31 Days of Angst; Day #17 [Personal Failure]
Alastar held himself in high regard. He was the oldest of the triplets, the token child when it came to smarts, the one that aspired to have the answer to everything and be the best at everything. His younger siblings weren't the hardest to beat when it came to just about anything. He could beat Cedric in any intelligence-based test. He could overpower his sister during her lust rages. Alastar aimed to please his father in every way possible; except ownership of power.
Every demon was born in an innate power unique to them. While immaculate knowledge could be his power, it wasn't one that demons often, or ever, got. Most times it was powers that helped with killing or an ability to change the world around them. His uncle had an affinity for colors, his older sister that of time, his youngest sister one that could corrupt humans around her. But Alastar was left with none. Even his nitwit brother had an affinity with foods. Alastar felt like he had failed his demonhood,

31 Days of Angst; Day #14 [Hear Our Prayer]
Mastema sat in silence surrounded by the vast empty field she had found to be her meditation spot. No being for miles, no sounds to cloud her mind; just her and her thoughts. Mastema hated being on the human plane. She longed to return to her spot up in heaven with her brothers and sisters. She knew in the farthest crevasse of her mind that they had to have long forgotten about her or perhaps remembered her with spite for her actions. Even with her mind shattered from years of constantly losing pieces, Mastema still knew that what she did was wrong by every means. Tricked or not, taking the life of an innocent human should've resulted in her death. But instead, she was left to roam the living plane with her tattered wings dyed in their blood, unable to return back to where she was born. Mastema had spent centuries believing that perhaps cleansing the world of sinners would earn her place back in the land above. Today she realized that she might have been wrong. That creating a darker hue on her wings and staining her hands was never going to work. Mastema put her hands together and with a breath, asked her Mother to forgive her. To allow her back in her proper place. Or, to allow her life to end finally.
31 Days of Angst; Day #18 [Grievous Injury]
The night had gone well for the most part. Erik stalked around the land of the house in his wolf form to make sure nothing was to come of harm to his new family. While his love slept peacefully in his bed, he was on high alert for anything. The calmest of the night was cut short by the sound of a deep growl coming from the tree line. With his fur standing on end to make himself look bigger than he already was, Erik walked slowly towards the sound. He froze when the opposing creature strode its massive body from the trees. Erik's ear flattened, he knew he wouldn't win in this fight. The beast seemingly smirked at him before lunging forward.
The two wolves fought each other, both with the intention to kill the other. The beast dug its sharp claws into Erik, doing its best to rip him to shreds. Erik let out a wail as the beast bit down on his neck. The sound of his throat shattering ringing in his ears. Erik slumped to the ground, blood covering the ground around him. The beast seemed satisfied with its work and once he was sure Erik wasn't getting back up, it sauntered away. Erik breathed heavily, his body unable to move. He feared he would die there, that protecting his new family had finally cost him his life.
Antisocial Princess
Red awkwardly stood in the far corner of the ballroom away from the attendees as possible. Their parents had insisted on having a Ball to commemorate her younger sister becoming of age. Red was adamant that she was not a social person in protest to her parents but her voice mattered not. So here she stood, clad in her favorite color and done up to the nines, avoiding everyone that attempted conversation. Red was sure that everyone attending had forgotten that she was alive in the room. She paid no mind to the person walking to her as she watched her sister dance with the Cat.

31 Days of Angst; Day #20 [Survivor's Guilt]
The days were blending together as Winter attempted to survive in the hellish landscape that had devastated the world. There seemed to be no end to the virus or any cure in sight. Most of the world had succumbed to either turning with the infection, taking their deaths in their own hands, or being in Winter's shoes; forced to continue on. She had no idea why it was her that survived all this time. Was it just her training that allowed her to make smart choices? Was she destined to fix the world? Or is it that her particular death was in the near future, farther than she could see? The burden of being the only one of her sector that had the world's luck laid heavy on her heart. While she sometimes enjoyed her days with Zoey and could forget that the world was in shambles even when she slept next to a zombie, it never sat right with her. She should've died along with her comrades. There was no reason it should be her alive and not the others. Days that she doesn't run the idea of taking the cowards way out come by solemnly. Winter can never bring herself do such a thing, however. At least, not in her current state of mind.
