Announcing The 100 Rare Pairs Event, an 11 day event celebrating rare pairs in The 100 fandom, and encouraging the creation of fanworks for these rare pairings. Attention fic writers, fan artists, creators of gif sets, manips and vids this is an opportunity to create and share fanworks for your favorite rare pairing.  The event will take place from June 24 – July 4, 2018.  Each day will feature two rare pairs:

I am a little confused.  Everyone is saying the Caryl ship is dead, why? Because she held Ezekiel’s hand when she was having an emotional moment?   Ezekiel is her friend. ( I would also argue that they are co-parenting a child together, Henry.)  Now, I don’t know where the show is going, I haven’t read any spoilers, are they going to pair up Carol and Ezekiel? I don’t know.  Are they pairing up Daryl and Rosita?  Again, I don’t know.   But, I think it is a little premature to say the ship is dead. 

I know I am one of the few Caryl shippers that also ships Carzekiel , so I will be interested either way. If they go the Carzekiel route I know it is destined for tragedy, because I know Ezekiel’s eventual fate from the comics.  This is one of the major worries I have about the ship because Carol has already been through so much, but she does seem to be getting better, finding a way to accept herself and the things she can’t control.

However, I do understand the frustration of Caryl shippers, and how they feel the show has been ship-baiting them for years, their points are more then valid, and the way the AMC marketing team has been raising their hopes each season (especially season 8) before the episodes themselves let them down is more than cruel.  What I will say, is that the only way that a possible canon ship every really dies, is if one of the characters dies. Both Carol and Daryl are alive and kicking, and this show is not ending anytime soon, so there is still hope.

P.S. I am not sure if I am saying any of this right, if most fans decide they are done with the fandom know that I will miss you, but I will continue to follow you.  I have discovered some other great fandoms and amazing ships by following Caryl blogs.  I found out about Kabby and started to watch The 100, I learned about Falice and started watching Riverdale, both because of tumblr blogs that originally focused on Caryl.
