cold take: bnha would've been a massively better anime without m*neta

hot take: bnha would've been a massively better anime with deku and todoroki staying on as leads but having them share the lead ensemble cast with uraraka and iida, giving the latter two massively more screentime while still allowing the former two to maintain much of their storylines

hottest take that i'm not even sure anyone other than me would agree with: bnha would've been a massively better anime with bakugo as comic relief rather than main character status, as imo he's always worked best in comedic situations and that way he can still be popular in more of an ensemble darkhorse funny asshole sort of way

cold take wouldn’t solve anything tbh. hot take is what SHOULD have happened hottest take would be fine except Bakugou would still exist unless there was a massive rewrite of his character where he slowly becomes a has-been and is dangling on with delusions and started out as this Gaston character exclusively and not Izuku’s bully but just a huge blowhard that Izuku admired so much at first but then grows out of his admiration phase and he realizes Bakugou isn’t all that he was cracked up to be and he eventually becomes the role Monoma now fills Izuku doesn’t have to hate him just be disappointed in him and pity him anyway that’s my opinion sorry about that but honestly continue cooking OP

Stuff like this is what made me like Aizawa less and less…

Exhibit A of how Aizawa's decision to pair Izuku and Bakugou was only intended for Bakugou's growth. There is no mention or concern about how Bakugou's presence stunts Izuku's growth as well. He was only concerned about Bakugou's personal stagnation.

The dadzawa characterization seems to have poisoned a lot of the fandom to Aizawa's actual earlier characterization. At least early on, Aizawa primarily treats Izuku as a burden, a strawman to tear down about All Might's brand of heroics, or as an obstacle to Bakugou's character development.
