a few surgeries here and there, as well as some extensive physical therapy. It was a long recovery, and it took a while for her memories to come back. Some came in bits and pieces, mainly recognizing faces but not being able to put names to them. Then she slowly recognized names and paired them with the faces.
It was about a year later that Y/N’s physical therapy had paid off, and her memories were back. Though she wanted nothing more than to call Bob or her parents, she knew she needed to get in contact with someone at the Navy that wasn’t her fiancé. She could only imagine what was going on there, knowing she had been gone for so long. Did they know she was alive? Had they been searching for her? She knew that last question was slim, but she wanted to hold onto a sliver of hope.
A week later, Y/N was in a Navy aircraft, heading back to the states. Her parents had been informed and would be waiting for her on the tarmac. She could only hope that meant they were bringing Bob with them.
To her disappointment, he wasn’t there to greet her. She immediately wrapped her parents in a hug as they cried and held onto her, muttering things about a funeral and thinking they’d never see her again. Her heart sank as she realized that Bob had also been under the impression that she was gone. Her parents noticed the look of despair on their daughter’s face and gave each other a look.
“Mom, why are you giving dad that look? Why isn’t Bob here? Surely you told him everything.”
Her mom paused and shook her head. “Y/N. Bob was a mess after that mission. It took him over a year to finally get back on his feet and socialize outside of being in the navy. He had nightmares, he went through bouts of depression. He’s finally happy again. We didn’t want to ruin that for him until we were entirely sure.”
Y/N nodded numbly, understanding why her parents had held off on telling him. She wanted to break down at the thought of the pain he felt thinking he had lost her. She was overwhelmed by guilt and sorrow, even if it wasn’t anything she could have avoided.
Her dad was the next to speak up. “There’s something else you should know.”
She glanced up at him, curiosity overcoming her.
He hesitated and she could tell he was nervous to say whatever he needed to. “He’s started dating again. He seems really happy.”
Upon hearing those words, Y/N wished the ground would swallow her whole. She broke down, and her parents held onto her as she cried, their own hearts breaking all over again.
Y/N’s parents took her back to their home, immediately having her go to the guest bedroom to rest. They were worried about her and claimed she needed to sleep. She didn’t argue, and figured sleep could do her some good.
The girl slept the rest of the night and well into the afternoon of the next day. Immediately after waking up, she went straight to the kitchen, where her parents were sitting at the table. “Good morning sweetie, how did you sleep?”
Y/N shrugged as she fixed herself a cup of coffee. “Fine I guess, considering everything.”
Her parents gave her sympathetic glances that she tried to avoid. After she was done getting the coffee to her liking, she sat down at the table.
Her dad pushed his glasses up further on the bridge of his nose as he prepared to speak to her. “You should reach out to Bob today. I know it’s going to come as a shock, but I think he needs to know.”
Y/N swallowed the lump in her throat as she stared down at the untouched mug of coffee. “You said he’s happy right? He’s moving on and living his life?”
Her mom nodded, not sure where her daughter was going with this. Y/N sighed and continued on. “I'm not going to call him. Nobody else calls him, you understand? I can’t take away that happiness from him if he just got it back. I think telling him would only make things worse for him, not better.”
Her parents looked at each other shocked, not expecting that response. Her mom immediately shook her head. “Y/N, he needs to know. He deserves to know, and if he finds out through a picture on Instagram or some sort of Facebook post, that’s going to hurt him way more than hearing it from you.”
Y/N had always been stubborn and she was not about to back down from this. “My decision is final. No one tells him. I’m not going to ruin everything he’s worked to rebuild.”
She stood up and walked back to her room, ready to grieve a little more for the life she had lost. It was selfish, but she wished that she had heard Bob was still grieving her. That way she’d have an excuse to reach out to him and comfort him. As selfish as she wanted to be, she knew that her sweet Bob deserved every ounce of happiness, and she was not about to destroy that.
————————————————————————
Y/N had been laying low, not reaching out to many people, fearing that it would somehow get back to Bob that she was very much alive. So while she was camped out at her parents house, all she could think about was how ready she was to get back out and fly. She was bored out of her mind.
Y/N was not offered anything right away, much to her dismay. When the Navy finally did reach out, it was to offer her a consulting assignment for a mission that would bring in the best that Top Gun had seen. She jumped at the chance, not wanting to wallow in self pity anymore.
Upon arriving in San Diego, she was hit with the memories of being here years ago while attending Top Gun. She and Bob had known each other prior to attending, but they were in the same class and had started dating at that time. The two were then lucky enough to be stationed together after that.
Once she got to the rental house, she debated on whether to go to the Hard Deck for old times sake, or to stay in and get some rest for the first day of training. She had to be up early for a meeting with the captain who would lead the training so she could be filled in. She opted for the later option, and headed straight to bed.
The next morning she was up and ready before the sun had even had a chance to rise. She made her way to the base, and headed straight to the briefing room that Captain Mitchell had asked her to meet him in. She had arrived slightly earlier than she needed to be, but she didn’t want to take any chances.
Maverick arrived fifteen minutes after she did and introduced himself to her. “I’m Captain Mitchell, but you can call me Mav.”
She gladly greeted him back with a handshake. “Lt. Y/L/N. Nice to meet you.” She had heard of him and his reputation from other people she knew, and she was excited to actually see him in action.
He started by explaining the parameters of the mission, which she agreed were unlike anything she had ever seen. He then brought up the same slide shown to him with all the aviators. She recognized a few people she recognized, but her heart dropped when she saw one particular face, Bob. How had she not considered that he would be there? He was one of the best WSO’s out there.
She felt her heart rate accelerating, beads of sweat forming on the top of her head. She was now regretting everything. She knows that as soon as Bob sees her, things aren’t going to be pretty. Maverick noticed that the girl's hands were shaking and gave her a look of concern. “Hey, you alright?”
She nodded her head, not sure how to explain what had her so nervous. “Yeah, I think I’m just nervous about being back after everything.”
Maverick didn’t buy it, but didn’t want to push. After they were done going over Mav’s plans for the day, he told her that he would bring her up to the front to introduce her once he went over those plans with the team.
————————————————————————
Y/N stood off to the side at the back of the hangar, as Maverick was up front introducing himself. She could see the back of Bob’s head from where she was standing. Her stomach was in knots, knowing that in a few minutes, everything was going to change for both of them.
As Maverick finished explaining what they were doing that day, Admiral Simpson and Admiral Bates made their exit. Pete then told the group that there would be a consultant on the ground to provide tips and answer questions after their dog fights. “I’m going to have you go get suited up and meet me out at the tarmac in twenty minutes, but first please welcome Lt. Y/F/N Y/L/N. Callsign Y/C/S.”
Bob’s head snapped up at the name. His face drained of all color as he watched the girl he had believed to be dead, walk up to the front and stand next to Maverick. She actively avoided eye contact with him, so he knew she was aware that he was there.
“Alright everyone, go get suited up and meet me out there.”
Bob began to feel queasy and it felt like he was having one of his nightmares again. That had to be the case, there was no way he wasn’t dreaming. He pinched his arm, but that didn’t do anything. Phoenix gave him a curious glance as his breathing sped up, his head becoming light. Why wasn’t he waking up from this dream?
“Bob, are you okay? You look like you’re about to pass out.”
He wasn’t sure who said it, he barely heard the words over the ringing in his ears. He stood up and walked over to Y/N who now had her eyes on him, filled with sorrow and regret. He reached out and cupped her cheek, feeling her soft skin beneath his own for the first time in over a year, her eyes closing at his touch. “You’re-you’re real.”
Maverick looked between the two with confusion “Bob, what are you doing?”
Bob ignored Maverick, and he felt the stares of his peers behind him, but he ignored them as well. “How are you here? You died.”
Y/N’s eyes slowly opened as she let out the breath she had been holding in. Glancing around at all the aviators she could tell they seemed bewildered by his behavior. “Bob, let’s go somewhere else to discuss this, please.”
He stepped back and dropped his hand upon hearing her voice, he wasn’t sure if he was happy or angry to hear it. How could she be here? It didn’t make any sense. And why didn't he know? “No, I don’t know what the fuck is going on here, but I think I deserve an explanation.”
His face was contorted with anger and hurt. “I’ll ask this again, how are you alive?”
“I survived the explosion. Upon landing, I was injured badly. Some people hiking nearby found me and got me to the hospital. When I finally woke up, I had no memory of who I was or how I got there. My recovery both physically and mentally took about a year. I’ve been back at my parents place for a few months now.”
“And you didn’t think to contact me and let me know you were alive once you remembered who you were or when you got back to the states?? You didn’t think I deserved that common courtesy as your fiancé?”
A few gasps and an “Oh shit” could be heard from the other pilots.
“This really isn’t the time or the place, Bob. Can we please go somewhere more private?” Y/N’s heart was breaking at the sight in front of her. She knew it was entirely her fault, which made it that much worse. It was truly a rare sight to see Bob full of so much anger.
He shook his head, enraged that she wouldn’t answer his questions. He ran his fingers through his hair, trying to figure out what to say next to get her to speak, but she finally took the hint and continued.
“Bob, I need you to hear me out.”
He scoffed in response, annoyed that she felt he owed her that much, but he listened anyway and motioned for her to continue, not caring that everyone else was around to hear this.
“I wanted to reach out at first. When you weren’t there on the tarmac as soon as I landed, I was heartbroken. But my parents explained that they wanted to wait to tell you until they knew for sure that I was alive. They didn’t want to put you through that pain again. I didn’t reach out because my parents had told me you had moved on. They said you were just starting to get back on your feet and I just couldn’t ruin that for you. All I’ve ever wanted is to see you happy.”
His jaw tightened as he listened to her. She may have believed what she was saying, but he felt there was a deeper reason. “No, you didn’t reach out because you’re selfish. You should have told me. Your parents should have told me! I visit your gravesite almost every day to talk to you. I woke up countless nights from nightmares of losing you over and over again. There’s been a constant dull ache for the last nine months that I didn’t think would ever go away. So you know what? You’re selfish, because all of that could have ended if you had just called me. But you heard I had moved on and you were afraid that I wouldn’t need you or want you anymore. And you know what? You’re right. I don’t need you. Emma would never hurt me the way you have.”
He saw the heartbreak flash across Y/N’s face, but he was too upset to care. Rooster and Phoenix both came up to Bob and Phoenix placed a gentle hand on his arm to lead him out. “Bob, I think you need to cool off.”
He shrugged her hand off and stormed out of the room. The other aviators gave Y/N a sympathetic look before following him out. Pete approached her cautiously. “Why don’t you take the next few days off. I think you need it, and I really need Bob up there with a clear mind. I’ll call you back when I feel it’s okay for the both of you to be near one another.”
Y/N nodded in understanding and held her tears in until she had made it out to her car. Remorse overcame her, knowing he was right. She didn’t want to ruin his happiness, but she had also been afraid that he wouldn’t need her anymore, and that would have killed her.
————————————————————————
Following Mav’s orders, she stayed home and waited for his call. She was going insane wanting to do something useful, but also to talk to Bob and apologize.
On the fourth day of not hearing from Maverick, she was wondering if she’d even be called back. Her return had caused such a stir that she was afraid they’d consider it to be too much of a liability. However, that night he called her and told her that she was needed.
Y/N went in the next day and helped Mav and the other pilots with whatever she could. They’d ask her questions and she’d provide tips based on their performance. However, Bob avoided her at all costs. She couldn’t blame him but that didn’t mean it hurt any less.
This continues on until the last week before the mission. After Iceman’s funeral, Admiral Simpson had decided Maverick would no longer be training, and because of that he’d no longer need her to consult. He did offer to let her go through another training program after the mission so that she could get back to flying, recognizing the talent she held. She accepted the offer, excited to start moving on with her life. If Bob could do it, so could she.
A day or two after the pilots were scheduled to return from the mission, Y/N had been out for a walk trying to clear her mind. The sun had set and it had started to rain by the time she was making her way home.
Upon reaching her house she found Bob sitting on her front steps, soaking wet from the rain. “Bob? What are you doing here? How did you find me?”
He stood up as she approached him, and he didn’t answer at first, he just stared at her and she shrunk under his gaze, suddenly feeling very self aware. “I mourned you Y/N. We had a funeral and I mourned you for over a year.” His voice gave away the heartache and confusion he was feeling. She was sure that there were tears mixed with the rain, falling down his cheeks.
She nodded as she felt tears gathering in the corner of her eyes. “I know.” She shifted her eyes to look down at her feet, overwhelmed by all the emotions that were shared between the two.
He spoke up once again, wanting to get everything off his chest. “The mission we just finished got me thinking. The dog fight we got caught in with the SAMs took me back to the day I thought I lost you. And I thought I wasn’t going to make it back to you this time. But I’m here and I’m not passing up that chance.”
Y/N’s eyes were wide as she took in every word. A crack of thunder caused her to jump and she suddenly remembered that they were standing out in the rain. She grabbed his hand and pulled him up her front steps, unlocking her door shortly after. The two made their way inside, soaked head to toe.
“Ummm, I have a pair of your old sweats and sweatshirt that you left at my parents place from the last time we visited them together. I can go grab them if you want to change. I couldn’t bring myself to get rid of them…”
He only nodded, so she went back to her bedroom to get the clothes. Y/N grabbed the clothes out of her drawer and turned around to see Bob had followed her back there. She handed them to him and he hesitated before taking them. He set them down on the top of her dresser and reached up to cup her cheek. She leaned into his touch, wanting to soak up every last moment.
He glanced down at her lips and leaned forward slightly. She pulled back, “Bob, you have a girlfriend.”
Moving his hand down to the nape of her neck he shook his head. “Didn’t you hear me out there? I wanted to come back to you. I ended things with her weeks ago. It wasn’t fair to her to continue things if I was constantly thinking about you.”
Y/N frowned, “But she helped you move on. You obviously had feelings for her.”
“I loved the fact that I had a distraction from missing you. You’re the only girl I’ve ever loved. It might take me a while to fully trust you again, but I sure do want to try. I’m sorry I said I didn’t want you. I only said it to hurt you because you had hurt me. I wished every night for at least one last day with you and now I have the chance, I’m not taking that for granted.”
Y/N’s heart sped up at his confession. “I missed you so much. I’m so sorry, for everything.” A few tears trickled down her cheeks as she hung her head avoiding his gaze. She thought about how badly she had hurt him and she felt ashamed. He tilted her head up with his fingers then reached up to wipe her tears away. “Hey, look at me. We’ll be able to move past this.”
She peered at him with adoration while feeling frustrated with herself. “Here you are comforting me and I don’t even deserve it. You’re too good for me.”
His gaze never left hers and he set his hands on either side of her waist. “You’re all that I want. “
She felt the butterflies erupt in her stomach at his words. She gripped his shirt, pulling him closer and kissing him with everything she had in her. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, moving his lips against hers. He couldn’t believe he was here with her, after everything he had gone through the past year.
Bob gripped the back of Y/N’s thighs and lifted her up to have her sitting on top of the dresser, moving her legs apart to stand between them. He pulled away briefly, looking at her intensely. His hands slid underneath her shirt, grazing her stomach softly. “God, you’re beautiful.”
She whimpered softly and pulled him in, pressing her lips against his once more. He willingly obliged, deepening the kiss, relishing in the fact that he could feel her again. She reached down to start lifting his shirt up. He broke apart to help lift it over his head, discarding it somewhere beside them.
Bob then focused on helping her remove her top, wanting to get rid of the barriers between them. He stopped to admire the girl in front of him. Her body now had a few scars, the indicator of how bad the accident had been. He traced his finger along one of the scars on her stomach and she bit her lip while watching him.
“You know, I started calling you my angel. I think it still fits.”
Bob then wrapped Y/N’s legs around him and picked her up, taking her to the bed, laying her flat on her back. He hovered over the girl, taking in a sight he hadn’t seen in so long. The thought alone made him nervous, like it was their first time together all over again. “Tell me if you want to stop. I know it’s been a long time, so we don’t have to do anything-”
Y/N propped herself up and put a finger to his lips, shaking her head. “I know you and you’re getting in your own head. I want this, Bob. I want you.”
Bob could only nod as he pushed her back so that she was flat beneath him once more. “I’ll give you anything you want, angel.”

Sunlight peeked through the curtains of Y/N’s bedroom, causing her to stir. Her eyelids fluttered open and she took in her surroundings. Once wet clothes that were now mostly dry scattered the floor of her room. A familiar arm was draped around her waist, Bob’s bare chest pressed against her back.
Her thoughts drifted to last night and she couldn’t help but smile. She knew it would take time to fully gain Bob’s trust, but she knew that it would be worth working for. She felt him stir behind her and a delicate kiss was placed on her bare shoulder.
“Good morning, angel.”
“Good morning, my love.”
He nuzzled his head into the crook of her neck. “Please tell me this isn’t a dream, that you’re really here.”
She laced her fingers with his to reassure him, “I’m here, and I’m not leaving you unless you tell me to.”
She turned to lay on her back so she could get a good look at him. His hair was messy, and he was missing his signature glasses (the glasses she absolutely adored). “I know we still have a lot to talk about, especially since it’s been over a year. We’re both different people than we were back then, but you have no idea how much last night meant to me. How much you mean to me. I love you so much.”
He placed a hand on her cheek delicately and leaned in to press a soft kiss against her lips briefly.
“I love you too. Never stopped. I could choose to spend my time being angry with you, but I see no point. Life has given me a second chance with you and I’m not going to waste it. So you’re stuck with me.”
She smiled as she leaned into his touch. “I can’t think of anything I’d want more.”
