Hello there friendo, I am here to partake in some good ol Shang Tsimping :'D

Some headcanons pls, how would Shang go about with a partner who pampers him? Gifts him clothes made of fine fabrics, insists on spoiling him with homemade meals when he comes back from being away for some unsavory business, brings him the head of his enemies on a silver plate, you know, just an overall caring and doting partner to the ol snake :v

also, it’s about time I wrote for Shang again. my dearly beloved 🥴

Shang will let his special person lay it on as thick as they please — these things don't ever come free. At least not for a wanted man like himself.

And while he should be extremely suspicious, Shang and his s/o would have gone through their own trials and tribulations at this point. If he eats foods cooked by his beloved, putting full trust in them that it hasn't been laced with anything, he has little to worry about. Getting pampered feels that much better when you're not concerned about getting backstabbed, lol

He'll be sure to return the favour tenfold, of course. His s/o is not simply a servant doing as they should to please him.

But when he isn't giving back, he's basking in the glory like a cat in the sun. Grinning from ear to ear. It's nice to have your shoulders massaged after brutally murdering your enemies. Or to find a freshly folded set of clothing on the bed after yours had been bloodied in the flesh pits.

As a creature of vanity (because I just know he spends hours in front of the mirror every morning), his favourite form of pampering has anything to do with his appearance. A spa day? A new manicure? Braiding or even cutting his silky locks? Go right ahead. Make this snake your masterpiece.

would you be able to do a request where shang tsung is dangerously low on souls and his s/o offers theirs up to keep him alive? bonus points if it's angst but with a happy end

To sum up his response: no matter how bad things get for him, he will not take it

For one, he’s lived for thousands of years. Shang has found crafty ways to work around his weakness, more often than not at the expense of another person, although it always works in the end.

For another, he would have taken his lover’s soul by now if he hadn’t loved them so much. It’s a bleak way of showing your love, but above all else is it true.

Even though he might be gasping for air he’ll never take it — instead the sorcerer will frantically give his lover instructions on what to do should his strength give out, which he would have already done long before it got to this. If his partner still insists he take their soul, they should know that it’s for naught — Shang will die in their arms no matter what is said.

And if they know how to simply give away their soul to him, he’ll give it right back. In his mind, he does this for shallow reasons. They need to be alive to serve as a tool for his resurrection. Besides, when he’s alive and well, he’ll surely have other souls to feast upon.

But in his heart he knows the truth. Having gained and lost just about everything in his long life, Shang Tsung has learned to hold practically nothing dear to him. All except for the love of his life. If he takes their soul, who’s to say there’ll be anyone left to love him the way they do?
